    I had the squire that this is copied from. It cost 199$ . This is a really close copy. I have seen them for a little over 100$. Squire Bronco.

      The Squire Bronco is copied from the old Fender Musicmaster bass.
      I just got an identical new Glarry short scale bass for $75 total, on eBay.

    I just bought one of these basses ,I'm a guitar player and all the good bass players in my area are all working already so I decided to get one of these and a loop pedal..I'm still learning how to use my pedal but it's fun looping a bass line then jamming over it on guitar

    I got one of these from Amazon. I noticed it had a 1.6in or roughly 42-43mm nut width, and ended up turning mine into. Bass vi/ baritone hybrid 😅

    cpui;d "synthetic" just refer to the pickguard being loosely referred to as part of the body? - A composite would add cost over whatever they could mill from the forest. Does the pickup squeal when volume is loud? Is the pickup wound on a bar magnet- - or are the pole pieces the magmet? I'm losing both arms' function fast - wore out shoulder impingement I think plus diabetes - if I can get help then might buy this bass. Right now I can barely more my arms w/o serious pain.

    Nice job! You mentioned that it was light, so is it very neck heavy?

    • @MyMusicMasterclass
      @MyMusicMasterclass  Год назад +2

      There is a bit of neck dive, but I wouldn't say the neck is heavy. It's more about the strap placement, etc.

    did you notice the pickups being very cold and distant from the strings? I had to pull out the springs from under the pickup to get maybe 63% volume. before than i had to run my gain at almost 5 and my volume around 7 to get a half decent volume for just in my home. on my other basses i dont go past a volume of 2 on my markbass rig. Any ideas?

    Is the neck a baseball bat (thick and round) or is a slimmer neck? I ask because I have a full sized Glarry, and the neck is too thick around for me to enjoy for faster playing. I was thinking it would be a good base to put a Fralin stacked single in. BTW, my long scale Glarry is made of Empress wood, which is super light but also on the soft side. Thanks for the review!

    • @MyMusicMasterclass

      The neck isn't thick in my opinion. Also, you may want to check out my other video regarding the Fralin: ruclips.net/video/rmRYKiLTx98/видео.htmlsi=xFA_dBTB7oB9IZVe

    Adam, thanx for letting me waste some of your time with a few questions about this Glarry short-scale bass. Very few (3?) YT reviews. 1...Is it the typical Glarry baseball bat neck? The Bronco, which it copies, has a 1.5"/38mm Jazz-type neck. This has a P-style 1.62"/42mm. 2...Is the fretboard gloss or unfinished maple? 3...They have upgraded the pup to 7k for a fuller sound...with the 2 wires in 1 you showed, any problem separating the wires for an easy connection? Wish these guys made a P-Bass shorty. Cheers! ~Tim in SoCal

      Hi Tim, the neck is comfortable for me to play and definitely doesn’t feel like a super thick “baseball bat neck”. It’s thinner than many P-basses I’ve played over the years, but I guess everyone has a different idea of what “thick” is to them. But for me, I like it. The fretboard is unfinished. As for the pickup, it was super easy to replace and both wires separated out to make the connections. I highlighted that because I was confused when I first opened up the bass, but the 2 wires clearly broke out and hit their respective solder spots. Hope this helps!

      @@MyMusicMasterclass Thanx for replying, Adam. I'm still researching this bass...an unfinished neck will eventually get dirty, I'll need to spray it with clear lacquer. I'm looking at a Guitar Fetish Lil Killer rail humbucker, 10k for $25...should do the trick. The bass is $95, total $102, free shipping. I'll send some pics after I spruce it up. Thanx again. ~Tim

    I wish they just made the short scale a P-Bass - cheaper pickups/guitar are always going to be a little noisier so having a hum cancelling pickup would be really nice.

    I just ordered one from ebay. There was a special sale going on for 20 percent off and the seller was selling these for around 75. So after tax and discount, I spent around $66.36 in usd for it. Red finish. Looking forward to it, even if it turns out to be a turd.

    • @l0rd0ct0d0rk
      @l0rd0ct0d0rk Месяц назад

      @@corpsie666 I replaced the stock pickup with a 50s tele styled pickup, and switched the tone capacitor from .056 (.057? I get the numbers mixed up) to .1 (more appropriate for that era tone) which has helped it get a boomier bass sound like I wanted.
      Surprisingly, out of the box it turned out to be playable. I tweaked the bridge height and intonation, it's my 6th bass overall, but my first short scale, and honestly, it's pretty decent for what I paid for it. No sharp frets, or anything of that sort, holds a tune pretty well, and the Musicman style bridge isn't half bad either.

    It's Paulownia wood. aka Phoenix wood. the most eco friendly and the 2nd lightest wood on earth.

    • @MyMusicMasterclass
      @MyMusicMasterclass  5 месяцев назад +2

      The website and all documentation says basswood.

    • @RJsCave
      @RJsCave 5 месяцев назад

      @@MyMusicMasterclass I know but that's something they've been saying since they started selling online back when ebay was the king of online sales. they don't expect people to know what Paulownia so they call it basswood is but if you look up pictures of basswood it looks NOTHING like the wood you have there. No other wood is as light as paulownia and can still be used for building things like furniture and guitars. It is literally the cheapest wood to use that works for guitar bodies. It's the only wood you can use in guitar building which will always produce a solid body guitar that is under 6 pounds. It has great multicolor grain that looks exactly like what you have in your hand. every basswood body guitar on earth is definitely heavier than what that guitar weighs. They call it poor man's mahogany because aside from being softer than mahogany it's got very similar characteristics. BTW there is no such type of wood as burly wood. there is no tree called burlywood. It's a type of grain structure created when fungus gets in the tree causing the grain to grow funny, it's conisidered a type of rot because the wood is weakened from it. so is flame and curly wood.

      Yeah, I've read your reviews on this instrument, since you've posted in a few spots online. I disagree though. Although cheap and without expensive components, I like this bass with the pickup mod I made here: ruclips.net/video/rmRYKiLTx98/видео.html. I personally think it's an interesting vehicle for upgrades, but that's just my opinion :)

    I’ve never understood why so many basses lack a neck pickup .

    • @MyMusicMasterclass
      @MyMusicMasterclass  2 месяца назад

      If all basses had a neck pickup, there would be no iconic P-Bass or Stingray. A neck pickup doesn't necessarily help a bass sound better. With certain configurations it helps and in others it hurts.

      @@fromchomleystreet Sounds like it's your personal preference and everyone is different. I prefer to get the sound from my hands whether using a P-Bass (split coil center mounted), J-Bass (neck & bridge) or something completely different. I never specifically need a neck pickup to get any of my tones including deep bass, but that's just my preference.
