Definitely Megadeth’s best work in a long time. With the current state of the world I think people are ready for angrier music and this album delivers.
I really liked the new album! My favourite so far is actually Soldier On! But I also really like We'll be back. I've been a fan of Megadeth for a few years, around the time when Dystopia released but I remember the first song I heard was Good Mourning/Black Friday, and later Right to go insane. Megadeth basically dominates my playlists because I really enjoy the band, and I was excited for this album for a long time and I feel like it was honestly most definitely worth the wait! 🤘💀
I’m a big fan of Mission to Mars, it has a fragment of Dave’s sense of humor in it when he opens a window on his starship to say hi to the sisters of Pleiades
I personally for one love this album right now! I find it to be just a bunch of fun songs that I'd definitely have a couple drinks if they started playing. But as for the composition and all that jazz, I don't think it lacks there either. I mean listen to Kiko's solos and tell me not every single one of those were well composed, the riffs are some of them more fresh and some of them very old school a perfect mix of both. What I feel about this album is over the years Dave has experimented so much with music and landed on all kinds of weird spots (I for one don't mind the lesser albums but I recognize that they are not near Peace Sells for example) and finally they've landed on something that sounds like MEGA FUCKING DETH!
Amen brother! The more I keep listening to this new one I like it more and more! I enjoyed Dystopia but not this much. This is the best since Endgame!!
We know Dave Mustaine is no spring chicken. At 60, hes "died" twice, overcame addictions, had to have multiple surgeries and relearn guitar. Most recently he has battled cancer and won. From his early days with Panic and Metallica, death has haunted him. Being spiteful and full of rage, he created Megadeth. Their first album was a seething, ferocious scorched earth sonic assault. From then on, Dave would ensure Megadeth would always move forward and leave his foot print in the music world. And here we are at his 16th album, almost 40 years after the inception of Megadeth. Is it a Rust in peace? A peace sells? A countdown? Youthanasia? No. But its a perfect The Sick, the Dying and the Dead. Dave can never recapture the magic of his iconic and monumental albums. He simply isnt that person anymore. Hes grown. Hes older. Hes changed. The world has changed and the metal music scene has changed as well. I thoroughly enjoy this album from beginning to end. Yes, a song or two may be a bit simplistic or not as catchy as others. But the riffs punch you in the gut. The drums thunder in your chest. The bass rattles your head and the solos tickle your ears with ease. Dave has come back with a vengeance and sounds stronger then ever. The cheeky and sly humor of the lyrics remind us that Dave is still cynical Dave, not afraid to throw a little cheese at us. "Hello, me...its the real me" or how about "Whoever thought you'd be better, At turning a screw than me. I do it for my life. Made my drive shaft crank. Made my pistons bulge. Made my ball bearing melt from the heat" Typical Mustaine cheese and here for more of it. For me, the title track is my favorite. As a metal guitarist of 20 years, this song sounds so fun, groovy and full of life and swing. I look forward to learning this song. This album grows the more you play it. Im on my 13th spin now, as I got my album yesterday. My personal view is that its the most alive, fun filled, heavy album Dave has made in the last 20 years. It slightly edges out Endgame and is definitely the organic evolution of Dystopia. The addition of Dirk behind the kit gives this album the swagger it needed. It's moving into my personal top 3 favorite Megadeth albums. But its still new. We will see how time treats this album. Is it Rust? No. But it doesnt need to be. Its a Megadeth album in 2022. And that is something I can appreciate.
Amazing comment and I completely agree man. Like you said, it isn't RIP but it doesn't need to be. It's its own thing and that's okay. I absolutely love it!
I remember being half asleep in my car when "We'll be back" came on Liquid Metal. Woke me up,yea. I haven't kept up with Megadeth in years, but it did sadden me what happened with Ellefson. Back in my bass days I idolized him and Rex.
Same here dude, I also think that Dystopia had better songwriting and more memorable riffs, I kinda find it heavier than the latest effort but regardless, I love the new album
@@RaOThRaSh You and a few other commenters sound like you're new. Dave has been writing aggressive to cheesy lyrics for a long time. Its very Megadeth!!, instantly recognizable, great hooks and heaps of energy...being old and of simple tastes I'll always say Peace Sells was my fav but I do actually really like this! I had no idea about the Sammy Hagar cover, it reminded me of old Pantera 'Ride my Rocket' or something, pretty funny.

Musically it's great. Lyrically and vocally, it ruins it for me. It feels fairly cringey with first person look into soldiers "kicking people's teeth". Though the title track is decent, the rest just feel like it's hard to relate to.
@@dewinter1411 nah, I'm okay with violent stuff. Over the years of being a Megadeth fan, I've noticed a trend that Dave is moving towards generic "I'm a badass" type stuff and it misses the mark for me. You can see the trend really pick up in United Abominations. The new album ain't bad, but it's just a little cringe. Vocally Dave had dropped off though. I know he beat cancer, but after seeing them live a couple times you have to admit he's struggling with dynamics. Even in this album, you can see him struggle with parts.

Sleep with their fans... Maybe not over social media. You get my drift! I mean if we look at the track record of the greats like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, and so on, they're not going to say no to a horny teenager right?! But Dave Jr shows off as a redeemed rock star; someone who has found god and stopped taking drugs and is now living a pristine priestly life-style! His entire book "My Life With Deth" reeks of his self-righteousness... Such a move from THAT guy is disgusting! If he was sincere and just admitted to being a rock star, living the perverted and debaucherous lifestyle they are known for, I would have just laughed. @@Vestu is it tho, hit me with som oldschool band with good modern releases
@@madsbdker5579 like…. Megadeth?
@@bvionis nope, their new stuff is bad
@@madsbdker5579 Megadeth. Dystopia and this are in their top 5 albums.
Very little filler mostly good metal. 8/10 for me.
Musically it's great. Lyrically and vocally, it ruins it for me. It feels fairly cringey with first person look into soldiers "kicking people's teeth". Though the title track is decent, the rest just feel like it's hard to relate to.
Awwww. Too violent and manly for ya? Guess they need to make Vic wear skinny jeans, a handbag, and a man bun and then we’ll be cooking!
@@dewinter1411 well aren't you an edgy little boy
Or......is Megadeths new album the sick the dying and the dead a bite off MY BANDS NAME, get this.......SICK DYING DEAD!!! Yeah believe it!!! Dave seen our band name somewhere I'm convinced!!! We're pissed!!! I'll let ya hear our self titled song...Sick Dying Dead!! Ps there's nothing better than ....PEACE SELLS BUT WHOS BUYING and RUST IN PEACE!! those 2 can't be touched!!!
"after... ehhh... a video got leaked" Hahaha so true! I wouldn't mind it so much if he had just embraced his rock star persona man! I mean that is what decadent rock stars do right? One of the Devil's Children doing the Devil's business ya know!
I think the problem was that people were accusing him of grooming the girl he did that with. If I remember right, she was an OnlyFans girl and someone she knew leaked the video
@@KillbotAndGorGorAttack Grooming is such a stupid word. You mean seducing right? Wanting to fuck that sweet thing, right? If he was twenty years younger you wouldn't call it "grooming". What did Motley Crue do after the concerts? It is all so ridiculously stupid it boggles my mind. The girl wasn't "groomed" ... that implies she doesn't have a mind of her own. She wanted some of that star attraction.
