What a coincidence, I was just working on a SIV 3-stack boardset today. This one has a graphical issue where the top half of the screen is also on the bottom half part, haven't found the problem yet but shouldn't be too difficult. Interesting too see the 2-stack board, I have never seen this one.
Did you know there is a good test rom for space invaders, it tests the roms, ram, sound and the shifter. About that shifter, there is an open source design for a repro for this on ukvac, and I think one of the romsets doesn't use the shifter, so it works without it, although I think it's a bit slower.
Too bad you already burned those color eproms, those bipolars are getting rare, and for this board you can actually build an adapter where you use one winbond 27c512 eeprom to replace both color proms. I'm planning to design a pcb that has multiple versions of the color proms which are changed/selected with the braze kit, but haven't come to it yet..
Have to be careful probing that 8224, I also fried one some time ago when my probe slipped and I shorted the 12v to another pin. There's an electronics store here that still has NOS, and they cost about $4, so if you're interested let me know.
Regarding those color 'lines', I'm not sure but I think that that board was configured for black and white, doing those mods like on the other board configured it for color. The black and white version had the cellophane coloured bands on the crt.

If you need Zilog Z80s for repairs, better make a bulk purchase NOW & not wait. June 14th is the cut off date. They announced in April the Z80 is being discontinued by them.

If a romset is not in ROMident, I always run it through MAME and make sure it's not an undumped set. Sometimes if there's actual bad bits, it will be obvious in MAME, as it will be on the hardware.
I've found a couple different versions of games that way on accident.
