i lived in Sosua for 4 years. house got robbed about 4 times every year too. they will steal anything with a screen or electrical plug. after a while I just stopped buying shit. living room looked bare like a bus station. fun times though, but better countries exist. #theshimmyshow

Went there first time last week...let this girl spend the night, n I was asking her if she could get her friends to come through n she told me they be stealing n shit that's why she doesn't like calling them lol. N I got scammed by a cab driver who wanted to charge me 20 for a 10 minute ride bringing a girl to my place. @@shaystar9347 Awe really? I would have told you just spend 4 days in Sosua and then you can visit Puerto Plata and Cabarete. Even take two days to go down to Santo Domingo. The GOV has great coach busses that get people all over the country island for cheap :)
I thought about traveling around but I went dolo and my Spanish is limited.I didn't really feel dealing with the cabs or vans after dealing with the people in sosua streets it was a experience Mouth went dry saying no gracias 🤣🤣... Colombia is next

Great advice! Your first comment reminded me of my time in Honduras. The girls charged 20 lempiria (10 USD) when I got there. I found out that the price started out at 10 lempiria, but US servicemen were awarding girls with 10 lemp tips.
try to dont pay more than 1000-1500 for a short course, and 2000-2500 for overnight, the best is if you speak spanish, rent a car and go to other small town, like La Union, Montellano, and puerto plata, or Santiago, get out of the tourist place and make some girls freind ship!! the gonna be welling to have a hot time in a cabana after a great day , a diner, ciné, beach etc. Oh and most of the gilrs in DR love to get in cars and go out for ride or little road trips. The Puerto plata University is a great place to meet non-pros. girls.

@@MikoWorldwide I travel DR since 2010 i was there each 3-4 mounts, i also lived in sosua mostly 1year.I have been in a relationship with a ''normal'' girl for almost 4 years, she was a contry side girl, with great family they took really care of me, in 4 years they never asked me for money, but you have to keep in mind ist a 3world contry and they always be greating if you can help, buy food, gaz for the stove,put gaz in the car, take them out for a hang bring them little gift from your contry etc. i pretty know all the nort coast from Samana to Montecristi. Sousa is a big spot for chapiadoras me as a latino I go to Azua, Santiago and Moca you will find good decent ones not like the street hustlers in Sousa.

I work in the health field so I guess this is why I feel this way, but All of this is risky behavior (anywhere) and condoms don’t prevent everything. People still get pregnant with proper condom use so this is proof that diseases are not always preventable. 15 out of 100 people Will still get pregnant every year according to planned parenthood. Obviously for those 15 people, the sperm got through which means the diseases can get through as well. Some people are willing to risk their health and safety for a few minutes of pleasure. This will never make sense to me.

I've been scammed and my family from there. I got hustled for $2000 usd by some fake condo guys. Never seen my condo. I paid in advance. Also a chick tried to hustle me once. She tried to call a cop over and said I was gonna give her money which I never did and the cop made me give her like $100 or go to jail. That shit was shady

She was a chick I met on Facebook 2 years prior and she wanted to meet me in person. I paid her bus to come to the city and never told her I was giving her anything but bus fare and made that very clear with her as I was looking for no relationship or sex with her. She came with a friend which I was unaware of until she arrived. At the time I was single. She was persistent about trying to be in a relationship with me. I wasn't looking for anything serious at the time. I told her if anything go down it was just only that and I'm not giving her money as that's not what I'm looking for and I made that very clear. She knew. The next day when I was dropping her off at the bus stop with her friend. Her friend asked her was I giving her extra money and that's when this shit started. I assume she was trying to impress her friend and asked me for money and I told her no and she threw a huge scene in front her friend and told me she wanted me to give her like $500 usd. I told her get da fuck outta here. And she refused to get out my car. So since we were in da middle of the street i drove to an empty parking space and some police just happened to be there and she called them over and made up some bullshit story about me asking her to come and spend time with me for money with I never told her and that I needed to pay her for her services. The cops handcuffed me and told me they would take me to jail if I didn't pay her. I told them to take me as this shit was bullshit. I would never pay any girl $500 bucks to fuck even if it was celebrity. So 1 cop was trying to help me from going to jail so he told me to just give her $100 to get her da fuck out. So I gave it to her. And they let me go. The funny this about this whole story is that this crazy bitch tried to hit me up and apologize to me for this shit and wanted to see me again. Really. Man I told this bitch good riddens and blocked her on everything. Some of these broads have problems and will do anything to get a buck. My words of advice get them hoes to sign a disclosure before fucking them or anything cause they have power when it comes to the police there. Especially if you are American or any other country. No matter if you are a Dominican born in America you are American.

I’ve never had problems with things being stolen when I visit. I’ve stayed at a few hotels, and one of the all-inclusives, I actually stayed at the all inclusive 4 times. It’s just better when you are familiar and if you wanna hook up with girls from Canada. You don’t have to pay local girls, if you got game you can mess with other girls on vacation at your hotel. I do agree though the girls in Sousa will hug up on you and be tryna run your pockets lol. Here are my tips for Sousa travel
1. Find/become close with someone who knows Spanish if you don’t
2. Stay at the same hotel every trip it helps with getting to know people and vice versa.
3. Go out with a set amount of money everyday and don’t go over, you can overspend easy.

I stayed at the New Garden Hotel in Sosua (2018), fellas trip, the room itself was decent but they had security on site, I personally don't trust putting anything in the safe. They had a pool too, we all had our own rooms. Download Whatsapp for negotiating purposes and Google translator was a big help too. Don't let them spend the night, like he said! The women can be hands on so my approach was to talk to women but keep my hand on my wallet while around a group of them. They pickpocketed one of my boys. Be aware of guys walking up acting as if they wanna help you find certain places because they will be expecting a tip like you asked them for help, so limit your conversation with them but tip if necessary. Like he said DON'T OVERPAY! Please, please, please strap up!!! Shouldn't have to say it but you know how some people get caught in the moment! 😂

@@danielkalloo3834 That's why you want to download WhatsApp and negotiate via text, then if you want to tip them a lil extra that's cool and research the Dominican Pesos to U.S currency exchange rate too. They take U.S dollars, it's even a good idea to bring some cash but keep it in you and never take it out around anyone.

With all the potential for crime in DR it’s not worth it. Who can relax when you’re 24/7 looking over your back for fear of being robbed. I like TJ- stay at a hotel on bright lit Zona Notre and you’ll have a blast. The women in the TJ clubs are gorgeous
Dont leave a phone out they can just put their purse on top of it ..Some will act like they know who you are just to get a drink..Everything valuable goes into the safe even 2.00 or it will be missing..watch every drink being made or drink bottled beer only..I.D everyone ..
My tip will be never keep your wallet in pocket jeans or trousers when u go for a bath in d bathroom. Bring your wallet with u to the bathroom. Ty.
