  • I've finished loading my bug-out bag, and in this video, I break down the supplies and gear inside and explain why I chose them. As preppers, we love watching how everyone has their bags set up. Because everyone's bug-out bag, get-home bag, or EDC bag is different, we can get some good ideas from them.
As I said in the video. this is version 1 of my bug-out bag. Some of the supplies and gear may change in the future.
Here are the past 2 videos I've done in the process of changing from my old bag to my new Amp 72 pack from 5.11 Tactical.

I like the concept of those pouches that will aide in organization of preps. Without those pouches all of that stuff just be thrown all together. Impossible to find what you need in a timely manner. Good ideas too.

Yeah me too. They make organizing super easy

I'm using zip-loc bags to separate stuff. This backpack is way cooler than mine.

I got those from 5.11 also. Quite a few people use zip locks. Plus zip locks are waterproof. Thanks.

You could also use colour coded packing "cubes" - red for fire kit, blue for water, green for food 🙂

@@Lee_Proffit that’s a good idea. I need to start looking for bags that I could use in my bag. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing the info to the community.
Good to hear you actually bring out the pack and test the gear.
    I agree, good weight.
I like the pack, non discreet, grey man style.
    Great review

Add a pencil sharpener to the fire kit, great for making tinder out of small twigs. I would use the contractor bag to wrap up the spare clothes, keeps them dry and saves that bottom pouch for other stuff. I would also add some protein snack bars to snack on and a metal cup - not much point in carrying coffee if you can't get to drink it 🙂
Oh, and a pair of heavy duty rigger type gloves

If you’re looking into hammocks. I’d suggest a DutchWare chameleon. I freaking love mine. I have a solid top cover for colder Seasons and a bug net top for warmer months. It’s got a spreader bar to keep everything off of your face too!

I don't disagree with most items you have, you're definitely missing some major items but almost anything can be improvised to an extent so I also don't exactly disagree with most items you have missing. BUT idk how you're at 27lbs with such a basic setup. I have a 12lb setup with a full tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, cooking, etc. Add radios, solar and battery, I'm at about 16lbs. I can help you get much lighter, or I can post my packing list if you want. I've done the "testing" for years as a backpacker.
