Yes I think HE storms are strong. Sledges generally need something to supplement their chaff clear late game and storms do a good job of that. Only downside is you weaken the storms ability to break shields and kill giants.
@@n_sacco I've just always relied on fire for chaff clear and got the impression that was usually better. I used to be a huge fan of sledge storm a few months ago but teching storms at all now feels scary. I guess my follow up question is when is HE enough better than fire that it justifies making your shield break worse (especially on a comp like sledges which already hate barriers, forts and barrier forts in ascending order of never getting to retarget)
HE is 100 supply cheaper, HE doesn't kill your chaff and you don't have to tech sub crawler to survive your own fire. Of course the downsides are no shield brake/giant killing so you have to be confident you want to pigeonhole your storms into chaff clear. In this scenario, I knew my opponent was going forts so I would end up needing melters which solves those 2 weaknesses. Regarding feeling scared to tech stormcallers, this is definitely something to think about. You never want to 100% rely on storms or else your opponent will get insane value out of war factory AMing you and you will probably lose. I never really had that problem tbh. If they go WF, I'm usually in a comfortable spot to counter it, whether its emp sniper, vulcan ignite or scorpion acid.
Woah. That Wasp beacon read on the last turn was next level! :O
EZ Clap
HE storms on 501? Am I sleeping on something?
