I just wanted to let you know that I finally pulled the trigger on the phoenix! I opted for the ghost boost combo as I heard that the exploding shoulders were fixed. I had some pretty odd QC problems but the figure is solid! Thanks for your reviews in helping me make the decision!
It was, as I enjoyed both Transformers and Robotech back in the '80s. The Jetfire toy is my favourite TF cause I used to play with it for either Robotech or TF. I'm also looking foreword to picking up the Bandai 1/55 25th Anniversary Transforming VF-1S Figure, to bad they can't do another proper Jetfire.
Original video animation, animated films and series which are made specially to be released on home video formats. The majority are released direct-to-video, without prior showings on TV or in theatres
True, but from the Macross designer Shōji Kawamori chronology makes sense. The nose does look a bit like the YF-19. But I didnt have one to compare it to back then. Thats my very first Macross model.
If anyone is thinking about getting this guy nows the time, the pre-orders are up everywhere for the second release which has many fixes over the original and includes all the fixes that came with the ghost bundle.
@GojoOniiChan It depends on why type of pose you're trying, have you google the FlexiDisplay, if you look it's just three legs that are movable and then you balance the model on it. I've seen it work well with GERWALK
So far the shoulder joints are looking ok, but the right shoulder is a little loose, so I removed both of the shoulder armor and rescreewed. But the ball joint is still loose. In the other reviews you see the landing gear flap get such into the leg and one of the plastic "lights" feel off coz of cheap gluuuue.
@GojoOniiChan For this guy I use the "FlexiDisplay 4-Inch Version 2 Display Stand" and it works perfectly. There's also Yamato's display stand for Macross but it's quite costly, it's about to be reissued.
@Wizartar yup, i know that there are 1/72 scale from Hasegawa since i had made some before, the reason i want to get it transformable is this Valkyrie is one of my favorite and i want it to be equal scale with my Macross frontier valks. i won't be getting one from hlj for now since i am getting 1/60 VF-1J hikaru custom. your video reviews are great btw
These turn up pretty frequently on eBay, along with most of the other Macross figures by Yamato. The prices are usually reasonable, but be prepared to pony up on the shipping and handling costs.
Last I heard, the U.S. government was in the process of shredding all remaining F-14 Tomcats in hopes that Iran (the only remaining country to have it in service) does not get any spare parts.
Sorry sorry I get em confused..... I've only gotten to watch some of Macross Frontier haven't gotten to Macross Zero yet. But still! That Variable fighter is beautiful!
It feels like a transformable model kit not an actually figure/toy. While really nice, at times it feels like you could break it. It's not in the same class as the 1/60 v2, not even close. As long as you take care it should be fine. But if you watch my transformation videos, the gems likes to pop out and it's got a loss shoulder, but all in all, that's good for this guy as it's got a bad QC reputation. All I'll say is buyer beware
oh boy nice i loved it the VF-0 i want one, cool yamato relase again the VF-0 series Yhea i have the VF-1s max type my beautiful girlfriend wife give one on xmas, but always love this but not on sale on that time. by the way i love my ISABEL.
They tried to make it look like the F-18 with a variable wing of an F-14. How do I know?? Look at the tails and see if you can tell a difference from the real thing.
After getting the 1/48 & 1/60 VF-1 its more obvious the problems this guy has. It feels very weak compared to the other two scales. I still think its worth getting, but I'm more careful with this guy then any of the others as it feels like I could break him at times
finally someone made a review!! great one by the way, this figure is huge! could you make a review transforming it? will be awesome, how much did u pay for this one? chek out my videos. AWESOME REVIEW, MAKE MORE PLEAAAAAASEEEE

If anyone is thinking about getting this guy nows the time, the pre-orders are up everywhere for the second release which has many fixes over the original and includes all the fixes that came with the ghost bundle.
No, the legs stay attached, but the leg armor can be removed easily. I'll do a transformation video very soon.

Hiya, Your reviews are beautiful. So did you get into Valkerie because of Transformers Jetfire by any chance?
VF-25 with armored pack... Yes that would be nice.

Last I heard, the U.S. government was in the process of shredding all remaining F-14 Tomcats in hopes that Iran (the only remaining country to have it in service) does not get any spare parts.
@Wizartar Does that support gerwalk mode?
@Wizartar Does the FlexiDispaly support gerwalk mode? And how much angle can you do with that stand compared to Yamato's stand?
Like I said above, I got this one from Hobby Link Japan
Is it a reissue??? I don't know now to tell. Is there a different number?
Sorry sorry I get em confused..... I've only gotten to watch some of Macross Frontier haven't gotten to Macross Zero yet.
But still! That Variable fighter is beautiful!
"it took 15 min to find.." ahsuiahusisa
where can i buy these on the internet? cuz i cant buy it in any store in sweden.
@whiteangel0004 check somewhere like amiami or hlj to see what it goes for at the moment.
that makes it G.E.R W.A.L.K? or is it meant to be that way? plus i love this model, might get it my self some day
That was some crazy s**t I think I just pooed in my pants

wished there is transformable 1/72 scales, since 1/60 is too big for me i guess
HobbyLink Japan HLJ is used by a number of people
is this worth grabbing man
Cut the guy some slack.
@acp1778 HLJ, Amiami, Hobbysearch (1999). Shop around at the moment and you can get better value.
It's over priced, but how overpriced depends on were you buy it from.

Fail. Not robotech at all dude. It's all about Macross. robotech = a failed ripoff of 3 anime TV series. Plain and simple.
thanks :)
