If you were into fantasy movies in the early to mid eighties and dungeons and dragons, this movie actually kicked butt and was cool.
Still is cool. Time does not lessen the quality of a movie.
I come from the future, I just found out that the directing duo behind The Void, Psycho Goreman and Leprechaun Returns are actually doing a remake of Deathstalker.
The early 80's were such a good time for movies 😍
Man I miss this kind of stuff. I hope it makes a comeback at some point
well... watch the first season of the The Witcher. It's like dumb version of Deathstalker series, but with CGI.
@@creatorsunionSVERDLOVSK CGI makes movies looks plastic. But that's the digital age for you.
try Lucio Fulci's CONQUEST
@@creatorsunionSVERDLOVSK It's pretty bad. Not in a fun campy way, just really irritating
Kevin Sorbo made a Kull movie some years ago. Despite the good special effects, costumes and sets, I thought it was pretty average. To me, the best film in this genre was Conan The Barbarian (the original with Arnie.)
I actually saw this at a multiplex movie theater when it was released. I miss the days movies like it was available to see like that.
appreciate this because its camp.. This reminds me of being a young man at the video store and wondering of the clerk will let me rent it
Looks like the princess is trying to stop herself from laughing.
I remember back in the day….this was all anybody talked about in the trailer park.
1:16..."I'm TRYING not to laugh, honest!"
Herb Jergens I laughed
Even she couldn't control her laugh
Oh man, I watched it about ten times when I was a kid.
That Ogre totally inspired Bebop and Rock Steady!
Nah, this came out in 1983. Bebop and Rock Steady weren't around until 1987.
Gamorrean Guards fid it first.
Are you all kidding me? The reason to watch this movie is to see Barbi Benton. I so had a crush on her when I was a kid. She's still cute.
Happy birthday to Barbi Benton 🎂🎁🎈🎉🥂
I love it. I'd watch this over another pov stupid found-footage movie anyday.
I'm a sucker for stuff like this.
To quote the critics of Morbius: This was THE movie of all time.
If I saw this as a kid I'd be totally into it like Red Sonja, Masters of the Universe, Flesh + Blood, or the Mario Bros movie. I know they arent good, but childhood nostalgia is a wield thing.
I call it terrible goodness.
just saw this the other day and there is tons of nudity ! i was wondering how many parents rented it for their kids thinking it was like conan when in reality its like conan made for cinemaxlol...
@@kevinhunt1202 ^
The thing is these movies are more risky and exciting then modern day remakes.
Well Conan The Barbarian had nudity as well (both the original and the remake.)@@kevinhunt1202
I don't know what a man could ask for more in a sword and sorcery movie... gratuitous boob and ass shots, violence, gore, swords, a chivalrious duel, a badass female knight and so on.
Yeah, yeah, the movie is bad but enjoyable.:))
Ah yes...He-Man! 😂😂..man I'm old to even remember this movie
1:16 Even she couldn't control her laugh.
1:16 I love how the actress is visibly having a hard time holding back the giggles at 1:16
No kidding. It's hard to take any of this serious because of it too.
Yep those sword n sandals flicks that you rented just because of the cool cover.
The most legendary hero of them all! Conan, He-Man? Nope the rip off and more generic version of them.
And Star wars
@@NIGHTFLIGHTVIDEOStar Wars was a hack rip-off of Akira Kurasawa's body of work and Tolkin.
Not seen this film but recently watched Deathstalker II which was a self aware comedy pastiche of Sword and Sourcary films. Was the first film not also a comedy?
@@SW-zx3opIt looks like it takes itself a bit seriously.
It falls more in line with the way the evil dead series was a serious first movie and all sequels taking comedic positions at all points instead of horror and terror
This makes Krull look like Citizen Kane.
Classic!
that movie was my best movie ...
1:34 LOL
So much crazy!
I like that stuff...
I'm not sure why Lana Clarkson wasn't the "beautiful princess" in this movie. She did make for a beautiful, badass warrior though!
Rest In Peace Roger Corman
Seems like a poor man's Conan the Barbarian (1982), but with more fantasy elements.
Very poor man's. LIke, the poorest.
@@Three60Mafia Check out the sequels if you think this is poor.
"but with more sex"
ftfy
@@julesf.meloborges811 Yes, they at least made a coherent story with the first movie, albeit on a low budget. They didn't even try with the sequel.
Conan the Barbarian for intellectuals
Got to watch this sometime soon i forgot it existed 😁
Poor Man's Masters of the Universe
As if the original MotU was such a great movie ;p
deathstalker, legend !
Hey maybe I’ll get Deathstalker on blu ray for Christmas 🎄
HE was the MAN they called... 😂
It looks like a Cloven Hoof album in movie form. Cloven Hoof are a heavy metal/power metal band from the UK who are known for their swords/sorcery fantasy themed concepts.
Classic. Sword B- movie
This is how the zelda movie should look like. Im sure this was inspiration for the game and the animated series.
This reminds me cona and he-man
this and Fulci's CONQUEST and mint ice cream
0:09- Where every Where's Waldo picture comes to life.
0:25- Um, a Gregorian guard from Jabba's Palace?
1:05- Unless the satanic power of Anton Lavey gets in his way...Or is that The Cinema Snob?
1:58- Oh, yeah right. You sure The Scorpion King isn't lurking around the corner somewhere, waiting for HIS moment to shine?
Im probably the only one who likes this more than Conan the Barbarian.
I like how they simulated slow motion with their swordplay.
Lol maybe they couldn't afford to rent a high speed camera.
yeah baby
Best thing about this movie is Barbi Benton and her GLORIOUS rack.
Three different actors played Deathstalker in four different films but John Terlesky is by far the best looking.
shoutout to funhaus!
Conan the barbarian like movie, I liked it!
Funny movie
Heman, Conan, Deathstalker. And Liono?
Gamorrean guards had a spare day from filming Blue Harvest
Schwarzenegger's Conan 👍 is the best sword hero of all time💪
WTF...how the hell I got in here :)
they sure don't make em like they used to LOL
omg. where is my NES? wait... i never had a nes.
"its a whimsical rape riot"
Rich Evans.
Ebay.. that movie is Expensive now lol.. wtf.. nooooo
0:40 HE was the MAN to be called...DEATHSTALKER! 🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ And that's how Ladies and Gentlemen, COPYRIGHTS WORK! 😂 DEATHSTALKER!
Is he supposed to be a slim version of Conan?
Thanos of the 1980s
There's a lot of rape in this movie. Check out RedLetterMedia's "review" of it. On "Best of The Worst", episode....hmm......
It's not like there were no rapes in the Dark Ages or anything...
Masters of the Universe (wannabe) almost?
Jesus... 🤦🏻♂
"beautiful" to her mom maybe lol
lol why is this on shudder
Because it's exploitation. Shudder has more than just horror on their server.
completely glosses over all the rape lmfao
This looks shockingly bad. Is the oversized Ork on the cover art even in the movie?
There was a lot of 3rd rate Conan knock offs in the early 80's. By the mid 80's they were al but extinct. This one was so cheesy, it was cheesy for the 80's. Ughhh.
Oh yes, I remember there were a huge number of Conan clones back in those days. As much as I liked Conan The Barbarian, I thought most of the copycat films that followed were garbage. Ator was so bad, it was hilarious. Beast Master was one of the better ones. I'll have to check out this one...not sure if Ive seen it before.
So Lame!
Funny movie
