this look.. *round of applause*
:') im blushing
realy. You look GREAT
She reminds me so much of Donna from that's 70s show
I was just about to comment that but figured someone else already did lmao
skyler smit omg right
skyler smit she does!
I'm literally weirdly obsessed with you....Hahaha this feels like an extra weird comment to leave on a period video (😕LOL) but I just really appreciate your honesty and maturity! You are so much younger than me but I find myself constantly learning from your spirit❤️❤️❤️
NikkiPhillippi Same! I just turned 41, and I'm officially obsessed :) And whenever I'm feeling down, hangin with Meg helps 🌞
HAHAH I'm glad I'm not alone, I was watching this video and also catching myself fall in love *cry laughing emoji* ahhhh good old menstrual discussions bringing out the best in us all!
Honestly just think about how lifesaving this would be for homeless people, like if people donated these instead of putting pads and tampons in those little care packages.
Princess Whaleton How about no. Just give them pads and stfu
your new bangs are so freaking cute i can't !!! also thank u for this vid. been loving the big sis/ body posi vibes from you, per usual. xx
I love my diva cup and truly think it's such a better alternative to tampons! Also...you're bangin' (:
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 😭💛💛
I'm thinking of buying a menstrual cup like the diva cup but I looked online and saw that you could still get tad from cups! Sucks huh but could you leave it in for 8hours them change into your pad and be ok to not get tss I have a pretty normal flow
Sad Bon
you could always stick a small beaker or test tube in your jack and danny
Like I said in my previous post, I've left mine in by mistake for a full 24 hours before. NO WORRIES. Give it a try and take good care of yourself... and if you shop on AliExpress app you can get an excellent one for about $1.75 US. NO need to spend $30 bucks!
So tmi but if you order the diva cup (size a, the smaller one) and you can't get it to work like me because it is huge (for me personally) and hurts, try the lily cup compact (smaller size)! It's the same concept but the silicone is softer and gentler and it feels a lot nicer! (Also same price and its compact)!! Hope this helps anyone that has a lil bit smaller lady bits!
meluna also has a lot of size, capacity, and stem (pully thing) options!! im not sure if theres any online stores that ship to the US but i know theres a site that ships to europe and canada
There is a MeLuna USA store. They carry all MeLunas except the soft.
I'm coming back to this video to say thank you. I watched this video months ago and I finally got the gall to purchase a menstrual cup and I LOVE IT. It's only been one night and one day so far but I legit slept in it and no mess. I even splurged on some cute reusable menstrual pads for next month. Thank you for helping people who menstruate~ You are awesome, Meghan!!
I prefer the Lunette cup over the Diva cup, but menstrual cups are awesome! :) To help with taking it out you should press gently on it with your finger to turn the cup into a U shape once you're about to pull the rim out. By pushing down on it will help it not hit your urethra and cause you pain. Precious Star Pads here on RUclips has a lot of great tips! :)
Also Lunette has portable wipes you can take with you to clean it when you're in public :)
Kat I am really leaning towards the lunette cup but haven’t seen many reviews on it. I have the intimina compact one but yet to use it. I’m new to this lol. Would the lunette be a good starter cup? I thought about MeLuna but I’ve heard from reviews the cup sticks to itself and makes it difficult to open. =\
Omg, I was seriously on the hunt for someone who could relieve my fear and I swore I was so happy when you addressed the "Will the blood go back in if you're elevated back" question.
THANK YOU
OMFG YOU LOOK SO GORGEOUS
HAHAHA the mean girls reference
+Micah Sellers has i love mean girls
Ohhhh my god meg I stopped watching you for a few months, just cause I go through phases w youtubers but I'm going to watch every single one now I love you and everything you've become on RUclips you send such a positive message to all women this is just the beginning of you changing lives
The bangs totally suit you!
YASSS DIVA CUP
I'm so happy you are liking it!!
your hair styled this way, I'm living for it
I started using a cup a few cycles ago and freakin love it. It's completely changed the way I experience my period. Thanks for talking about this!
the bangs suit you so well!! loveee
you should've called this video "Meghan Menstruates" lol
hahaha.
I SHOULD'VE!!!
I'd be the one to grab the cup and accidentally spill it as I took it out 😂😂😂😂
mckennarosebud omg sammeee😂😂
I've been using my diva cup for a few months now and it is honestly one of my favorite things that I've ever bought in my life.
Your bangs look so good I love the new hair😍 This video was super informative thanks for making it!
thanks for watching!!! :')
Just got my diva cup and I can say that I love it! Putting it in was fairly easy and I had no leakage. Taking it out was a bit tough because of the suction it has, but I got the hang of it. I can't even feel it when it's in me and all in all I love it. I heard I last a long time so now I'll save money not having to buy tampons!
YOUR HAIR😍😍😍
I 💞 MY CUP!! I've been using it for 2 years now and it's a dream. Sometimes I've been foolish and forgotten to take it out for about 24 hours, no joke... no leaking, no pain, no diseases, no infections because NOTHING sticks to silicone! For a wicked heavy flow girl it's a life saver.
Heather O'Day what about if you have to pee .. Do you take it out to pee or leave it ? I'm very. new to all this
Pee comes from the urethra, which is located just above the vaginal opening. You can leave the cup in to go to the bathroom, and no urine will go inside of it.
LOL EW THE PASSION FRUIT TEA!! haha & MEGHAN I AM IN LOOOOOOVE WITH YOUR NEW HAIR. YOU ARE ROCKING IT! xx
Wow Meghan those bangs suit you SO much!!!
They shape your face so well!
And yeah I have to agree Menstrual Cups are life changing. I will never use any thing else now!
YOUR BANGS MY ANGEL
they're bangin
Very punny, sir.
i see u on every vid
+Meghan Hughes ily
The demonstration with the tea was actually super helpful! I've watched a couple videos on menstrual cups & they seem like a great idea
Loveee the bangs!! You're adorable!
I feel like this hair is so flattering on you. Love the change.
anything that requires me sticking something up there makes me insanely nauseous and lightheaded :( it's not even the blood part. and knowing that something is up there kinda scares me and I can't get it out of my head.does this happen to anyone else?
yesss I'm even terrified to use tampons.
ME YES
+Nicole Floyd you don't need to worry, a vagina is only about 4/5" and most tampon strings are of that length, if anything you'll have extra string
girl sameeee
is it weird to wear normal pads nowadays? :/ im not judging or anything but im not american and where i live i think like 60% of us girls/women wear pads, instead everytime i listen girls from america talking about periods it seems like all of them wear tampons or menstrual cups. i mean is not so uncommon, i also wear tampons but not on a daily basis, but maybe pads are more confortable because they dont imply any sticking up? i know it's also not the most safe and hygienic thing to do
I purchased the diva cup a couple years ago and it's the best thing that ever happened to my period! I have a decently light flow, aside from the first day, but no matter how heavy it works well. Wins over pads and tampons any day, it is definitely the most comfortable to sleep in, and maintenance throughout the day is a breeze. The hardest part to get used to was taking it out, but what I've found to work best is to pinch and fold the base after I push it out a little. It should be washed every now and again also, diva cup makes a cleanser specifically for it (which is the one that I use) but any sort of delicate soap like summers eve should do the trick! :) :)
I don't think you explained insertion too well. You're supposed to angle it towards your tailbone. Sometimes if air doesn't get all the way in, it can't expand, and you have to push on the back wall of the vagina to get some air in there and it can be fully open. You then have to twist it 360 degrees so it's suctioned up there. You can also trim the little tip if your vagina isn't long enough to accommodate for it. I did and I can no longer feel it! Also be sure to make sure the four TINY holes near the top are clear of period goop because that's what causes the suction. I love my Diva Cup!
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CANT GET OVER HOW GREAT MEGHAN LOOKS WITH THIS NEW HAIRSTYLE OMFG YESSS GIRL SO GORGEOUS
Holy shit yessssss you look so good with bangs
just made the switch this last period and I'm so happy! it was pretty stressful trying to get it up there the first time because you're tense, but if you're patient with it and give yourself time the first while it becomes easy in no time. I have a crazy heavy flow, like new tampon every two hours on the worst days, so for me I can't leave it up there for more than 6ish hours on those days. but that's still so much better than before. I still get a tiny bit of leakage, but a panty liner takes care of that. if you have a normal/light flow, you could legit just change it once in the morning and once at night. honestly, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain so at least give it a shot!
Hahahaha I had the same question about it going back inside of me if I'm laying down or something! You aren't alone, Meg. Thank you for making this and I really think I'm gonna look into getting it. I love you!
p.s. I'm living for your new hair. You look absolutely bangin and I am digging it sOOooOooOooooO much!
OMG I also love the Diva Cup! Ever since I got one like 3 months ago, I have been preaching to my friends to get one too. Very true how you said the best $30 investment ever
This is such an interesting video meg!!!!
Omg yes Emily!!!
YES GET RID OF THE PERIOD STIGMA!!!!! This is awesome i love you everyone needs to watch this bc your attitude is incredible
I laughed so hard at "will the blood go back inside of me if I go upside down" hahaha
I switched over to menstrual cups 2 cycles ago and I love it!! I don't use tampons or pads anymore and it's so much more eco friendly. Love your videos!!
HOLY SHIT YOUR BANGS ARE BANGIN YOU LOOK SO GOOD
I love how down to earth and funny you were. Made it so relaxing to watch :)
A tip for having to empty and clean it in public or even while in the workplace: I carry a water bottle with me and just rinse it with the water bottle that way. Or travel sized wet wipes are great for a quick clean. Last option: Walk in, grab some paper towels, wet them then head to the stall. Maybe you'll get funny looks but whatever. You do you.
Best money I've ever spent switching to reusable's. Also have to shout out to reusable pads as well. A bit more work than the cup but so cute and easy to use.
actually it DOES leak!!! if your flow is heavier it WILL leak. for me i have to empty it every hour and a half on my heaviest days or else it WILL leak. also when you wake up if your flow is heavy like mine it will be crazy in the morning so sleep with a cotton pad or something. hopefully your flow isnt as heavy as mine obviously, im on the more heavy set side. you have to wear it for about 2-3 months to gauge how heavy your flow is in the cup compared to pads and tampons and how frequently you, yourself, have to change YOUR cup and dont base it on how heavy or how frequently megan had to change hers. for the first few months i suggest wearing a panty liner or pad (because when it leaks it LEAKS like crazy.)
MEG! It's so awesome that you're making helpful videos like this for girls. The world needs more of it
ya girl looks good in bangs n_n
I have a Diva, Lunnette, and a Lena. I have to say the Lunnette is my favorite. I love them! I've been using them for about 8 years. I also use reusable pads and pantyliners.
UR HAIR OMG YES
Menstrual cups are LIFE CHANGING. Initially the idea was "gross" to me, but in all honesty, it came down to cost. Freaking tampons and pads are expensive and I go through an entire box in a month. I got the Lunette cup on sale for $30 and it will last me at least a year. Win!
Literally the #1 question I had was what happens when you go upside down lol
And I'm also still kind of confused
it should stay in place! very rarely does it flip. the blood will move around and back into the cup when you are right side up lol. are you a gymnast? check out my channel for a detailed video full of FAQs about menstrual cups! july is my 1 year anniversary using the diva cup!
Where your period is coming from is like a one way blood dropper, kind of. So that way the blood does not go back inside you.
like what. I assume the blood does not have far to travel when it comes into the cup, and it goes pretty slowly. I reckon the muscles push it downwards regardless of which direction your body's in.
It shouldn't be a problem.
OMG YOUR OUTRO IS NAHKO AND MEDICINE FOR THE PEOPLE!!!!!! I LOVE THEM AND I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS ANYONE ELSE THAT DOES TOO!!
you look freaking amazing like sunshine
You are my favorite human being ever I love how open and honest you are!! Love you meg!
I think you were putting your tampon in wrong because when I put mine in I can't even feel it at all.
yeah probably. i dont ever feel mine.
I think its a sponsored video
Yeah I think she said they hurt when she didnt put it in properly but she didnt want to waste that tampon and use another!
it's surely not! i would've said if it was! lmao i just don't like tampons
+Meghan Hughes how sick would that be if you were sponsored by diva cup LOL
OH MY GOD I KNOW THIS ISN'T THE FOCUS OF THE VIDEO BUT YOU LOOK SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD WITH BANGS OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDD. Also love that you make videos like this, you're always super real and positive.
If your periods are that heavy, I would recommend going on a HCLF plant based diet. I literally only have to wear a panty liner 3 days out of the 5. The smallest sized pad for others. No bloating, mood swings, acne, cramps, or weird cravings. I have to say, probably the best thing I ever did for myself.
I am HCLF and I still experience these things. Menstrual symptoms are completely normal, and for a lot of people, diet won't change that. I hardly get cramps since going vegan though! I do definitely think that diet can alleviate excess symptoms and veganism is amazing for general health, but I don't think there's a cure-all for everyone's period symptoms :)
Sian Kavanagh I should have mentioned that I'm raw vegan as well. :) Because that's the only thing that helped it!
lol same but my periods are super heavy and my cramps are terrible
your bangs flatter your face perfectly, BEAUTIFUL!
Meghan those bangs look beautiful on you
Thank you Megan! I wanted to start using menstrual cups a long time ago but I never dated to do it because of the unknowledge of the removal and those things... you have really helped me 😊
I've been wanting to try this so bad. but I'm so scared I'll do it incorrectly and leak. lol
I think most people do it incorrectly one or two times but honestly a lot of them master it by their first week of their period and it's a breeze after! Worth a try!
It was pretty easy to me the first time i did it but obviously its like learning to use anything new. Like first time using a tampon or pads c:
+Andy Ventura (Portal2Player) definitely couldn't hurt to try.
I feel like it would leak to?that's why I never tried it
I know it's a bit late but I put mine in wrong every single time haha, it should pop open inside you but mine never does, it's a quick fix though, you just run your finger around the side and jiggle it around a bit and you should feel it pop
i was a faithful tampon user until i made the leap to the Diva cup and i noticed with tampons i would get SO SORE from the rubbing of the string and every time i'd use the bathroom i'd have to change it and then if it's dry you can tear the inside of the vaginal walls and it was HORRIBLE, but i hated pads soo much i'd just wear them and suffer through it. I'm SO GLAD more people are talking and using cups. it's a LIFE CHANGER. it actually made my period 2 whole days shorter too which is INSANE and i'm so excited.
LOVE your hair!!! did you donate the 7 inches of hair?
yep!
that's great! you're great, I love you so much thanks for commenting back!!!
+Meghan Hughes is awesome
love how realistic you are. finally I can watch a video where a woman isn't, like, scared of ridicule.
thank you!
I'm so scared of those "diva cups".. Also it looks very uncomfortable to have a silicon cup on my vagina. And yes, I am a virgin so that may be a reason why this looks so horrendous.. I'll stick to pass for now
In *** and I meant pads
Hahaha yes that opening is huge idk how that would fit coming out!
You feel u uncomfortable having a medical grade silicone cup but it's cool to have a dry piece of bleached chemical cotton
+Amy Fisher neither actually.. Periods in general suck but I'd rather wear a pad than stick silicone into my vagina. The pad is outside of my body therefore I feel less nervous
you just have to squeeze it to make it smaller, it's not as hard as it seems
the bangs!!!!!! your whole look today is EVERYTHING
you always reminded me of pheobe from friends and with the hair ur vibing her extra hard.
female energy in the beginning tho!! your hair yesss!!
- i haven't been on snaps so i haven't seen your hair, but it looks lovely.
I thought about trying this, but i wasn't sure if i should actually do it. I don't like feeling uncomfortable, but, I'd honestly take this over a tampon.
what lip stick are you wearing?
meg is literally the cutest lil bean ever i just luv u so much
what about storage??? and sleeping??? i need to know man...
you can sleep in it
They usually come with a little baggy that you keep it in when you're not on your period! And you can also wash the bag if any blood happens to get on it. Also, you can wear it while you sleep!
thanks !!! Katey Dupere Caroline
For storage you can just keep it in the little pink clinch bag it comes it, just may sure to clean it well before storing. I keep mine in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. And as far as sleeping, I usually change it before bed and then again in the morning. As long as you insert it correctly there will be no leakage through out the night!
I personally love the Lily cup compact because it can collapse into a tiny little compact case and looks like foundation or something c:
Seriously the greatest thing ever!!!! Used it for over a year now and haven't bought tampons again since! Where in GA?
OMG YOU LOOK SO MUCH LIKE DONNA FROM THAT 70's SHOW OMGGGGGG
done with my period today and i've been a diva cup user for 5 months and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOUR HAIR IS GORGEOUS. YOU ARE GORGEOUS 💞💞✌🏼️
I wasnt sure about this at first but the way you talked about this kinda makes me want to give it a try... Plus it's probably a huge save on tampon money. Thanks Meghan
i think it just depends on the person because ever since i started using tampons (the right way) i forget im on my period sometimes bc theyre so comfortable for me
SO GLAD you're addressing this topic! I LOVE my menstrual cup and it's changed my life! You should look into the ruby cup! It's got a toms type philosophy (buy one give one) I have a ruby cup and I've been using it for 5-6 months I love it so much! Thank you thank you for talking about this!
this is a smart and interesting concept but I would be terrified of not being able to take it out lol
It's a scary image but you should be fine if you know how to move your muscles down there, haha.
kayla45 don't worry it's not a black hole down there
I don't think I've ever seen bangs look this good on anyone!
You are literally twins with Donna from That 70s Show
Aw yeah!! I love my diva cup as well!! For whatever reason, I've noticed less cramping during my period since switching to a menstrual cup from tampons.
You look BANGIN!! Haha get it... Seriously though (:
We need more people like you haha! :)
I love this video! The diva cup is so much better for the environment and so much cheaper than tampons and pads! I'm totally switching over!
I wish I liked the divacup more, I got one but I find that it fills up quickly on my heavy days (which is inconvenient when I'm in school or work) and it's so messy!!!
I imagine it's less messy the more you use it
I actually LOVE my divacup. I bought it at CVS for like $40 about a year ago. I havent used a tampon since. I still wear pads though because I'm super paranoid about leaking which can still happen with a cup if you don't insert it right. I've changed it at school like 3 times which was an awful experience. The first time I carried water with me to rinse and it didn't work as well as a sink. The school toilet paper sticks to the cup when it's wet too. I changed it in a dunkin' doughnuts bathroom once and it was just a gender neutral bathroom that didn't have stalls which was nice so I could actually clean it in the sink. I can actually sleep with it and it's not uncomfortable. I personally can't feel it in me so sometimes I forget. Some people say it stopped their cranping but not for me sadly. This all one jumbled up mess but I highly recommend a menstrual cup.
These scare me so much, tampons scare me as well. so i think i will have to get used to tampons first before i even consider trying this
Hei Meghan I've used a menstrual cup for a little over a year now and if it's uncomfortable for you to remove it or if it hurts I think you should try to squeeze the bottom part a little bit, because when it's inside you it basically "seals" itself because of the pressure and if you squeeze it a little it will loose a lot of its grip! hope I explained it to you decently 😅 love this video! and you btw! yay for menstrual cups!
You look glorious!!!!! 😘
Also what is your lip colour!
+Jademsful she mentioned what color it was in her newest daily makeup routine vid! I would check that out :))
+Olivia Carey sweet thanks!!!!❤️
YOUR BANGS FUCK ME UP HOLY SHIT I WISH I COULD PULL THEM OFF
Just a small add on. For girls with a lighter flow or at the beginning or end of a cycle when there's less blood, I would suggest adding a little bit of lubricant (if you have any on hand) so that it ''drags'' less as it goes in. Personally, I only use the diva cup the first 2 days when my flow is heavy then just wear pantyliners. Also, the divacup is a real game changer in my opinion. I was VERY skeptical of it at first since I really wasn't a fan of tampons. The thing that pushed me over was that I would always have a situation when I would wake up with just pads as they would move during the night (I'm a very restless sleeper) and I would stain my sheets, underwear, etc. It happened only once with the divacup because I had it in for too long and it overflowed when I got out of bed but that was my fault.
OMG LOVE THE BANGS AAHH
My first diva cup is shipping from Amazon and I am really looking forward to it. Your voice is so clear that even my mother language is not English, I can understand it all! Thank you for your ideas and tips about Diva Cup! :))
I really like your voice
I've been considering switch to a cup and this was the most entertaining informal video I've watch on it. Good job haha
Personally, I hardly ever feel my tampons so the idea of feeling it constantly sounds terrible.
You don't feel it if you have the right cup and have it in correctly
When my flow is heavy and I have a tampon in, I have a constant feeling like a uti. But it goes away after the first day or two. :/
I have the Lunette cup and I can't feel it at all. I've actually forgotten that I was on my period!
doing it correctly, you shouldn't ever feel it.
When I wore tampons, I could feel them in there all the time no matter what I did. Also, I'd always get yeast infections. I switched to a cup and voila, no more yeast infections and no more feeling it in there. I only feel my cup when it's full.
she looks so good in this for so many reasons
Also watch ' precious stars pads ' channel, best menstrual cup channel.
I am so happy you did this video!!! Thank you for not being afraid to do this video. I feel period talk is so taboo and it's ridiculous. ALSO UR BANGS LOOK BANGIN GIRL So great.
Tampons are so comfortable to me so it's interesting to here you say that it's uncomfortable. But I am considering the diva cup because I have such a heavy flow and leak everywhere.
Do it!
