Great old song from when there wasn't any real distinction between "folk" and "country" - they were thesame thing. They were songs that ordinary people could, and did, sing at home. I grew up with my dad singing and playing this, though he stopped after his own mother passed. It's still the kind of song we sing when we all get together.
