I like A the most: subtle negative fill to create contrast, but still high key so fitting for client work. Love that you keep it simple yet thorough, please keep making more of these!
Great piece as always. For this type of shoot I always go for the more corporate look with some shadow rather than the darker neg fill look as I think that it suits the majority of corporate jobs I do. The client is generally trying to show something new, whether its a product or interior so I try and keep it light...
I'm big on context of the script for lighting choices, so it seems B would be the best choice. But I don't know the script. Never understand the youtube educated "filmmakers/videographers" that light everything to be "cinematic" and therefore would prefer D or something.
Bold choice, be we like what we like! Thanks so much for the support. Pumping out content is a lot of work on my days off, but worth it for supports like you!
Great video! Love that you started doing lighting breakdowns and false color LUT analysis. B/C look great for corporate/interview styles. D reminds me of documentary-style run and gun, almost like you have a single key light.
Probably c. It depends on the overall mood though. Not everything is serious enough to need a lot of negative. And a lot of times, having more frontal / flatter lighting is the right play (particularly for females).
This looks awesome! Especially considering the challenges of the space and needing a light footprint. Definitely gave me some things to think about with my own shoots! I prefer A, it feels balanced. I like D if the context was more dramatic!
Great idea! We wanted to avoid the windows to allow us to bring up the background levels. Maybe on the next shoot we can incorporate the windows too. Thanks again for the feedback!
There you go, that's a space I can work with! 😄 Awesome shots, especially the tight angle with the almost halo-like practicals in the background. Regarding fill, I'd agree with C the most, since you would have needed to black out the entire left wall and it could have looked a bit too artificial. The way that you ended up doing it is just perfect, if I was the client I'd sign your paycheck with a smile. 😁
I was so happy about that! But you would not have believed me when they wanted to cram me into a tiny room. I said no way! The big challenge was not loosing the background, so the shadows had to be lifted to battle the sun coming through the windows. This is one where more dynamic range would have helped. I agree, where it landed was just right and goes with the feel of the project.
I like A the best. Great work as always. Curious about the ratchet strap, do you find that easier to set up vs having a shot bag on the backside of the boom? And is there a weight/ balance point where you would prefer the ratchet over a shot/ sand bag?
Love the look. How was the audio interferences in the area? Looks very busy and in my experience have had to stop and do retakes due to people in the background or noise.
That is where the balance plays in. What we like vs what the client likes. Some things I will push on and others I give the win to the person that cuts me the check.
@@PDMokry that’s a great way to look at it! You’re inspiring man. If you’re ever unfortunate enough to do work in the Northeast Arkansas area, would love to meet you!
Especially since it’s a big room with lots of natural ambient light - C... my background is broadcast...lol flat light. I like D for narrative. Stupid me...never saw safety straps on C stands...got a workflow, setup? Sandbag and counterbalance is all I know! Cool.
Appreciate these videos. However, the lighting makes the guy looked photoshopped in this one 😬 For one, I think a hard kicker/back light from a spotlight (coming from the right to motivate sunlight) would have helped. The tube is too soft and barely does a thing.
I really love the look you ended up with. I wish I would have learned much earlier in my career how neg is sometimes the most important lighting you can use. How far back do you think your cameras were from the talent? Looks like 8-10ft. Killing it as always. 🦾
I got tired of fighting fill lights and getting an artificial look in the early days. So I switched to bounce and negative. I try to avoid using a fixture for fill if all possible. So I totally agree with you. I would say right at 8' away. Thank so much for the support!
Hair light on rolling stand is smart.
Makes it safer to adjust on the fly! Thanks for stopping by!
Damn that location is sick. So much depth! Keep it up man
It was so great to film in a spot that was not stuffy.
I like A the most: subtle negative fill to create contrast, but still high key so fitting for client work.
Love that you keep it simple yet thorough, please keep making more of these!
Also you do a wonderful job at shooting at just the right time and position for the light on location
Great choice! It worked out great for sure. Thank you for watching!
D is definitely my favorite, but also the most dramatic. C looks more appropriate for high key cooperate, but yes D is my personal fav.
Love it with the negative fill. A

Clients always lean on the safe and soft look. But that is what pays, so we have to roll with it.
You did an incredible job!! Looking forward to having you come out for more projects!!
Can't wait! Y’all were amazing to work with!
C or A.
This Atomos Monitors look sick. I lost track of new Atomos models supposedly :o
Well these are old news now, there is a newer version out! But they are so great!
That diffuser is huge!! My little 120 would barely make it glow lol
It is a monster!
Thank for the post! Me personally, I like " C " It matches the bright area you are shooting in.
Great pick! I agree!
very informative, well done, 👏🏼👏🏼
Happy to share! Thanks for watching!
A and C. Great content as always man!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Totally agree! I am a RUclips taught shooter that also works, so I am a different breed.
A + C for me. Great look!
When you get choices, it is hard to land on one!
A for me, awesome light scheme, bring more like these and keep the content on!!
I like contrast so “D” was my favorite. Awesome job Broham! Love your work!

Definitely D, but like you said it depends on the context and what client is looking for to express.
A and C and thank you!!
Great video and information. Thank you for sharing.
Probably c. It depends on the overall mood though. Not everything is serious enough to need a lot of negative. And a lot of times, having more frontal / flatter lighting is the right play (particularly for females).
I like C the best, but I lean towards favoring less of a contrasty look. Great breakdown. I enjoy your channel.
This looks awesome! Especially considering the challenges of the space and needing a light footprint. Definitely gave me some things to think about with my own shoots! I prefer A, it feels balanced. I like D if the context was more dramatic!
Hi I like your video On this on I have a suggestion at 6:29 of the video i would have make that the
shot
Great idea! We wanted to avoid the windows to allow us to bring up the background levels. Maybe on the next shoot we can incorporate the windows too. Thanks again for the feedback!

Thanks for the video
You bet!
Hey! I like A and D. D being my favorite. I like contrast.
I knew there would be some love for D!
There you go, that's a space I can work with! 😄 Awesome shots, especially the tight angle with the almost halo-like practicals in the background. So I like to balance my booms. That often means adding a shot bag. Then the ratchet is an extra safety measure.
Love the look. How was the audio interferences in the area? Looks very busy and in my experience have had to stop and do retakes due to people in the background or noise.
We ran when the areas were clear. It worked out great and a little AI cleanup did the trick.
Thanks dude
A. Great vid!
I think I like A, but I could see a lot of businesses preferring the look of C more.
Do you also prepare questions? Is there any template script that you are using for the interviews?
Usually done by client or agency, based off the final video expectations.
C for me! all look great
Great choice!
What do you do for audio with background noise and such a large space (I imagine there's echo?)? Awesome video
Hi PD, what arm do you use to hold the tube hair light?
That is the Avenger Mini Boom
I prefer shot C. This was another great video!
Whats the rolling stand you used for the backlight?
I used rolling stands for all the lights. The Amaran T2c was a hair light and on a rolling stand.
B/C for corporate interviews IMO
Clean and bright!
Especially since it’s a big room with lots of natural ambient light - C... my background is broadcast...lol flat light. I like D for narrative. Stupid me...never saw safety straps on C stands...got a workflow, setup? Sandbag and counterbalance is all I know! Cool.
C - I think it has a good amount of fill, but not overly filled.
A looks balanced.
I’m torn between A and C. Both look great.
why you don't use a back light on this setup? just want to learn
Because it would require a lot for the big space.
@@PDMokry thanks 🙏🏾
D is a bit too contrasty for my taste of a "corporate interview"
personally i would choose C
Don't say that too loud, you will upset some folks! Great pick with C!
(A). All are very different.
They are very different indeed! Great choice!
C and A is more appropriate for this corporate job. D is nice for a documentary style. B is a little flat for my taste.
C 😍
My fav too!

I like the the shot with the foam core bounce but not so close to the subject.
Great choice!
