There needs to be a policy: no ear piercings for infants under 6 months old. I know they won’t remember but it’s clearly painful. Her immune system is so new. What if the piercing becomes infected?
No piercings at all for anyone below the age of consent (or age of consent with parents agreement). It's body modification. When children become old enough they can decide.

I asked the doctor when it was ok. He said after first vaccination. Their skin is said to be thinner and less nerves developed since pain should be tolerable with tylenol. Also they don’t remember the pain. Most times it scares them more than hurt.

I'm starting to see more and more people speak out against this. I strongly believe that the child should be the one to decide if they want this or not. My daughter was 13 before she decided she wanted it done. Parents doing this at such a young age are only doing it for their satisfaction.

wait till the baby is about 1 years old, that way it wont hurt as much, as a young age the skin is softer, and it wont hurt as much, and since the baby is 1 years old, when the baby cries,u can give them a lollipop,thats how my 3 year old got his ears pierced,he stopped crying right away after I gave him his lollipop!!

In my family we wait until a year old.
I asked the doctor when it was ok. He said after first vaccination. Their skin is said to be thinner and less nerves developed since pain should be tolerable with tylenol. Also they don’t remember the pain. Most times it scares them more than hurt.

Ear piercing is body modification-whether you want to admit it or not. To do this to a tiny baby is child abuse, and should not even be legal. And just because something is popular/or accepted/or expected within a culture doesn't make it morally right. Children aren't our property. I let my oldest daughter decide that for herself when she turned 8 and I will let my youngest decide as well! I WILL NOT decide that for them, if she wants to feel that pain she will tell you. I don’t follow what everyone else do. IM THE LEADER and I decide to let my children choose. I didn’t have mine pierced til I was 12 🤷🏽♀️😁💯

It's extremely hurtful to see this cruelty to this baby. It was even worst because she was sleeping. Her eyes were not even open and she could hardly catch her breath for a few seconds. To the parents - you should have waited until she was a little bit older. This must have been emotionally traumatic for your daughter.
