Absolutely love these. The quality looks excellent, well priced and perfect for getting into Napoleonic wargaming in a big way quickly and easily. Usually horses at anything less than 15mm either look like pit ponies or donkeys and these cavalry models in particular look superb. Can't wait to see them painted up!
Good stuff Ken. I must admit I probably won't get into these, but you're right they look fantastic and I was amazed at the deatil on the ones at Salute. Looking forward to the painting vids.
Picked mine up on Salute, and i think the detail is magnificent. Base coated mine in std mech grey from citadel and the detail comes out even better. I think the detail on the Hussars is just amazing as well but the Infantry sprue wow!!!. I am so looking forward to this and the fact that it is all plastic I think Warlords have knocked this one out the park. This can only be a good thing for Napoleonic wargaming especially for those players who maybe were a bit daunted by Black Powder Napoleonic in 28mm, I know as I was sone of those. What I'm most excited about is the potential of large armies on still a reasonable size gaming table. Great review and look forward to so much more content in this new era of Napoleonic wargaming.
Great review. They look fantastic but I bought the ACW figures and I couldn't paint them,.Frankly, I struggle with 28mm now. Definitely for young people! All those tiny, tiny straps!
Interesting stuff - looking forward to seeing these painted up - I hope they are fun to paint and base, it will look amazing when they're all done and facing off against the Brits - epic even!
Brilliant review, thank you Ken. :) Hmmm, this hurts a little, I actually like these French (this post will self destruct in 30 seconds :) ). I am glad I have gone for 2 of each army box, the paint conversion possibilities will make it totally worthwhile. Now Ken go get painting, I want to see them painted! LOL
Great review mate, can’t wait to get my hands the French. Looks like we have very similar thoughts on each side, both preferring the light cav to the heavy sprue, and loving the infantry.
My one issue with the Waterloo campaign compared to the Peninsular is the greatcoats on the French. I love the blue uniforms and the grey is just too drab. So whilst it may be historically accurate, it does put me off a bit.
Fair comment 👏 one kl thing is that that it's epic battle waterloo campaign not the word campaign does this mean in future that there will be a panistular campaign
Super excited for this release. I am still having a hard time seeing the detail so I can’t really comment until I get them in my hands. But from what I can tell, the French have a lot more interesting figures. The voltigeurs and hussars look amazing! Can’t wait
Not a great fan of plastic, however these look really great and quick to paint. Now just got to decide on a set of rules. Great video, was keen to get a close view of the French Infantry, so thanks for that.
Hi Ken yes I agree that flag sheet is a veally nice touch from warlord they didn't need to provide that many flags if any so that is a major plus. I really don't know what people expect from 12mm there looks enough detail from what I can see. I do like all this artillery with these sprues , there doesn't look like much clean up . I happen to like all my troops in order of march it's an odd problem, yes I like the look of these , I'm waiting for the magazine to come out to see if I can see 12m and if I can then I'm in, I agree I prepare plastic as well.
and now im torn inside about these. its just the lancers and infantry in coats that doesnt speak to me. I wish the lancers were wearing caps instead of those helmets (but maby there will be a release of polish guard lancers) and would preffer to have my infantry in full uniforms without the long coats
I wonder if they will release individual sprues/parts of to make up shortfalls (eg if you want more dragoons for the peninsula). I have lots of old 15-18mm Napoleonics painted in the last few years (mainly Minifigs/some Tabletop etc) so is disappointing these look just a little too small to be compatible with these so Warlord have lost a customer here. A shame as they look very good value and I was hoping that companies would move into non-modern plastic 15mm scale (as with PSC and their ancients) but perhaps these are aimed at players new to the period with a scale just Warlord supply (though Kallistra cover other periods I believe). Maybe if they eventually move to other nations (I have been investing in the Austrians recently but no Russians yet) I might look at investing
I was not so impressed about the ACW version of epic battles just for the lack of detailed parts while here it seems they've improved quite a lot ....see for example the firing infantry where you can distinguish a proper gun. For sure I'll give it a better consideration now. Thanks for your review.
I know I don’t need these, but I do appreciate the way the infantry resembles some period art of major battles, showing the lines of massed troops as a repeating pattern instead of individuals in unique poses
Looking over a dozen FB forums and YT sites i see newbies coming on to this all over the place. As this will be Brigade level the detail wont be that important just know that mass of stands is xyz regiment
Naaaaw! Please check details before filming. Your 'carabiniers' are actually dragoons (hard to tell on the mobile but the guns look like musketoons), and your 'dragoons' are actually carabiniers. If not for nit-pickers like me, at least get it right for beginners. And yes, I love the sprues!

Huge improvement over the Epic Battles ACW, Skrimishers, Cavalry all there. also details seems to improve
Yer warlord have done a great job
Good stuff Ken. I must admit I probably won't get into these, but you're right they look fantastic and I was amazed at the deatil on the ones at Salute. Looking forward to the painting vids.
Yes great review thanks so much. Really impressed with this sprue - can't wait to get stuck in on these!

Glad buddy and thank you very much
Very cool review mate
The poses look good on the cav will be a nice challenge to paint them up ken , good video
Thanka very much glad that you enjoyed it.
Too small for my tired eyes Ken but a great opportunity to build vast armies and fight large battles. 👍👍
vk you are the man when it comes to painting. It's great mate enjoying it alot

And it begins....

No problem that's why I did the video glad it helped
Got a sample sprout look very nice.

It's all about plastic for me cannon should be interesting going to try and kit bash abot tbh they are nice once u get them enjoy them.
Just a note, you flipped the Dragoons and Carabiniers around. Didn't want you to paint them incorrectly on accident lol.
Yer I saw that lol sorry rushed to get video out not up to my normal standard of editing. But cheers tho as it's something I would do.
Good review Ken. Not for me, I’m addicted to metal.
And I respect that good sir!
I wish that the ACW epic range was as good as this.

Could always do a kit bash with another kit.

Those French infantry will look stunning en mass. Will you paint them for waterloo or a different campaign?
Waterloo for me

I think these look awesome really captured the French infantry. Between you and Stuart you’re really ramping up the excitement. Thanks 😁
Welcome on board the hype train to the middle of miniature heaven.
I know I don’t need these, but I do appreciate the way the infantry resembles some period art of major battles, showing the lines of massed troops as a repeating pattern instead of individuals in unique poses
Yer it's got a cham to them

And yes, I love the sprues!
Ah yes got it the wrong way round sorry
