    I'm having an old friend over for dinner in July and I think this is the perfect summer dinner party dessert. I'll definitely be making this!

      OK I made a test version of it completely following the instructions and it came out perfect and really delicious! I did though use a silicon loaf pan, instead of the metal one. I was able to pull out the Semifreddo with zero resistance from the pan!

    Hi I am ritired and I have to sit allot so I watch you guys all day every day ,it's about time that I can cause I worked till I was 81 I never had time to watch you do thanks allot for being you .do you guy's make thin crust pizza I'd like to learn that thank you , bye the way try white wine instead of sugar in tomato sauce much more delicious that's how I do it thank you again

    Semifreddo was the recipe that brought me into Cooks Illustrated back in the 90s. Glad to see it make a come back on video!

    🍒🍫 Classic combination indeed - chocolate covered cherries; Black Forest cake; Cherry Garcia; cherry chocolate stout. Chocolate semifreddo with cherry sauce would be right up my alley. 👍

    I clicked on the link to download the recipe, but I have to inform you that, although the link brings you to a receipt for what is listed as Semifredo, the receipe is not the same as the receipt that is demonstrated here. For example, the ingredients listed in the link are: "4 teaspoons salt, 2 chocolate bar biscuit croissant topping, 1 jelly cotton candy, ½ jelly gummies, 2 cups liquorice chocolate, 2 jelly beans bonbon, 2 caramels tart gummi bears, 6 butterscotch caramel lollipops, 12 tbsp butter, ¼ cup sugar". With regard to the "instructions, the first sentence reads as follows: "Cupcake ipsum dolor sit amet chocolate bar halvah carrot cake donut. Caramels chocolate bar donut cookie. Halvah apple pie apple pie brownie donut cheesecake". I checked this link several times and every time this is what I found. I copied this from your link and did not change a word. Perhaps you could check out the link.

    I already knew how to make “Semifreddo” but I love watching you two together! “Cherry Juice better-wise known as a shirt killer”. 😂 As much as l love Chocolate, l prefer a Raspberry & Pistachio Semifreddo.

    They said this semifreddo won't melt fast like a cremon glaze would. I've never heard of that. Is a cremon glaze simular to ice cream?

      I think you mean crème anglaise, which is a classic custard sauce and the base of custard ice creams.

    I made the excellent choice to watch this while I'm on a no-sugar month. Very proud of myself. 😂 This looks delicious - and much simpler than I would have imagined.

      I've been following a sugar free diet for three years. I'm always trying to make a sugar free version of their recipes. Try using a sugar substitute (I like Allulose because it doesn't have an aftertaste and It reacts like sugar), making any adjustments for the difference in sweetness. Also, I would use an alternative for the thickener for the cherries (I like Glucomannan, about 1/2 tsp. that you can add without any more liquid - it won't lump like cornstarch.)

    Great job on teaching us how to make this! In order to copy the recipe on your website, we have to log in for a free trial. No thanks. I do not want to have to pay for a recipe.

    I subscribe to your channel and love the content. It irritates me that when I follow the link to get the recipe, I'm asked to join. I was a member, but didn't visit the site enough to warrant the monthly renewal. I refuse to rejoin. If you're making the recipe, at least make the recipe in printed form available.

      I agree. If you are offering the recipe of a video presentation, it should be available without having to start a subscription. Or you should state that you have to subscribe to the website in order to get the recipe. Deceptive practice!

    Adding coffee to chocolate makes a NEW FLAVOR. I've decided to call it MOCHA. If you're making a mocha dessert that's fine. But don't call it chocolate. And yes, I can test the coffee.

      Walter, compared to making Chocolate Gelato and not having to use an Ice Cream Machine... This is easy. I used to make Wedding Cakes for a living, that’s not easy. But then again, l loved my work. Life is only as hard or easy as one makes it. 😉

    Real semifreddo is made with Italian merengue and pâté a bomb, this is a frozen chocolate mousse

      That's not how I've seen Semifreddo made. Marcella Hazan made a very simple version. I think there were only four ingredients.

      Actually, instant coffee is one of the more common flavor boosters along with salt for chocolate. It doesn't taste like coffee, it just tastes more chocolatey!

      @@sobored8786 I have tried it. Several times, in fact. However, I cannot stand the taste of coffee and there is always an unpleasant aftertaste when coffee is mixed with chocolate. So I stand by my original statement.

      They do have Elle Simone, who I love, but they don't feature her nearly enough, and I agree that they need MUCH more diversity. Chefs of color deserve more prominent representation worldwide.
      One of the (many) things I loved about singer Lizzo's Grammy performance is that her backing orchestra consisted entirely of black female musicians. Talk about a lack of representation!

      People are not chocolate or vanilla. It is illegal to hire or fire people because of their color or ethnicity. Maybe ATK doesn't want to deal with a discrimination lawsuit.
