Should I get treated for bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy?

- You mentioned that you have bacterial vaginosis (also known as BV), and you recently found out that you're pregnant, and you're wondering if that may affect the pregnancy at all. And generally speaking, symptomatic vaginal infections should be treated in a timely manner at any time, but especially during pregnancy, because there is some research to suggest that bacterial vaginosis can put a woman at greater risk for preterm delivery. So talk with your doctor about it, and they'll determine if treatment is warranted. A good rule of thumb in general is just to talk with your doctor if you notice a change in the color, odor, or consistency of discharge, because those can be signs of infection. So after asking more specific questions and performing an exam, the doctor can give tailored information and advice. If you have more questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at / intermountainmoms , and recommend us to your friends and family too.
Get all infections treated as soon as possible. From my experience I've had BV and it lead to my water breaking too early (PPROM). Had to be put on bed rest until baby was delivered at 30 weeks.
Strong prayers for you and babe 🙏 I'm even suffering from bacterial infection now during pregnancy
@@chathuryaareddy7999 May the Lord come to your aid and heal you . it can be very frustrating .

Hi @stylinartist2 have you take medications during your bed rest for BV?
what happens to your baby after delivery is it true that it can affect baby 😢
I’m really nervous about taking metronidazole I have bc for the first time I’m 32 weeks pregnant I’m wondering if the negative side affects are more prone to women earlier in their pregnancy I’m scared it will hurt my daughter but I know I cannot leave this untreated I’m struggling to make my decision right now
I'm facing the same decision. I am 27 weeks. I decided to take it. Today was my first dose. How did it go for you? Do you decide to take the medication ?
Am 6weeks pregnant and I was given same medication last week.i don't know if I should be worried right now 😢
I'm so sorry that its such a tough decision to make especially so early on in pregnancy. I did not have any negative side effects, but I don't think my BV was treated well, and I may have to take it again in a week or so :( @@zeebraimah2670
Sorry my response is so late ladies it didn't affect my baby it did however give me a yeast infection which they tried to give me more meds for and I declined my body naturally fought it off along with the things I ate and hygiene routine. I was nervous my whole time taking it but I couldn't take the risk of it getting bad and infecting her.

Hi, I’m now 22 weeks pregnant and on daily medication for UTI. I’ve had it since I found out I was pregnant at 7 weeks, was given medicine 3 times and nothing now I’m taking daily pills. Along with that I also contacted bv at about 11 weeks and also was given medicine but nothing, now on top of that I have a yeast infection as well, was just given medicine for it. It is the worst thing ever! Don’t know what will happen next. So far baby is healthy and I haven’t had any issues other than the obvious. But I’m nervous I’m just getting closer and closer to having my baby and I don’t want any complications to occur
How are you doing? I'm going threw something similar I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have had bv infection that's seems does not want to go away recently been put on metronidazole gel but still having same symptoms
@@lamujerdelatexxana_8565 Hi, I’m doing better now thank God. I still have the yeast infection but the UTI and BV are gone now. But oh my goodness, I totally understand you I was given Metronidazole 4 times and nothing. Like you said I would feel the same symptoms regardless of taking the meds. Then finally at my last appointment two weeks ago my dr said the UTI and BV are gone and I’m guessing with all the medication over time it went away. Now I’m just hoping the same for the yeast inf. But I hope everything goes well with you, may it go away without any issues! Also baby has been good and healthy throughout my whole process 🙏🏻

I had sex everyday for one month. Around the days I was ovulating I was treated for a UTI and think it may have been the cause of not getting pregnant. I have one child already who is 1yrs old.
Is it safe to use clindamycin cream to treat nvm while pregnant

I just left the hospital and was diagnosed with BV and this is exactly what I was prescribed for 7 days to help get rid of it
Is Womezon Remedy useful to cure your bacterial vaginosis issue naturally ? I've read a lot of good things about this bacterial vaginosis treatment.
