    I literally bought this combo last month at the recommendation of a local audio dealer! First new hifi system in years and no complaints. Meets my needs as just getting back into hifi audio. Thanks for the video guys

    I bought this combo on your recommendation and absolutely love it!!! Thank you. The only question is how do I link a wim or other streamer up to it? And or dac?
    The other question is will you do something similar for the 7k region since I’m well and truly bitten smitten and want an end game system for the other room

    The AXA35 is a great little amp. It's well built, it has a torodial transformer and sounds great for $350. I agree with you guys it's perfect for a small room. It pairs very well with my Klipsch RP600M.

    Looking to pair the AXA35 with the Wharfdale 12.1 or the Triangle Borea 3. What are your thoughts? Is a dac needed for this setup or does the AXA35 have a built in DAC?

    • @Hifyed
      @Hifyed  2 года назад +1

      you will need a DAC, however, you can go with the axr100 which has a built in DAC. Both speakers will work with the axa35 it will just depend of the sound signature you are looking for. I have listened to the Borea 3 and so far so good. It is scheduled in for a review in the upcoming months.

    Hi guys, thanks for this video! I have the chance to buy exactly this system for 400€ in total (used stuff) and I'm wondering if It would work well at low volumes, I mean if it still sounds lively at low vol. or it needs to be cranked over a certain level in order to sound good. I would use it in a low roofed and small/mid room.Thanks in advance.

    • @Hifyed
      @Hifyed  Год назад +1

      Your welcome! Low level is good especially for the price you are getting it at. Your room size will work just fine unless you want to reach high spls. Also keep in mind that this amp will work, however, it only rated at 8ohms. The review was suppose to be with an axr100 that did not arrive in time.

    I have that amp. It goes for four hundred now. I've been testing my pretty open apt. as I've told you guys about. I'm just using some low end jbl n26s but have always planned on upgrading and have listened to quite a few including those dalis but really need to go to the audio shop and hear some and I'm thinking better ones now, after your review here. Think I told you about me being mostly vynal. Also I'm not clear on why I get minus dbl. I'd guess the need for much better speakers, though these seem to have woke up. I haven't bought a preamp either so that might be the case. I am starting to get the spacey rooms closer to my liking,but still a ways to go. I think the amp is stronger than listed but I'm not the experts. Another nice review guys.

    • @Hifyed
      @Hifyed  2 года назад

      Your welcome! When you mention minus db do you mean lower output on your vinyl? Your JBLs are they the Northridge series? I still remember those they came with an optional wall mounting bracket if I recall correctly. It’s not a bad speaker to keep you going until you find the speaker you love.

    • @Hifyed
      @Hifyed  2 года назад

      Also regarding the amp power. Companies like Cambridge do rate a little more conservatively.

    • @robertwoodward9231
      @robertwoodward9231 2 года назад

      @@Hifyed yes Northridge N26ll. You saying it could be my mid-level cartridge could be reason for minus dbl I'm playing quality vynal analog. It will go minus 30 then back down 29 but gets higher volume.

      @robertwoodward9231 2 года назад

      Not wallmount. I have them on top of old floorstanders. I just have a straighthookup from my technics table to the phono stage. Idn, maybe after updating I'll see + decibals.

    • @Hifyed
      @Hifyed  2 года назад +1

      @@robertwoodward9231 in terms of lower db output it’s normal on a turntable. Even if you change the cartridge the output may not change. You can always use an external phono that has adjustable gain. Unfortunately it usually it is only available at higher priced ones .

    I am trying to make a system of Dali Oberon 5 and cambridge audio axa 35 and axn 10 and what do you think about this and hey guys love your videos

    • @vangmx
      @vangmx Год назад

      I originally had the Dali Oberon 7 with both a Yamaha AS501 (85 watts at 8 ohms) and Rotel 1592 MK2 (200 watt at 8 ohms). Now, I had to move recently and left my system with my wife to enjoy. I loved those speakers and both amps paired well. Even the lower priced Yamaha sounded great and the Rotel improved on the bass and clarity. If I could go back in time, I'd be happy with the Yamaha but I'm planning to keep my Rotel until the end of time. LOL. Anyway these last few months, I've been missing my system, so I recently purchased a refurbished Cambridge AXA35 and their SX60 bookshelf speakers for a little more than $400. They should arrive in a few days. Anyway, I'd be a little worried about the AXA35 powering any of the Dali Oberons because they are rated at 6 ohms, so I would recommend an amp with a bit more power, just to be on the safe side. Can't wait to get my new budget hifi setup.

    • @Hifyed
      @Hifyed  2 года назад +1

      You can add a bluesound node which unfortunately cost more than the Cambridge itself. Also remember source is important plus it has network streaming and not just Bluetooth. If your main purpose is to stream via bluetooth you may want to consider going with axr100 which comes with it and more power.
