I can plainly see the disturbed water coming off of Team USA's foil as compared to the Kiwis. the "wake" coming off of the foil is all aerated and turbulent similar to cavitation and ruining the wetted surface...its a water brake and that is maybe the difference in boat S.O.G of 2 kts.
My Goodness...The Kiwis have a great start and an incredible 1st leg. I was hoping that from these two races (3 and 4) that USA could at least win 1. Argh! Kiwis have a little better tactics and (looks to me) better technology. Good On Ya' New Zealand. Get out your brooms, you're sweeping US.
I cannot understand Spithill at 1 min prestart he could have hooked Burling but didn't. Then hooked way too low on the lay line and Burling burnt him off to the first mark. Very poor.
America ...It irks me to listen to the tactician tell the helmsman how to sail the boat ..isnt it his job to tell the helmsman WHERE to put the boat and Not how to put the boat ..hes got such a big mouth and he overrides the trimmer and the helmsman ..he should have been the helmsman and skipper ..its a good part of Why they lost the Cup..He is constantly under-minding the whole crew and causing anxiety in the team..it wasnt the boat that won the cup for the Kiwis ..it was THE TEAM
They need to change there development team, it seems the team they got right now are not hitting the spot. They need different approach from the obvious.
