Thanks for posting this, it's a great format (with telemetry) and a really awesome insight into your world. With all the machine learning that's going on ( I suppose it's not really even that just an algorithm ) I'm surprised there isn't an exit pit window that you apply for whereby you might have to wait some seconds before being "cleared for launch" but based on who's out in the field it will greatly increase your chances of at least 2-3 laps of no traffic. As someone with a godawful Spa lap time it was a nice surprise that I should be going full send in my 720s Gen 1 through Eau Rouge lol...also I didn't even know there was a pit exit at the top of the hill lol
Surely you're going back next year! Absolute amazing result considering what happened during the weekend, pace was there but just unlucky as u can get with that many cars on the same track.
5:39 - its crazy to me that people don't move out the way in qualifying, thats just common curtsey to get out the way if you are on an out lap.... I would be raging if that was me in the drivers seat considering the cost and practice that goes into a race weekend
I get they don't want to move off the racing line & get their tyres dirty with marbles, but yeah that guy was either just being a dick or completely oblivious.
I hand it to ya. you do much better then anyone of us watching your vid could ever do its nice to see you back racing again James. keep up the good work👍
11:40 around that it really blows my mind that after compromising its lap completely letting a car by on the straight, that merc still still let you by after getting right on his ass too… like he definitely feels that dirty air a bit too right? And like again, off lap after letting one past Also I gotta say that was amazing holding the delta even with that pit entry ending up so close. Shows a great level of zoning in and trusting that gut line through the chaos. Just like in the rain and through the safety car nausea.
Hi James, good video thanks. Just watching I think you were a little hesitant at times? but totally understand, you need seat time. But this is coming from me who has never been in a race car 😃
@@Jaaames I think you did great James, its was just a few things you were saying in the video just a couple at 13:31 not confident under brakes, also 14:58 again you saying you not confident under brakes. Sorry not trying to be critical, I enjoy your videos James.
I did, overall they were happy with my performance. Now considered a 'strong silver' which is a nice compliment. Time to find some sponsorship so I can do more of this.
Thank you for sharing & cool video. With all due respect, I just see a lack of commitment on running in close quarters. I wish you should've showed us how less lateral force you have when following or showed us how much more ABS mitigation you have under braking when following (a clear indicator of dirty air). Commit, flash the lights if you're 💯% sure your faster, then the marshals will help with the blue light. If they don't see that you are about to ram it into their tail, they won't show them the blue flag. Be a strategist, but be more aggressive. My two quid
Glad you enjoyed the video, not sure if I agree with the rest of what you're saying tho tbh. But hey, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I know I can always do better, appreciate the comment nonetheless.
Genuine question, why not lift coming out the final turn on lap 2 to get more space between you and the silver guy? If you were going to go straight into another lap anyway?
Unfortunately there was a train of cars not too far behind, which mean't realistically I couldn't have done that. Also, I wasn't sure if that lap was the final lap of the session; so I thought it was worth getting the lap in just in case.
@@syahmiazri4246 So, as your speed decreases so does your grip, therefore you have to gradually get off the brake as your speed decreases so you dont lock up. Now, GT3 cars obviously have ABS, so you cant really lock up. However i understand from real drivers that in real GT3 cars if you just keep the brake as hard as you can up until you turn in like you said, you will just not stop. This is probably because the ABS in ACC for example is way better than in real life so you can "let it do more of the braking for you" than in real life. Also the tires are different etc etc. But i think the main thing is the ABS in the game is really good at keeping the optimal brake pressure and give you good stopping time vs the ABS in real life is a bit more just to not lock up, you want to avoid it interfering too much.
What is the point of blue flags in GT racing when nobody pays attention to It. These people have flags for an entire sector, and no penalty??? In F1 those guys would be getting penalties left right and center.
F1 blue flags and GT blue flags work in a different way. In F1, as you probably know, the slower driver has to get out of the way safely as soon as they can. In GT however its up to the faster car to pass safely, and the slower car isn't required to move out of the way, they're just required to stay predictable.

Controversial question. What sim you thinknis closer to driving gt3 cars, ACC or iRacing?
Good work mate
Both have their strengths & weaknesses, overall I'd say ACC, planning a video on this topic

100k !!! GG
There’s got to be a better way to do quali so that each car gets a clean lap or two?
Unfortunately with 67 cars, it's a tough one.
Hi, James. Why the brakes were not applied 100% and hold to 100% before trail braking at the braking zone? I thought this is the fastest way. Thanks
its in BAR (pressure) not %, in heavy braking zones they hit the pedal as hard as they can
@@simracingenthusiast4769 Ok understood. But then why it wasn't hold at peak pressure before trail braking?
@@syahmiazri4246 because real life is not ACC and peak pressure is needed only on the largest braking zones not all braking zones.
