    Are you getting a 2 sheets of metal titanal shoulder?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  4 года назад +4

      Well, yes, kinda! I got a pretty long titanium plate and a total of 9 screws! I asked if they were going to add carbon for responsiveness, but we decided to just focus on metal for the stability factor ;)

    Wish you a fast recovery!
    I know how those injuries early in the season are a big bummer. I broke my arm few years back but once they removed the cast(about 4 or 5 weeks) and change it with the removable one I have decided to try start skiing again. The docs are gonna tell you to wait 5-6 months but you can do your own research and decide for yourself.

      Thanks Kaloyan! My doctor is awesome. I'll probably be back on snow in some capacity within a few weeks!

    Gotta keep that uphill hand up front and strong, dropping it back like that creates twisting and a disconnect between upper and lower.

      3 different skiers in this video, each with different backgrounds. Ryan, in the beginning, is a race instructor for MMSC and was a pretty successful racer himself. Tough to beat in our local ski bum races, that's for sure!

    Take your time and let your injuries heal if not you may regret it as you get older...dont ask me how I know this.

      Will do! Unfortunately, I have a lot of experience with major injuries myself... :(

    What ski is like this but perhaps not gear to the pure expert range? I really like this ski but its probably beyond my ability atm. But i do want the aggressive edges and quick tuning, realistically I'm probably advanced intermediate....
    Ill probably move to this ski in a year or two

    Because shoulders heal soooo fast. Be kind OR you'll rewind.

      I'm not rushing anything. Only 12 days out of surgery now. Lots of hardware in there.

    I love your videos ! Best review videos around. You helped me make the decision on a pair of Nordica Enforcer 100's this year. I'm in Alaska and STILL waiting for snow before I try them out. (by the way, I found a new in the wrapping 2020 set for only $270 ! )

    I see at the end you compare it to the Volkl Deacon 80. I am deciding between these two skis, love to carve hard turns and most of my skiing is on trail in east coast ice (Windham). Any advice on which one?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  4 года назад

      The Spitfire feels more powerful. If you're really aggressive and are specifically looking for high-end carving performance, I'd go with the Spitfire 80. The Deacon 76, however, is another story, that compares more evenly to the Spitfires as it uses much more similar construction.

      @@SkiEssentials Quick question if you don't mind. I am 5'9'' and 190lbs, and an intermediate/advanced skier. What length ski should I buy (if I buy the 2020 Nordica Spitfire 80)? (I saw a guy last weekend on the Spitfire 80 skis. He was about my height/weight, but he was skiing on 162 length skis). Would 162 be too short for me? Thank you in advance. Greg Czaicki. (Ps. Great video and review. I really want these skis).

    Hi Guys, great content as per usual.
    how does this ski compare to the enforcer 88? I'm more of a Piste skier but am slowly venturing into off-piste crud, how does that fare here?
    Which would you recommend for 80%Piste 20% Off? You also mentioned the Brahma 82 how would that compare?

      As an owner of a 179 Enforcer 88, bought because of the fantastic review they got here, and also a 170 Racetiger SL, my guess is that they are similar in terms of stiffness and and edge grip on firm eastern days but then after that they will be nothing alike. The Enforcer 88 is a fabulous ski that I would highly recommend. I use the 179 and I'm 5'9" 190 and I would say I'm an advanced intermediate skier. If I was taller I would consider the 186 length

    • @sebastianfischer2520
      @sebastianfischer2520 4 года назад

      @@wallstreetoneil So does it just plough through everything or what is your experience there? I'm 6'2 220 but I feel the 186 would be too long.

      @@sebastianfischer2520 The Enforcer is incredible. There is no top speed period. I was an elite hockey player and also played top level other sports so while I'm late to skiing, I'm a pretty good athlete that will pretty much do anything - but I do have a sort of top speed which from an injury perspective I won't go beyond - but that is pretty fast. However, my 150# 5'6" female partner was an ex Canadian Level GS Racer - to say that she is fast just does not capture her frightening level speed that she will ski at - and with these 179 Enforcers. I bought them at the end of the last season but she stole them from me and just would not give them back - she absolutely loves them - she simply cannot believe their edge hold and their ability to absolutely everything - race level GS turns, moguls, trees - and she is perfectly fine on the 179s - and you outweigh her by 70#s and importantly at 6'2" your leverage point is way higher than her's. The thing to remember about this ski is that is has significant early tip rocker so the effective under foot camber of the 179 is actually shorter than her 167 Rossignol Hero - i.e. the underfoot part is like a traditional cambered 165 ski - ie. too short for you. Trust me on this, go with the longer ski and your height - i'm certain Geoff & Bob will say the exact same thing - and I think that is the size that Bob skied it at.

      @@gregczaicki436 I would go with the 168 for 15m radius or if you ski bigger hills, the 174 for 16m radius. 162 is too short in my opinion
