However no water was coming out of the spout. So do this - in the step when you push the steam button, I’ve had to push mine twice to activate the descaling process and VOILA!!!!!!!!! Tricky bug!!!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have been avoiding rescaling my Dedica, because the last time (also my first time) I went through the process, it created a significant amount of splatter and an overall-unsafe mess. Your video made the process quite easy and much safer. One recommendation I do have is as follows:. I place the basket and other parts in the expelled rescaling solution for a few minutes, rinse, scrub, and rinse again. Best wishes to you for plenty of You-Tube success.

Sometimes rerunning the cycle again, or just run the cycle with fresh water can clear the flashing light

Thanks for the tutorial. Very informative. 👍. I had the orange flashing descale prompt only after 2 weeks of used. My average usage per day was about 5 cups. So I supposed the system is programmed to target based on number of runs, duration, or flow rate, whichever come first. Knowing that my system is still clean, I simply ran through both cycles with clean water. The orange flashing prompt when away after that and my system is back up. Note: after the first cycle, I deliberately remove the empty container to fill it with fresh water, as I supposed there may have an interlock built in that require users to removed the container for cleaning prior to running the 2nd cycle with fresh water.

Thank you so much for this useful video. I did it step by step but it seems my machine is having a problem in the pump as the water does come out through the nozzle. It is true I didn't descale the coffee machine in a year but I don't know now if it is related to this? or it's another issue. Do you have any tip? thank you again, regards from NY

You could try running a few cycles with no espresso grounds in it to see if that helps flush out the system. Sorry I can't be more help.

Please need some help here, the steam nozzle keeps dropping water, there is always a drop from time to time dripping out of it. When I make my milk froth I have the impression that too much water have been mixed into it. Any advice for this issue. One more thing what kind of milk should be used, full, half or skimmed milk. What about powdered milk. Thank you for your help.

This was awesome! However, I have followed it, and my descale warning light is still flashing. The only boy missing from your video is, when the 2nd cycle (clean water) is finished, you can hear the pump making noise trying to suck in more water. Do you turn the machine off at that point? Or leave it on and so connect tank?!

Sometimes a few brew cycles of just water without coffee will clear it up. But sometimes it might need a second cleaning cycle

    • @caymanmartin911

Resetting the machine actually happens when the sensor “feels” the water reservoir is EMPTY, so a quick trick is not to do the cycle again, but rather just start the descale cycle, let it run a few minutes, remove the water reservoir, and then reinsert - this starts the rinsing cycle, and just repeat the above. THIS machine does NOT have a scaling sensor, it is actually programmed when you select the hardness of the water using the “TEST YOUR WATER” section in the users manual. Unfortunately, the machine is not as “smart” as has been given credit, but it works very well - USING distilled water eliminates all this, and when the orange indicator starts to blink, just do the above - NO scaling will have occurred during use... This instructional video is excellent - thank you!

I use this video every time I descale just so I know I don’t miss a step, great video bud thank you. Also, I use the plastic quart size containers like you get at the deli for like potato salad, etc, there’s no splashing, and you can put one under each place to be descaled.

JJ Shankles Is it possible to use Melittas "Anti Calc Tabs" which really are meant for filter coffee and aqua machines? If so then how should you dissolve the tab? It says that one tab should be mixed with 500ml water and once you've done that I assume you would get something like the DeLonghi Eco Decalk, so you would add 100ml of this liquid into the tank and then fill it up with water to max?
