STOP APOLOGIZING FOR HAVING FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS! X was an AMAZING artist. Sad to see him go so young. Happy you were able to hear this and experience his work.
Been listening to him since I was like 14, 20 now which is surreal to me because I'm now the same age he was when he died. He seemed much older to me when I was younger and I miss his energy dearly.
This music video released after he passed on June 18th 2018 at the age of 20 years old due to 4 masked men robbing and shooting him while he sat in his car. This video shows X fighting his older self with the black and blonde dreads like he used to have during his mugshot that was very popular. You might like the Moonlight music video if you haven't seen it yet but I do recommend listening to his albums 17, "?" and Skins.
X is my favorite artist of all time. The more you listen, the more youll become a part of his mind. Some of these songs will pull you into a part of your mind you didnt know you had. I love him so much.
Just a little background on how culturally important X was and still is for hip hop/music culture, as a whole: X was basically almost undeniably agreed upon to the next big music icon, and to be the torch barrer/passed the torch for the next generation of hip hop. And thats why Drake absolutely HATED him. Because X was basically everything drake wasn't, and X could do everything he could do at a substantially higher level. He could sing, rap, produce, and do multiple subgenres of hip hip, as well as multiple genres of music, as well. On top of that he was young, good looking, and had the image and persona that resonated and attracted so many people. He basically had it all and was "That Guy". He was basically guaranteed to be the next big thing, and drake knew it and felt threatened by it because X was just flat better than him in every facet and had many things drake could never obtain. Drake had successfully kept a monopoly on mainstream hip hop by gatekeeping lots of young up coming artists out of the genre with his industry ties/tactics. X had successfully broken through that because his fanbase and following was undeniable at that point due to his undeniable talent. Whether Drake hired a hitman to eliminate Xxxtentacion is up on the air, but that's the background. And it was confirmed by numerous sources that drake felt extremely threatened by X. And drake continues to drop subliminal disses and references towards X's death to this day, which is what makes it all the more scummy. Ironically, Kendrick Lamar loved Xxxtentacion and was planning to work with him, which is what makes Kendrick destroying drake that much more sweet and satisfying and a huge moment for the culture. Kendrick absolutely hated how Drake intentionally was gatekeeping out younger, up and coming artists. When Kendrick decided to go at Drake, he wasn't just doing it for himself. He was doing it in tribute to X and all the artists that were being gatekept out of the industry and hip hop culture as a whole, in addition to all the victims of abuse/human trafficking/disgusting PDF files. X was basically a main influencing factor for that whole beef, which is what makes it all the more all the more satisfying and beautiful. Although X was taken from us too soon, he and his fanbase were ultimately able to finally obtain some closure, justice, and peace with Kendrick doing what he did. RIP X 💜💜💜😊. 😢. You were a king taken from us too soon.
No matter how many years pass by I'd always listen to his magical music work😭❤ still can't get over from the pain of losing this Fckn amazingly talented Man 💔LLJ🕊
I was never a fan of the sad boy era of hip hop but even I can recognize that X was unique from his peers. An extremely talented individual that was taken too early
Youve got it partly right for sure and truly we all look at things with a different perspective. But it's definitely a fight against himself. A older version that he killed through growth and finding peace. It gets to a point where it becomes so easy to control that side of him. This is displayed when he's able to fight with his mind. Showing how powerful the mind actually is.
i started listening to X 2016ish, i was 14, im 21, almost 22 now. his music helped me through some very dark times in my life. i was in a therapy session when i heard of his passing and i was so upset. its wild to think that im now 2 years older than he was when he passed, i feel weird thinking about that ever since i turned 20. im older now than the person who gave me the strength to push forward. i still listen to his music, and it still has the same affect. love the vid, please react to more X!
So basically in the whole video he’s killing his old self (blonde and black era of x) at the end of the video he’s laying his old self to rest the whole video is him fighting his past and at the end he’s laying his past to rest
X is his nickname btw and if you wanna listen more of him you should listen to "Moonlight" music video by xxxtentacion, his real name is Jahseh btw. You should also listen to "lean wit me" music video by Juice WRLD, juice WRLD and X were friends btw but they never met, they only talked on DMs. Juice WRLD real name is Jarred btw.
X would’ve liked your positive and uplifting energy even though he had a hard time showing it he was a very positive guy despite what the internet would tell you, he just grew up with a bad hand dealt to him.
The background for the song SAD is talking about how X's experiences with depression and his thoughts of suicide (also how he felt in his relationship) and also his regrets in the past. (Hope that helps keep the content going!)
This video is crazy, because he is killing his old self to become a better person and this video came out around the time he died so watching video was very bittersweet. It is such a great video and song, but makes you so sad.
No, I feel like u really understood it deeply, even with how little context you had/have, just off of vibe basically, which speaks volumes about your empathy - which is why id be so interested and hope you decide to delve a bit more into X, because sad is really just the tip of the iceberg - hes got songs to break one's heart and songs to change one's life... a generational talent man RIPX
oo also this video resembles a meaning that you can change into a good person and evolve your self into positivity, his voice is live an angle, also sometimes demon cause hype in his past songs ...
Its about him fighting against his old self and burying his old self to change who he was to become someone one better and all that.Thats why he dyed his hair blue from blonde
xxxtentacion is the voice of youth, cause in his past self black and blond hair was the bad x, now he turned into blue x aka indigo, resembles positivity and change the world into better place, his songs cured depressed people and suicidal people, i Haily recommend album 17 just react to it' i won't give spoilers ......
I’ve heard the song but never seen video. The video does go in depth more with depression and struggle of life and death. It’s July cries maybe August will be more average hopefully
I recommend listening to let’s pretend were numb by X and if you’re willing to do full album reactions i recommend reacting to his album called 17 i would love to see that
Awww 🥰 ok it’s so nice to meet u!!! I was nervous to try out this area in music but if it’s something you like I’ll def check out more!! I was really enjoying X as well but if you have suggestions on which songs to do next I’d appreciate it. Cause I have no idea where to go to from here haha
True story. When this first dropped I was playing this while having "relations" with my ex girlfriend and she stopped and said I'm sorry but can you please change the music? This is very sad. I said guess what the name of the song is. RIP X
Can you react to smile by Michael Jackson official video? Very different recommendation but I’d just really love to see you react to it. It’s so beautiful
You should listen to some new bay area artists some have passed away, but I’ll still give you some names EBK JaayBo traumatized, young Slo-be, bris,EBK Young jock, and for for sure listen to weez gotti any song of his goes hard

X was such a diverse artist, he has multiple metal, rock and indie songs too.

Seeing X defeat his old self and lay it to rest still one of the hardest music videos🔥
I was never a fan of the sad boy era of hip hop but even I can recognize that X was unique from his peers. An extremely talented individual that was taken too early
