I watched this film in cinema hall and did not like it . I thought it was boring and didn't understand it much. But few months back, I saw it again and loved it. I love his direction. Though complex but deep.

Only reason Tamasha did not do well is because the struggle of RK in this movie was stretched too much and the way it was stretched was quite boring and not relatable. Other wise it could have been a brilliant movie. Sometimes in order to look too different, directors forget that these things should be done in small doses. Internal struggle is not so much about what you want and dream but rather about should I or should I not, what about family, money, will I be successful, should I step out of my conventional life etc. Here they showed that RK was unable to understand what he really wants and goes searching for answers. That kind of got boring. But good try Mr. Ali. I do like you and your movies. Keep it simple and yet different.
It was relatable to the people who have faced/are facing that struggle in their lives. It is the kind of movie which may seem boring if you intend to seek just entertainment out of it but If you give it time, If you completely surrender to the film and allow it to do its magic, You'll come out of it moved beyond expectation. Give it another shot.
