I'm sorry but no one is listening to South African music outside of South Africa unless you are lady smith mambazo or Die Antwoord. Everyone knows it is West African music that has gone global that you hear being played in American and European clubs. he should be interviewing a West African musician not a friend no one has even heard of.

@@Delboy0 Not "no one", but yes, west African artists have got a lot more exposure mostly due to Paul Simon. S. Africa is an English colony with deep influence. The popularity of Western music is hard to fight. BC reintroduces afro beat into the context. Not nearly enough for my sensibilities but it's a step. I wish Trevor didn't mischaracterize it but he does a fine job anyway.

Attended Coachella that year... Had some downtime that Friday in between sets, stumbled upon the Mojave since there wasn’t really anyone i planned on seeing around that time and the tent was pretty much empty from the changeover. Right off the bat when Black Coffee went on the tent was bumpin and packed quickly. South African flags all around, the vibe was truly ethereal the whole set. Was a shame they only gave him a 50 minute set, but out of all the sets that weekend that set is the one that I think about the most to this day. Truly a special moment for me, and instantly made me a fan

Omg I'm looking him up right after leaving this comment!! I'm so excited! This is something that I've been missing and wanting so badly: black people embracing and living their culture and heritage and being proud of it and more importantly, I think, sharing it for the world to see. As a whitish girl in a small town right in the middle of America, I don't get to set that stuff unless I go looking hard for it. The only thing I have from my personal heritage even are some Italian recipes (but I also have German, French, Polish, Scandinavian, and many others that I didn't get any cultural influence from) and I'm glad that at least one survived but I'm sad the others have been lost to me. So PLEASE throw it in my face and let me love it so it will be known to the world again. Thank you Black Coffee and Trevor Noah 😁

there are a lot of Afro House Tracks, that's nothing new. But Afro House has a comeback in Ibiza at Summer 2017.
With this new hype for Afro Deep House he becomes big.
The next trend will be more electronic, like the old Kraftwerk sound. Adana Twins or Boris Brejcha are the real trend at the moment.
Boris Brejcha @ Grand Palais for Cercle yt Video is awesome and all his own tracks. At the moment for me the greatest DJ/Producer.

I love Black Coffee's resilience and hardwork. It is definitely paying back. Being from Africa is hard just like he said because we always have this 'inferiority complex' that Europe and America and the rest of the world is better than us and maybe we are to blame just like Black Coffe said because perception of ourselves really matter.I love his work and the message he always tries to give out to his global audience. Africa to the world🇳🇬🇦🇫🇿🇦🇨🇫
