No, the Bronco pickguards I tried didn't match up and left part of the control cavity open. I had to use the original white pickguard as a template to cut my own.
I just recently bought one of these. I didn't have all the issues you had but I would like to look at other pickups. Can you tell me the specific pickup you purchased? Thanks
@@JCtheGeek2187 Thanks, I appreciate it. I am happy with the guitar for the price point. I did find running the guitar into a small behringer mixer before the amp greatly improved the pickup sound and volume. And seemed to minimize some of the single coil buzz as well.
@@JCtheGeek2187A US made Musicmaster bass is essentially a vintage instrument now, and in a different pricing category than the currently mass produced Glarry. Yes, a Squire Bronco is priced about double the Glarry, but is almost a genuine Fender product.
@@larryn2682 yes, and is a better quality instrument than the Glarry was/is. I purchased one of the Sonic Bronco's in the web exclusive purple color and it was perfectly setup right out of the box and plays beautifully.
Nice mods, and the pickguard looks great! Is the neck reasonably slim around or is it a baseball bat like Glarry's full size P basses?
It is pretty slim. Definitely not chunky at all. I wouldn't keep it if it was. 😁
@@JCtheGeek2187 Thanks. I think I'll get one instead of another Bronco, do some routing and drop some Tbird pickups into it.
Is that a pickguard for a Bronco bass? Nice job, looks great

Great review and nice mods.
Where did you get the pickgaurd?
I cut it myself using the factory one as a template.

Of course! The pickup I used is a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Stratocaster bridge pickup. I'm pretty happy with the sound.

@@davmtu a good EQ can always make a huge difference!
The GFS rail pickup is also a (cheaper) excellent option - i've had one in my bronco for 6 years or so, and i love it!
Where can i find the pick guard
I custom cut the pickguard. It was the only option as Bronco pickguards didn't fit properly.
The Squire Bronco bass is nearly identical to the Fender Musicmaster bass that was produced in the USA from 1970-81.
Yes, that is correct. The price point on the Musicmaster basses is...MUCH higher than the Bronco or this Glarry. 🙂
