depends on what you want. but 99% of the time, you want to have the blue color showing over the red side. Red makes the mesh invisible while blue doesn't.

When I import my slash texture it always comes out with a warp instead of having the crescent shape, do you know how to fix this? I've been using blender for a short while so I barley know anything.
Save your slash texture as that weird blob thing, not when its transformed to actually look like a slash. Save as original, not as transformed with polar coordinates.
Why didn't you show us how to make a masking image? I love your tutorials and I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to teach us this stuff, but I don't really feel comfortable clicking on links and downloading stuff that I don't know is safe. I don't want to seem ungrateful, but compared to the other stuff you're teaching us to do, making a clipping mask shouldn't be too complicated?

Before I made the tutorials, I actually went through a lot of trial and error to create a really good masking image for the slash. I didn’t want give a hard time to people that aren’t good at art. @@MwSama I took a screenshot of the part of the video which showed the masking image. It was a bit blurry, but I fixed it a little in ibis paint and it worked. Thank you! Although, and I'm not sure if this is related, but my slash texture in blender has a weird gap in between the top and the bottom of the slash texture. Like, the image just isn't reaching the edge of the UFO shaped mesh for some reason?
Would this work in workbench render engine because my blender would crash if its in evee or cycle and its not the image is not showing on the mesh part
U probably need to flip the uv map vertically. To find more info, join my discord and check out the faq channel which shows the solution to ur problem.
S is used to scale in blender. If it turned into a small point, you likely scaled it really small. Fix it by simply moving your mouse in the opposite direction. If you already committed to a scale (mouse-click/enter), you can undo it with [ctrl]+[z] and try again.
for the tutorial series, it doesn't really matter what type of rig you are using. Though I won't get into that stuff any time soon because that is part of the coding tutorials that I haven't really worked on yet.

When I load the slash texture in, it does not cover the object till the end and is much smaller than a slash, is there a way I could fix this?

I think you UV unwrapped ur mesh weirdly. Maybe join my discord and send pictures of ur uv map mesh and shade editor

For some reason on Ibis paint no matter how much I tried to make the brush size bigger it will not go above 30 px

The hard part about making masking image is getting the correct shape. The shape has to be in a certain way to get the perfect crescent slash look.

U probably if unwrapped it weirdly. Try redoing the UV unwrap on mesh
