4:40 imagine you bought a Steinway and you just realized that Tiffany tried to paint it? How special would you feel? (I mean if you have a Steinway you would probably feel thankful and happy and of course I am not discouraging the other workers there because I know they put in so so much hard work for this but just imagine)
Ps, I do not have a Steinway but I am still really grateful to be able to have an upright piano because I know other people only have electric pianos!!! So plz appreciate your instruments and make sure to keep them sanitized in times like this😉 (just a little reminder)

Tiffany, I love watching your vlogs. I am a septuagenarian composer and cinematographer recently retired from the film biz in Hollywood, and have been so enjoying watching you influence a whole other generation to the beauty of classical music! Your playing is always exquisite, but your infectious love for music and piano performance is exciting and a pleasure to witness. Thank you dear dear Tiffany.

Just yesterday I‘ve been to a place called the ‘‘Klangmanufaktur‘‘, which was founded by 4 former Hamburg Steinway employees who optimize and refurbish Steinway instruments. They are based in Hamburg as well and have some gorgeous instruments, one of which I became completetly infatuated with, such incredible sound and also tactile qualities. I was later told it was 110 years old! The Klangmanufaktur has a very interesting approach to sound quality, as their instruments are oftentimes stripped of their paint, apparently because said paint impedes resonant vibration. A side effect of that is a sort of matte finish, showcasing the wooden texture of the instruments which I personally find more asthetically compelling than the sort of epoxy finish normally applied to grands.
Martha Argerich once rented one of their Grands to prepare for an umpcoming performance and I got to play on that exact instrument!

Thank you, Tiffany, for a very interesting tour or the Hamburg Steinway factory. As usual, your insights are educational and personal which is your signature style. It is always a pleasure to share your travels and adventures with you. I also enjoyed your last project on defining music. The insights of your colleagues were very close to my own answer to your question. Classical music is a major part of my life even though I do not play the piano or anything other than my stereo equipment. Classical music is a balm for my soul and I would not want to live without it.

Great Vlog Tiffany. I loved your tour of the Hamburg Steinway & Sons plant. You looked cute trying to handle that giant socket wrench. Upper management at Steinway must think very highly of you to offer opportunities such as this. They no doubt know a highly talented and highly skilled concert pianist when they meet one. Steinway knows you represent their company well. It looked like you had a good time making this video. That’s great because its good to see you in a relaxed down to earth setting. Keep up the good work and stay focused and happy.

Your phrasing of the Chopin Ballade 2nd theme is one of the most musical I've heard, and though I've listened to and appreciated your playing before, this is the first time I thought you could be one of the best young pianists today. There's a freshness to how your inflect the left hand arpeggios in the middle of the theme (the part with the circle of fifths) and I loved the right hand's combination of tasteful rubati combined with varying degrees of legato. The sound is warm and intimate without being indulgent and sappy. Many of the famous young pianists today don't impress me (though they aren't bad pianists by any means!) but your Chopin playing here impressed me.

That was a cool tour, and the plank bending gave me a little more insight into what goes into making these magnificent instruments. The mug is a nice touch, and the painting of the founder was cool. Looks like you cover your piano when not in use. That's a good practice to protect against dust and scratches. There's an art gallery where I live, with a 9' AB Chase which they also cover when there isn't a concert going on. It's funny that you hugged your piano while talking about your partnership with Steinway, which is like symbolically hugging the company. This is the first time I've ever associated Steinway with hugging, but here it seems perfectly natural.

Thank YOU, Ms. Poon for sharing your experience of Hamburg Steinway. Very interesting... I appreciate your desire to bring the human element into the vlog. Norm Grayston, Gorlitz, Sk.

This was a cool video. I do like both New York and Hamburg Steinways, and agree that each piano is different.
