I usually play with random teams of 3 in this game, and a common and deadly mistake I experience is one teammate will go to one compound and the second teammate will go to another, or one teammate just won't move at all for some reason and it almost never ends well. I guess it's just one of the many things I risk when queing with random people.
If you play stealthy and avoid fighting, splitting up can be a good strategy to finding the boss lair faster which can be a huge advantage. My biggest problem with random partners is them leaving me to fight enemy players alone while they hide or camp. That is incredibly frustrating, as well as when they give your position away to pot shot an enemy.
Thank you for posting this. Been having a string of random teammates who think they can just go solo and end up running into their deaths, it’s becoming a serious problem with this game lately
Unfortunately, it's always been a problem with this game. Players think they're better or don't feel mutual about moving together and just have you as backup, but won't back you up. It's not until you die and clutch that you mean anything especially when they're a lower level or prestige. It tends to be people with really low KD's that think it's TDM.
Great video. Have you ever thought about doing a video on bayonets and whether they are worth it? Like it would be nice to know the differences in sway between a regular mosin and a bayoneted one. Not to mention the differences in melee range between the riposte, the vetrelli bayonet, and the mosin bayonet. While on paper all these guns appear to be near identical in melee damage they function very differently. Like the mosin is a giant spear compared to the shorter veterelli, and the riposte has the luxury of being able to light swing mobs. Not to mention breaking down whether the extra stamina management in the end is worth being able to lethally melee without switching off of your weapon.
@@PanzerIV88 Vetterli and Mosin Bayonett one shot onto the upper body since 1.4 .Take a look into the shop, the melee damage is equal for Martini, Mosin and Vetterli bayonett variants
@@robinkiyomi7560 Oh nice! About damn time ffs. LOL When you said about the Hive Bomb "This unreliable item is a piece of..." I was soooo sure you were gonna say that it was a "POS"! Honestly it's what it is, like 3/4 of the time it backfires on me and 80% of the time my teammate throws that on ennemies while I try to flank or push, it fuc***** goes on me instead of the enemies so I told him to stop using that sh*t.
I'd love some videos on where you play with randoms, like the one where you played with a guy and you played off eachother with perfect chemistry - except I want to see some examples of it going wrong and you explaining why it goes wrong? Anyways, really enjoy your videos. I've been getting back into Hunt recently and taken a lot of your advice into mind. I've been doing great, most of my matches with randoms recently have resulted in deaths but it's usually with a few kills and most of them if not all are by me. My most memorable match was when I was paired up with two guys with less than 200 kills+deaths and we extracted with both bounties, me with all 7 kills in total. It was an incredibly annoying match but it did feel really good at the end.
This is great, Accept when you run up against a bunch of guys with 5+ KDA. and they just casually headshot your entire team without even bothering to tell they're teammates. Because the ELO system is BROKEN.
Yeah it can be rough, but players like that are rare, and even the best shots have difficulty landing hits if your movement and positioning is on point.
Great video, I've been trying to work on this a lot lately. I'd love to see a video about defending boss lairs in the future, I find I don't really know where to put myself unless I have a shotgun.
Watch some of their older videos, they do cover it but not directly. Main lessons: - don't be afraid to take up good spotter positions outside or nearby buildings if the compound allows it (think davant ranch, slaughterhouse white house, lombay docks, etc.) Just play smart. Know where/when to fall back. Also depending on situation (ie other team doesn't have bounty and compound with minimal vantage points, consider 1 of you pushing beyond compound edge. Don't reveal position/don't die, but act as a spotter and later move in behind enemy) - use and peek doors and windows, but when your enemy is distracted with your teammates (otherwise risk head being blown off) - use traps effectively. Get creative. Yellow fire barrels, choke bombs, fusees can all act as partial (but not full proof) barriers, so you can keep your main focus on another direction with good line of sight - take the time to learn the ins and outs of compounds in the trial, training modes or empty servers. Each compound has unique cracks and lines of sight that can help if you've had to fall back and retreat inside and you can anticipate which direction enemy is coming from
thats where lets say you are a trio, and one of your team mate dies BUT kills another one of the enemy team mate at the same time, making it 2 v 2, he traded his life for another life
Would anyone know why my partner dies and he doesn't lose his hunter? Whenever we are in pairs and die I lose my hunter, he keeps his with all the attributes and nothing is asked for! He got the game yesterday and, he only has 7 hours of play and I have 253 hours. Does he have any immunity or something because he is a beginner? I don't remember having those privileges when I bought the game. Any tips or help I appreciate.
Trying to get a decent team has been why i uninstalled the game. always playing solo on ps4 has been a pain in the a.. I cant find a team to go with more less duel with
Check out Irregular Ace too for some great solo gameplay / strategies. He builds loadouts too for specific solo strategies (eg. chaos bombs, stamina shots, greyhound trait, etc). Whole different way of playing / thinking.
You could register on some discord servers and search for teammembers. I’m not sure if there is a way to run discord on ps4, but you can do this on pc or with your phone. For example there is the official discord of Hunt Showdown. Also there are the servers of streamers and their community, where you can ask for someone to play with. For me this worked very well.

Go solo with tomahawk trait and the mic on and challenge people to a sledghammer throw duel
Awesome breakdown! Good explanations and good tactics, thanks for the content!

To add, the amount of friendly fire leading to downs is rising. It feels more like a game of Fall Guys than Hunt lately

i second this, would be awesome!
Only the "Heavy" from the Risposte is a one hit kill. The bayonet from the Vetterli or Mosin WON'T do a 1 hit kill body shot so beware.

In the Army what you call "bunny hopping" we call "bounding". Exact same concept though.

The dangerous kind of team is a team of lone wolves, yeah my mate got sparked but i'm totally fine flying solo~
You should do a video tips when playing with random people with no mic. That's basically my experience in hunt. Russian roulette with dummies.. 😢
I basically treat that as playing solo, except a little bit easier because you have some bait.
