Thanks! GREAT TIMING! I was just telling my Mexican born son in law about Trona, I raced District 37 desert there in the 80's and did some sub-contractor work at the area and bases in the 90's, have not retuned in over 25 years. This summer Johsons like had water, my dogs loved it, I had never seen water in the "dry lake" in my life, I'm 3rd to 5th gen native born Ca. maybe pre WWI moms' side, WWII Pacific Dad's, his family loved the weather, Ks had had a big freeze, they never went back. I meet an area mine owner at a Mexican Doctors office, a few times as we got treatments on the same days, he was happy I knew a bit of this place.
Paiute means Water Ute. The prefix Pah, refers to water. This beautiful originally nomadic tribe followed the water, and the efflorescence of life around it, in the Great Basin. I REALLY like the Paiute kids who used to show me what their elders, grandmothers, and medicine people taught them about beautiful and practical existence and pleasure in all that region. (The pictographs show pretty short legs, though. That is artistic license, maybe stemming from tired legs after chasing those strange, ephemeral nigh-crossers between mountains, of desert bighorn sheep. The lakes you perceive as incessantly dry are or were, important seasonal water/wetland stopovers of the many migratory birds who traveled from Arctic, east of Sierra and Cascades, to the Colorado rover delta, once a truly wealthy and inspiring flyway, greater in nature than the human silk road.
Flown over Trona many times in a helicopter. The geology is interesting. Don't go in the summer time. It gets very hot. A few movies have been filmed there.
Anthropogenic climate a sudden and likely unique phenomenon, did NOT. EXPECT humans, like other ecologically released species, to die back, as nature, perhaps in the form of microorganisms finding a bounty of two-legged food, reasserts a more balanced normality. This is the dynamic undulating form of population biology and ecological change. Even your inane emojis will die back.
Trona is where the new FBI headquarters should be built. It is 50 miles from any services, terribly hot in the summer, absolutely nothing to do. The Headquarters should have a boiler-room set up of offices, monitored land lines only, no computers, and cell phone blocking devices. The FBI personnel sent there should have absolutely nothing to do each day except try to figure out why the air conditioning does not work-----until they agree to retire.
Well done except for the uncanny valley AI animated sepia tone photo and the inaccurate AI map of ancestral lakes. AI is automated plagiarism that spews carbon. You'll improve your already fine production without it.
can you not use AI, this is garbage. Look at that map, it lables what's probably supposed to be the pacific ocean as "death valley lake", then there's "Parthmint lake" with some freeways going through it or something. what trash.
Thanks! GREAT TIMING!

Cool video, I like your narration. Thank you
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Well done vid. 👍
If you go to the mine, there's a telephone pole with a crushed car at the top:
a sign says, 'Ore Trucks have Right of Way".
Exactly where? I have gone twice and never seen that…

Learned something new, thank you
Check out Ry Cooder’s “Little Trona Girl” on his I, Flathead CD.
@@edwardsmith9644 Very nice, thank you!
Excellent!!
I appreciate your videos.
I was hoping to get out today,
But my health is not what it used to be.
Decided to sit it out.
I went to Kern Valley H.S. and we played Trona in football. Their field was dirt because grass wouldn't grow there. We hated Trona.
China Lake used to drill into the old Lake bed , plant explosives, and bring up giant crystals - fun for everyone who came. Still have mine.
I think you meant to say Searles Lake. China lake has been a military base since the 1940's.
Cool
They were constructed well before the flood,,in giant time
Similar to the Dead Sea. A goldmine of mineral wealth.
Climate change happened before the industrial revolution era? 🤔 lol

Lol those maps are pitiful.
Sorry Trona for such a lousy video.

First comment gets moved down every time some one new comments. So first is actually "LAST"
"if you aint 1st, you're last" 🍻
If you're not first, you're last!
Wrong. If not first you are simply not first.
Not everyone is childish enough to just say first when leaving a message. Sometimes we watch and say nothing 😂.
Not in the comments. First one shows up at the bottom.
this was all under the ocean. how can anyone inhabit under water for 8000 years?
Mohave Mojave is the real biblical Moab (Mo-hav) and Sonora Sinaloa desert and region is the Sinai, Nevada is the Negev
