Super cool. I’m so impressed that you built that. You thought of everything. They make runaway campers that don’t have everything you have and they are $10,000 plus. Loved the video!
🌹 So, so very clever Dalton - you have thought of everything. Amazing. 👏 Very educational video. I hope many young guys see this video - it might inspire and encourage them to see what is possible - and how to improve their camping adventures. You are such a resourceful young guy !!!!⭐ Thanks for a great video. 🌹
I discovered poor man's fiberglass last year on RUclips. Sure wish I'd found out about it 25 yrs ago. You're too hard on yourself, it's not supposed to be perfect. It's supposed to be used and enjoyed. I've built so many different campers and vans, by the time your older you'll have the process down to a science. I've found doing it as simple as possible is the best approach. As soon as you add on a bunch of conveniences you find you never use them. Even now I've been thinking of buying a used pickup and building a small camper to slide in it. Been camping for most of 75 yrs, its hard to give it up.
I’m considering all kinds of future options. I thought about buying an old long bed and building out a slide in camper for a while. And i’ve also been thinking a lot about concerting an ambulance into a camper. But whats most likely is another camper trailer. A little nicer and bigger next tine
Nice build, Dalton, form follows function, you obviously thought this project through with/for your camping needs. Appreciate your concern for the personal safety aspects.
Your a pretty smart guy ! Very resourceful !! Looks pretty comfy as long as you remember to turn that heater off before you fall asleep!! Like watching your videos 😊
Get a 100 watt solar panel from harbour freight to charge the power stations. Dont worry about its not perfect,it is your personal taste and tha tis fine. Only thing i have thought you put a rv roof vent for air and a bit more light and air.
Man there are people living so poorly they have to consider one of these to live out of and you have a whole functional setup you are just recreationally car camping with. Doesn't matter if its pretty, it is functional and the time you spend in it will be memories you keep forever. The only improvements i can think of are: Consider sealing it 100% against water and keeping it in your property, especially if you get a carport or garage big enough for it to keep it directly out of the elements (the wood racks on the roof will eventually rot if constantly exposed to water and i don't trust HF stuff much against rust). I don't know your living situation but paying for a storage unit when you have a house feels like an avoidable expense. But I would think that is something planned among many projects. Also weld the tongue to the trailer and get a trailer lock to deter theft if you keep it in the open unattended (do this for all trailers not kept in fenced area). Other than that, some dual use stuff that you can get some miles out of outside of camping, even if only for emergencies. A camping solar panel that can be kept in the trailer and/or possibly used on job sites without power access to avoid fuel expense on a generator or your truck alternator. Something folding but still portable, at least 100w, there are sales every so often on amazon to get one for a few hundred $. Even if power is cheap where you are, it can pay for itself if do not have direct power access, its nice to have if there is an outage. The heater is effective and you are very smart for taking carbon monoxide protections but personally i would of just gone with an UCO tea candle lantern with a pack of cheap 8 hour tea candles. You already have the heater though, so tea candles would just be a backup at best at this point. Of which they are useful besides camping as a single one can keep a small room just above freezing in the event you lose power at your house in the winter. Yeah they are not super necessary now, but the tea candle lantern is only ~$20, the candles are ~$15 for a hundred and the mini lantern with 2 candles stored inside is the size of a soda can.
Yeah the storage unit is temporary while I’m still living in my apartment. Even once i get it completely weatherproofed I’ll definitely still at least keep it under a tarp
cool trailer, I like how compact it is. Question, can you turn the spare tire mount around and slide it up so that the tire sits on the inside of the tongue and won't hit the truck when you make a sharp turn?
As others have said, you are pretty resourceful! It's not the Waldorf but that isn't the point. You sure created everything that is needed. You could go into business with stuff like this.
Some of those powerbanks can be recharged with a solar panel. Harber freight sells a 100 watt one that works with the small ones like yours if they accept solar charging.
Do you have a filter on that heater? You are supposed to use a filter when hooked up to a hose like that. Apparently the pressure in the hose can make oils leach out of the hose and can clog your heater if you don't have the filter. Those heaters are kind of pricey and worth a $10 filter to prolong the lifespan of them. Also would an exhaust fan set to pull air out help with the carbon monoxide issue so you could keep the heat on?
@@MA-mh1vs yeah the house has a filter in it. The exhaust vent would probably keep it safe but it’s just not worth the risk to me. I plan to upgrade to electric heat eventually. That is completely safe
I think you have earned a degree. B.Des. - Bachelor of Design. A you were describing your build, I would think of things I would have done. But wait, watch a little more, and you have done them.
Dude….Harbor Freight needs to sponsor your channel!
Agree! I for one see no downside to sponsorship. Why not let the big guys pay you for honest product evaluation?
Haha that would be nice!

Oh I know that’s where my original inspiration came from. I saw some tiny ones with everything mine has for $16-$18k online
You thought of everything! That sure beats a tent! 🇨🇦❤️
No doubt about it!

Thank you! I got all my ideas from youtube builds so i figured i’d put mine out there to contribute!

Think about building one out of 2" ridged strofome insulation panels covered with poor man's fiberglass. Super light and very strong.
@@Captain-Max i’ve seen a lot of people do that. It’d definitely be strong! Easy material to work with too
I love watching your projects! Thanks for sharing! I'm amazed at how handy and problem-solving you are
Thank you! Glad you enjoy watching!
Nice job!!
“It’s not impressive at all”.
Well, I’m very impressed! 😍

Haha well thanks!
Super cool setup.
Alright man, you did an amazing job on that!

I really hope once you got 1m subs you still build things like this!! Such a cool idea and way more realistic then most 'diy' projects out there :D
Well who knows if we’ll ever make it there haha but i’m sure i’ll stay the same no matter what!
👍💯 Awesome build! 👏

You have created something to be proud of. You will probably start seeing more of these on the road soon.
Wow. This is great! You are so talented and are a visionary!! We love it. ❤. Keep giving us updates. Don’t change too much as it’s perfect already!!
Thanks so much!
Practical. Appreciate what worked or didn’t work tips. I’m going to do one out of foam. Thanks

Harbor Freight again!🤗
21:50 i have a roof vent with a fan in it already
I would really like to have some kind of solar charging option
Thanks Dalton. My husband and I are exploring a cargo trailer for camping. This gives us some good ideas.
Hope it goes well for you guys! Its definitely fun
If you want to make the table look better when it is up, put a picture inside the frame. Either realistic or just humorous which ever suits you.

Build another one just like it , do a video about it at least three part series .Your channel will go crazy. Just like the excavator videos

Once i get a little farther along with the house I’m gonna make all kinds of videos finishing this one and then building a new one

To weatherize the window just put a little bead of caulking around the edges. Problem fixed. This trailer has everything you need . cool.

Maybe consider a deep cycle battery and a solar panel with small controller to run the lights water pump and to charge your other power banks
Enclosed keeps rain out is awesome people need theses things if you build and sold them for say 3000 they sell asap
Keep an eye on the wheel bearings..

Home Depot sells their trailers that they rent out after they're about 4or 5 years old.
