Ralph / we almost lined up “ perfectly on top ten. I remember your dog story when we met on night of Roger Waters. So sad. Like I said I met Marie ( my wife) on the day I buried my almost 16 yr old German shepherd. My brother Thomas ( RIP) favorite movie. Big trouble in Little China. Great show Steve. K & all hosts. Ralph, love you brother. Happy: HEALTHY to all 👍💯
My memory from 79 was december. Here in cleveland. Just a couple days after the cincinnati incident. They cancelled the next show in buffalo but played here a couple days later. I had 3rd row. And, i was at that World series of rock he mentioned. Scorps, acdc, thin lizzy , journey, nugent, aerosmith
1. AC/DC - Highway to Hell 2. Gillan - Mr. Universe 3. Thin Lizzy - Black Rose: A Rock Legend 4. Van Halen II 5. Pink Floyd - The Wall 6. Rainbow - Down to Earth 7. Blackfoot - Strikes 8. Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' with Disaster 9. Scorpions - Lovedrive 10. Motorhead - Overkill
That story about Freddie and rob recognising one another, it's the old saying that it takes one to know one. One thing I've heard coming up on different podcasts before was the question of how did priest not go on to remain huge like maiden did. I can tell you for sure from my experience is that rob being gay turned an awful lot of macho metal heads off of priest. Homosexuallity wasn't widely excepted back then in the 80s and early 90s. I got into metal from my oldest brother who was big into acdc and iron maiden, deep purple, Sabbath etc. but he wouldn't listen to poison or even wasp or any of the glam stuff because he said they were f.gs. That's why I never heard those bands until years later because he never bought any of their albums.
