    Honestly just think about how lifesaving this would be for homeless people, like if people donated these instead of putting pads and tampons in those little care packages.

      Like I said in my previous post, I've left mine in by mistake for a full 24 hours before. NO WORRIES. Give it a try and take good care of yourself... and if you shop on AliExpress app you can get an excellent one for about $1.75 US. NO need to spend $30 bucks!

    So tmi but if you order the diva cup (size a, the smaller one) and you can't get it to work like me because it is huge (for me personally) and hurts, try the lily cup compact (smaller size)! It's the same concept but the silicone is softer and gentler and it feels a lot nicer! (Also same price and its compact)!! Hope this helps anyone that has a lil bit smaller lady bits!

    I'm coming back to this video to say thank you. I watched this video months ago and I finally got the gall to purchase a menstrual cup and I LOVE IT. It's only been one night and one day so far but I legit slept in it and no mess. I even splurged on some cute reusable menstrual pads for next month. Thank you for helping people who menstruate~ You are awesome, Meghan!!

    I prefer the Lunette cup over the Diva cup, but menstrual cups are awesome! :) To help with taking it out you should press gently on it with your finger to turn the cup into a U shape once you're about to pull the rim out. By pushing down on it will help it not hit your urethra and cause you pain. Precious Star Pads here on RUclips has a lot of great tips! :)
    Also Lunette has portable wipes you can take with you to clean it when you're in public :)

    • @lo3522

      Kat I am really leaning towards the lunette cup but haven’t seen many reviews on it. I have the intimina compact one but yet to use it. I’m new to this lol. Would the lunette be a good starter cup? I thought about MeLuna but I’ve heard from reviews the cup sticks to itself and makes it difficult to open. =\

    Just got my diva cup and I can say that I love it! Putting it in was fairly easy and I had no leakage. Taking it out was a bit tough because of the suction it has, but I got the hang of it. I can't even feel it when it's in me and all in all I love it. I heard I last a long time so now I'll save money not having to buy tampons!

    I 💞 MY CUP!! I've been using it for 2 years now and it's a dream. Sometimes I've been foolish and forgotten to take it out for about 24 hours, no joke... no leaking, no pain, no diseases, no infections because NOTHING sticks to silicone! For a wicked heavy flow girl it's a life saver.

    • @sirenofsound

      Pee comes from the urethra, which is located just above the vaginal opening. You can leave the cup in to go to the bathroom, and no urine will go inside of it.

      is it weird to wear normal pads nowadays? :/ im not judging or anything but im not american and where i live i think like 60% of us girls/women wear pads, instead everytime i listen girls from america talking about periods it seems like all of them wear tampons or menstrual cups. i mean is not so uncommon, i also wear tampons but not on a daily basis, but maybe pads are more confortable because they dont imply any sticking up? i know it's also not the most safe and hygienic thing to do

  • @supermshai
    @supermshai 8 лет назад

    I purchased the diva cup a couple years ago and it's the best thing that ever happened to my period! I have a decently light flow, aside from the first day, but no matter how heavy it works well. Wins over pads and tampons any day, it is definitely the most comfortable to sleep in, and maintenance throughout the day is a breeze. The hardest part to get used to was taking it out, but what I've found to work best is to pinch and fold the base after I push it out a little. It should be washed every now and again also, diva cup makes a cleanser specifically for it (which is the one that I use) but any sort of delicate soap like summers eve should do the trick! :) :)

  • @vicx0x0
    @vicx0x0 8 лет назад +19

    I don't think you explained insertion too well. You're supposed to angle it towards your tailbone. Sometimes if air doesn't get all the way in, it can't expand, and you have to push on the back wall of the vagina to get some air in there and it can be fully open. You then have to twist it 360 degrees so it's suctioned up there. You can also trim the little tip if your vagina isn't long enough to accommodate for it. I did and I can no longer feel it! Also be sure to make sure the four TINY holes near the top are clear of period goop because that's what causes the suction. I love my Diva Cup!

    just made the switch this last period and I'm so happy! it was pretty stressful trying to get it up there the first time because you're tense, but if you're patient with it and give yourself time the first while it becomes easy in no time. I have a crazy heavy flow, like new tampon every two hours on the worst days, so for me I can't leave it up there for more than 6ish hours on those days. but that's still so much better than before. I still get a tiny bit of leakage, but a panty liner takes care of that. if you have a normal/light flow, you could legit just change it once in the morning and once at night. honestly, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain so at least give it a shot!

    I love how down to earth and funny you were. Made it so relaxing to watch :)
    A tip for having to empty and clean it in public or even while in the workplace: I carry a water bottle with me and just rinse it with the water bottle that way. Or travel sized wet wipes are great for a quick clean. Last option: Walk in, grab some paper towels, wet them then head to the stall. Maybe you'll get funny looks but whatever. You do you.
    Best money I've ever spent switching to reusable's. Also have to shout out to reusable pads as well. A bit more work than the cup but so cute and easy to use.

  • @ChartardCJ
    @ChartardCJ 8 лет назад +3

    actually it DOES leak!!! if your flow is heavier it WILL leak. for me i have to empty it every hour and a half on my heaviest days or else it WILL leak. also when you wake up if your flow is heavy like mine it will be crazy in the morning so sleep with a cotton pad or something. hopefully your flow isnt as heavy as mine obviously, im on the more heavy set side. you have to wear it for about 2-3 months to gauge how heavy your flow is in the cup compared to pads and tampons and how frequently you, yourself, have to change YOUR cup and dont base it on how heavy or how frequently megan had to change hers. for the first few months i suggest wearing a panty liner or pad (because when it leaks it LEAKS like crazy.)

      Where your period is coming from is like a one way blood dropper, kind of. So that way the blood does not go back inside you.

    • @sssophie9292
      @sssophie9292 8 лет назад

      like what. I assume the blood does not have far to travel when it comes into the cup, and it goes pretty slowly. I reckon the muscles push it downwards regardless of which direction your body's in.
      It shouldn't be a problem.

    If your periods are that heavy, I would recommend going on a HCLF plant based diet. I literally only have to wear a panty liner 3 days out of the 5. The smallest sized pad for others. No bloating, mood swings, acne, cramps, or weird cravings. I have to say, probably the best thing I ever did for myself.

    • @siankavanagh3853
      @siankavanagh3853 8 лет назад +5

      I am HCLF and I still experience these things. Menstrual symptoms are completely normal, and for a lot of people, diet won't change that. I hardly get cramps since going vegan though! I do definitely think that diet can alleviate excess symptoms and veganism is amazing for general health, but I don't think there's a cure-all for everyone's period symptoms :)

    i was a faithful tampon user until i made the leap to the Diva cup and i noticed with tampons i would get SO SORE from the rubbing of the string and every time i'd use the bathroom i'd have to change it and then if it's dry you can tear the inside of the vaginal walls and it was HORRIBLE, but i hated pads soo much i'd just wear them and suffer through it. I'm SO GLAD more people are talking and using cups. it's a LIFE CHANGER. it actually made my period 2 whole days shorter too which is INSANE and i'm so excited.

      +Amy Fisher neither actually.. Periods in general suck but I'd rather wear a pad than stick silicone into my vagina. The pad is outside of my body therefore I feel less nervous

    I thought about trying this, but i wasn't sure if i should actually do it. I don't like feeling uncomfortable, but, I'd honestly take this over a tampon.

      They usually come with a little baggy that you keep it in when you're not on your period! And you can also wash the bag if any blood happens to get on it. Also, you can wear it while you sleep!

      For storage you can just keep it in the little pink clinch bag it comes it, just may sure to clean it well before storing. I keep mine in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. And as far as sleeping, I usually change it before bed and then again in the morning. As long as you insert it correctly there will be no leakage through out the night!

    I actually LOVE my divacup. I bought it at CVS for like $40 about a year ago. I havent used a tampon since. I still wear pads though because I'm super paranoid about leaking which can still happen with a cup if you don't insert it right. I've changed it at school like 3 times which was an awful experience. The first time I carried water with me to rinse and it didn't work as well as a sink. The school toilet paper sticks to the cup when it's wet too. I changed it in a dunkin' doughnuts bathroom once and it was just a gender neutral bathroom that didn't have stalls which was nice so I could actually clean it in the sink. I can actually sleep with it and it's not uncomfortable. I personally can't feel it in me so sometimes I forget. Some people say it stopped their cranping but not for me sadly. This all one jumbled up mess but I highly recommend a menstrual cup.

    Hei Meghan I've used a menstrual cup for a little over a year now and if it's uncomfortable for you to remove it or if it hurts I think you should try to squeeze the bottom part a little bit, because when it's inside you it basically "seals" itself because of the pressure and if you squeeze it a little it will loose a lot of its grip! hope I explained it to you decently 😅 love this video! and you btw! yay for menstrual cups!

    Just a small add on. For girls with a lighter flow or at the beginning or end of a cycle when there's less blood, I would suggest adding a little bit of lubricant (if you have any on hand) so that it ''drags'' less as it goes in. Personally, I only use the diva cup the first 2 days when my flow is heavy then just wear pantyliners. Also, the divacup is a real game changer in my opinion. I was VERY skeptical of it at first since I really wasn't a fan of tampons. The thing that pushed me over was that I would always have a situation when I would wake up with just pads as they would move during the night (I'm a very restless sleeper) and I would stain my sheets, underwear, etc. It happened only once with the divacup because I had it in for too long and it overflowed when I got out of bed but that was my fault.

      When I wore tampons, I could feel them in there all the time no matter what I did. Also, I'd always get yeast infections. I switched to a cup and voila, no more yeast infections and no more feeling it in there. I only feel my cup when it's full.
