I am now watching When Calls The Heart . Touching very sad watching Jack's funeral the final good bye . Jack will be missed but never forgotten . He moved on to another part I will always watch When Calls The Heart forever a fan . In the Hearts of those who watch .
Já tive várias tristezas nessas séries, primeiro foi a paixão de Cristina Young e Owem e agora com esse casal apaixonados, até hoje eu choro de tristeza e agora estou chorando por esse outro casal lindos dessa série
Beautiful! I will miss jack and I respect Daniel's choice to leave. I felt very similar when Matthew was killed off Downton abbey because Dan Stevens wanted to move on. I continued to watch downton till the end ,and I will continue to be a heartie. PersonallyI don't think they could've done it another way and I wouldn't want the role recast because Daniel and Erin have such great chemistry, it would be hard to see someone else in that role. I love this show and it's cast and crew. Many more stories to come, yes it won't be the same but jack will always be remembered, in the school, through elizabeth and their Child! Looking forward to season 6.
But the fans that don't want a recast most of them have said if there was a recast they would keep watching! But a lot of fans won't be watching because of killing off the J&E story lines (Elizabeth's husband does not die in the books!) so when you add both of those together they would keep more fans recasting than they what they are by not recasting. I could care less about chemistry. I don't get attached to actors, I get attached to characters and the story lines. There are other good actors! Lissing's is not the only one. I also find it funny fans that don't think anyone could adequately replace Lissing's some of them are already talking about a new love interest for Elizabeth even with Jack barely have been buried. Accept a new actor for a new love interest but not except a replacement for Jack LOL I'm so glad I am leaving all the drama LOL
I understand how you are feeling. And yes the character may not have died I. The books but this was a unique circumstance with the actor. When I watched the Facebook live show with Dan, Lori and Erin, I found out the reasons for this choice and how the producers and writers struggled with this. They did not want to recast the role and did not want to leave jack in the Northern Territory with Elizabeth pinning away. I liked what Erin said, when she said “feel how you need to feel about this. “ it will be hard to not see jack, but this show and cast are strong and it will go on.
If I had a nickel for every time writers have killed a character, leaving a perfect romance in ruins like this, I'd be a millionaire by now. While it hurts like nobody's business, I watch shows for the story lines, not solely on characters. Sometimes the story lines suffer at the loss of a character, and sometimes they stay strong. This is one where the loss can make the show stronger and more than just the story of Jack and Elizabeth, because it began as a story about a town healing. And as a person who studies history, I have to accept that not everyone (especially in this time period) gets happily ever after. Breaks my heart, esp. because its fiction and you can do stuff with historical fiction stuff, but it's also nice when they keep it real like this.
I am a great fan of Jack and Elizabeth and have always followed the episodes of When Calls the Heart. But it makes me feel so sad and emphathize with the sorrow of Elizabeth on the death of Jack. I wish they have at least had few years of happy life together as a family. It is just a drama but it cheers me up watching it except now.
We know that they are excellent actors because they got all of us "addicted" to their show. But as Lori said, actor's do decide to pursue other things once their contract is up, and I wish Mr. Lissing only the best which we all should. I can't even imagine how difficult it was for the entire cast to lose a member of their TV family. My only comment is that as soon as they knew that Mr. Lissing was leaving, at that point in time the writers should have started preparing us earlier for his upcoming death instead of how quickly they brought it on right after the marriage. Please keep in mind that they ended on a positive and hopeful note with the pregnancy. With the birth of Jack's child, we will now see how Elizabeth grows in her role as a single parent, the problems she'll face, and, in time, eventually having a new love interest. This will then mirror what so many women have to deal with in real life on a daily basis. In my opinion, there aren't too many shows like this out there that a family can watch together. Therefore, if anything good comes from Mr. Lissing's departure, it will be that the writers are much more aware, if they aren't already, of how their viewers are truly involved and care about the characters and this show. I truly hope that once everyone gets over the shock of Jack's death that they continue to support this show, otherwise, we will be the losers because we weren't there for them when our hearts were called upon to support it.
by the way this is amazingly done really good job the song and the story line go really well together thumbs up. I'm really sad that he's leaving but I do have peace with it. I just think its so sad because we've been waiting for them to get married and then they finally got engaged, then he had to leave, then he came back and now they finnally are married and then he has to leave again and he just doesn't come back and never will. I think they should've given them more time to be a married couple like seriously four and a half season of epic love and waiting for the wedding and now one episode of married couple and he's dead.
MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS! Dan is pursuing his dream! Give some kind of respect people. Do you want to see him in other movies? Do you want to remember him as who was your favorite character or remember him as the guy who got killed off and you never saw him again because you people who are shaming him discouraged him? It’s ok to be sad but this is just bullying to Daniel! Cut him some slack! I was a major #hearties and when Jack died I cried as if he was my own husband,I was upset that he left but I didn’t shame him! If you really love Daniel then support his decision and focus on the new joy. Elizabeth and Jack’s new baby! Just hear me out and you will feel better about Daniel’s decision! If you made it this far I just want you to know that you will see him in other movies/series. Love and support him. I really think if we all give him inspiration he will come back on hallmark somewhere! If you agree with me hit the thumbs up and in the reply box type in “You are my inspiration”as Elizabeth once said to Jack! Their love story is amazing and eventually they will probably meet again! I love you all and thank you!
Dorothy Reynolds they did not get rid of Jack’s role, he is the one who decided not to renew his contract through reasons only he knows why. It is sad yes but life goes on. I do hope Elizabeth gets flash backs and reminisces of her life with Jack and visits his grave site often during her pregnancy pouring her love for him.....
I don't get peace watching a main character get killed off and a funeral and Elizabeth expecting does not make up for killing off Jack. Just the same as I've read the majority of fans have written on different sites I would had accepted a recast over them killing Jack off! I don't care for the direction the show is going now so I won't be watching anymore!
Thank you. This was lovely. Another song I heard today by LeAnn Riems, "Please Remember " from the movie Coyote Ugly movie soundtrack. Try that song on your next vidieo.
Just Me I personally feel like majority of hearties are sticking with the show. Only a smaller minority, who speak the loudest, are super upset mad about Jack's death. When Calls The Heart will also gain new fans from now til next season who will make up for any lost viewers.
Lilly Caroline just to be clear I did not say the majority of fans would stop watching the show!! I did say from what I have read the majority of fans had rather Jack be recast than killed off the show. Just because they rather have Jack recast does not mean the majority of them would stop watching. A lot of shows get canceled when a main character gets killed off but I am not psychic so I won't predict if any show will or won't get canceled. I think fans are speaking pretty loud, too, that want the show to continue.
I think there are fans who are going to stick with the show, but I think there are a lot (like me) who won't, personally I think the episodes without Jack were very lack luster, and just didn't have any spark, and I'm not sure that, even though Erin,is a fantastic actress, will be able to pull off being a widow with a baby. They might pick up new fans, but if they watch any of the past episodes, they won't stay, it has probably seen it's hay day.
Kelleykilburn jack I miss you very much
You are a good man you will be in my heart forever.

A heartie from England.... so sad... such a shock... and I can’t even see the finale because it has disappeared from Netflix......

Same here. I love both shows dearly and I continue to be a fan.

Thank you and I'm glad to hear that you will continue to watch the show, and I hope others will reconsider as well.
I respect his decision but that doesn’t mean I can’t be sad
Well they should have replaced him instead of killing him off. I cried for hours.
I've watched the show for years how do I become a heartie
I think a heartie is a passionate fan.
Let Jack go let us heal go on with the show build great relations with others
