With my thanks for showing where this button is in the different models. I had someone wriying down about resetting....but not how to find the reset button. (was another model than mine). Also resetting seems to solve my connecting issues (bluelink app) and navigation only working with internal info before reset...which takes much to long before giving the fastest route. (and a good working navigation is crucial , if not lifes saving, for a physician.)
This question has come up before, and I unfortunately can’t be sure, I don’t believe it does, but all you can do is look at the current software model before you do the update and then check it again after🙂 if you do, just let me know as it would answer a question for a few people on this video

Hi Brian, I recently bought a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. My Apple Carplay is setup by the head unit to be on the left hand drive but I live in Indonesia 🇮🇩 with right hand drive. Will resetting the head unit help switch from LHD to RHD?
@@doolanbrian so the menu buttons are on the left side of the screen and closer to reach by the person sitting on the left side of the car. I’ve been trying to set the menu buttons to the right side of the screen so its closer to me (because of right hand drive).
@@arya4493 I don’t think there is a way to change around the display of Apple CarPlay on the screen, my understanding was that it was the same for all markets but I could be completely wrong here, so you might be educating me on this one! I’m not aware of a way to switch it around, all you can do is do the reset and it won’t do the vehicle any harm🙂👍
@@ndidzulafhinetshikhophani9427 I presume the radio you have is a older style analog LCD screen? I’ve just looked at a 2016 one and they don’t have a reset button externally, in that case I would advise disconnecting the battery on the vehicle, If still unsuccessful visit a dealer, hope this helps

@@zandy1099 unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to be a simple reset .. sometimes in those cases, I have asked people to disconnect the 12 V battery from the vehicle for 30 minutes and then reconnect again to reboot everything, but after that if unsuccessful than the issue most likely lies within the head unit itself
If you sit in the car with the ignition off, but the radio is on, it starts to discharge your 12 V battery, so the advice is to keep the car running while you use the radio

Hi i just replaced my battery on my i30 but now my clock wont display, when i go to clock settings its greyed dashes, the only thing i can change is 12h to 24h . Ive tried resetting but no change, any idea what to do?
I’m not aware of that unit … as a last resort I would disconnect the batttey of the car and reconnect after about 20 mins to see if radio resets .. after that visit the dealer 🙂
I tried both of these methods today on my 2022 Tucson.. (10 inch screen) and they didn't work. My radio just went silent the other day. I was sitting at a red light. Didn't touch anything. And still today it won't work. The "beep" when u touch anything isn't there, XM is still playing songs but it is Silent. I can't even turn on my regular Radio and hear anything. The stations won't play. It's weird. Everything works when i click the screen and stuff but nothing beeps and there is no noise at all. I have no idea what's going on.
@@doolanbrian Thanks for the informational video. I actually went to one of my friends and asked if we could just pull the fuse and see what happens. It was all i needed to do. Lol. Must have been loose or overloaded. Who knows but the problem is resolved now.
The software should not fail, have you tried it yet? For example, however, if it does fail , download the software onto a different USB and retry, I haven’t come against the issue yet🙂🫡

The old radios probably don’t have the button, in that case I would disconnect the cars 12v battery on the vehicle for 20 minutes and then reconnect to see if the radio has restarted🙂
Mine is frozen on the Hyundai logo. Radio still plays. None of the multimedia buttons will work nor will it connect to multimedia. It just stopped the other day. Pulled and checked fuses, unplugged battery . When it went out my audio was faded to the front, and now I can reset that either because of the screen being frozen. Hell!!!

@@doolanbrian I've tried both of those methods already. I'm starting to think the head unit just went bad and there's nothing else I can do but replace it. But the radio still play, seek and track buttons still work, just nothing else. No multimedia will work at all, it's almost like the multimedia is frozen somehow and there's no way to master reset it without the screen working. From what I've found anyways.
@@kevinward4635 i’ve seen similar issues over the years, there are people that can replace the boards within the unit that go faulty , if it was me, however I would probably see can you find another similar model car in a wrecking yard and purchase the radio or try eBay🙂
@@dudesca I don’t think they have the same reset in that year .. I would disconnect the 12v battery in the car for 30 mins and then reconnect just to see if it will re boot After that you’ll need an auto electrician who specialises in radios to look at it as there will be a damaged board possibly 🙂👍

Hi , I'm having trouble updating the navigation system on my 2022 Sonata Hybrid . I downloaded and installed the latest navigation update, but I keep getting an error message that says the "Audio update file is corrupted" and needs to be redownloaded. I've tried redownloading and reinstalling the update twice, but the message persists. I even tried downloading the navigation update for the 2021 model year (since my car was built in October 2021), but unfortunately, the same error appeared. Any advice on how to fix this and get the navigation update to work properly?

Okay, unfortunately we don’t get that model in Ireland so I’m not familiar, you could try to disconnect the battery of the car, leave it for 15 minutes and then reconnect to see if the radio reboots?
I’ve had some problems this week with blue link, in some cases, I’ve had to remove the app from my phone and download it again reconnect, also it’s prudent to do the reset on the radio at the same time, and then try and reconnect afterwards, unfortunately it hasn’t solved some of the issues I’m having this week, before this week I had no problems so there could be some issue with the app that is being worked on

I have a Hyundai Accent 2021 and I have done everything but blow the damn car to bits, and it STILL will NOT get rid of the radio presets. I have done a reset via the hole, pulled the radio fuse, gotten a brand new AGM battery, and I even asked the dealership how to get rid of them, and they did not know. They told me to do a hard reset, but your hard reset option does not appear on my car. There is no default option in the system info section. What in the hell do I have to do to get rid of these radio presets?!

@@gerryharney438 unless you can see a small pin sized hole on the dash around the radio I’m unaware of any other way to do it .. I’ve nothing with them same radio in the yard at the moment sorry! .. if she’s goosed and you need a replacement one surely you’d get a cheap one out of a car breakers yard ..

It should turn off once you open the door and lock the car, but I have heard of people experiencing your similar issues. So glad this helped!

Okay, you’ve got to visit the dealer on that one, if the two resets don’t work unfortunately it is more like hardware😳 sorry, I couldn’t help better

All done with updates but not resolved..... Still shows communication error 8.... Even reset and rebooted my hyndai radio device

Thank you. Never knew this. For my 2022 Tucson the radio was working but with no sound. I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery, waited 15 minutes, hooked it back up and the sound was back. But for how long?
Your way works well also !! These radios get jammed up so a quick reset should sort it if it happens again !

I'm having trouble updating the navigation system on my 2022 Sonata Hybrid . I downloaded and installed the latest navigation update, but I keep getting an error message that says the "Audio update file is corrupted" and needs to be redownloaded. I've tried redownloading and reinstalling the update twice, but the message persists.
I even tried downloading the navigation update for the 2021 model year (since my car was built in October 2021), but unfortunately, the same error appeared.
Any advice on how to fix this and get the navigation update to work properly?

@@doolanbrian Nope not Black. Suddenly when i did started the car an hour ago there was a message : waiting for recovery ' on the screen. I tried to reset but keeps coming back.. Got the fuse out and in.. But same story..You can hear the radio but cant control anything. Not on the display or steering wheel..
@@zandtussenjetenen I would try disconnecting the 12 V battery for 30 minutes and then reconnecting to see with that reboot it?

Thanks for your help in this video. Unfortunately, the GD-03 unit in 2017 i-30 is stuck on the boot screen, even after reseting it. It won't respond to any touch input so am unable to do a default reset. Any suggestions?
Disconnect the battery for 10 mins .. after that, if it doesn’t reboot you need to visit the dealer 🫤

I have a Hyundai Accent 2014 and I can’t reset it at all. There is a button above the volume dial but when I press it nothing happens. There is also not setting that I can access to do the full reset. Pls help 😭
Okay, unfortunately we don’t get that model in Ireland so I’m not familiar, you could try to disconnect the battery of the car, leave it for 15 minutes and then reconnect to see if the radio reboots?

Does resetting a bluelink system make you reconnect your bluelink?
I’ve had some problems this week with blue link, in some cases, I’ve had to remove the app from my phone and download it again reconnect, also it’s prudent to do the reset on the radio at the same time, and then try and reconnect afterwards, unfortunately it hasn’t solved some of the issues I’m having this week,
before this week I had no problems so there could be some issue with the app that is being worked on

I have 2023 Palisade and my system just froze up and kept giving me a pop up of “feature unavailable during a call” even though I wasn’t on the phone. This cleared it up instantly. Thank you!

I have a Hyundai Accent 2021 and I have done everything but blow the damn car to bits, and it STILL will NOT get rid of the radio presets. I have done a reset via the hole, pulled the radio fuse, gotten a brand new AGM battery, and I even asked the dealership how to get rid of them, and they did not know. They told me to do a hard reset, but your hard reset option does not appear on my car. There is no default option in the system info section. What in the hell do I have to do to get rid of these radio presets?!
Does your radio look like the one in the video in other words is it an 8 inch or 10 inch screen?

Oooh .. I can’t think of the top of my head and I don’t have one in stock, where are you based? If you’re near us just call in, just curious why do you need to reset ? Is it a problem with reverse camera or the radio
Radio working ,reverse camera working.The only thing appearing on the screen is the Hyundai symbol.
Was goingnto reset the unit hoping it might solve the problem
@@gerryharney438 unless you can see a small pin sized hole on the dash around the radio I’m unaware of any other way to do it .. I’ve nothing with them same radio in the yard at the moment sorry! .. if she’s goosed and you need a replacement one surely you’d get a cheap one out of a car breakers yard ..
