Glad to see the channel crossing over into the preparedness side of things, and as we are neighbors (Maine), I have a feeling we face a few of the same challenges. Cheers!

Hello listening and well said I agree. Yeah I’m not bugging out in -35c. I’ve actually walked home for 3 hrs twice now. Yes I noticed the B-roll :)

-35c is brutal to do any activity in

Ice Storm: We were without Power for 36 days consecutive in the middle of Canadian winter. Being well prepared we stayed in our home but very few did.

The SHTF folks make me laugh. It's not a realistic thing to prep for. Might as well prep for the sun going supernova.
I've designed my stuff similar to you. I have a bag I take every time I leave the house just in case... weather, flood, earthquake (we don't get many in southern ontario) tornado (Orangeville and area get them), and the bag contains enough for me to get home if need be, or find a spot and take shelter for a day or two.
Along with that bag, I have a duffel in my trunk all of the time that has more in it, more things for having a fire, more things for shelter, more for cordage, etc.
Then I have seasonal stuff always packed too. In the winter, some decent snow shoes (cheap enough at Decathalon) and snowpants in the trunk. If snow is the issue, it gets tiring walking in and sinking in snow. Plus I use those in the winter for some trekking on paths and off paths so they get some use. In the summer, a couple cans of bug spray and long sleeve merino wool shirt and linen pants for light clothes that won't make me sweat my nutsack off.
For the backpack, I wanted it to be as light and minimal as possible, but still allow me to have only that for 48 hours if something happened and I was nowhere near the car and the duffel.
Plan for the most probable thing. Doesn't make sense to plan for the least probable thing. to me.

Now I got a sleep over bag (for staying at the daughters) and I ensure it’s packed with random grangran approved sweeties/food and drink for the grandson. And plenty of socks. He likes to steal them off my feet so I can’t leave.
      🤣

Well, that is good and i understand how you are thinking and i agree for you it is better to have a get home bag rather than a bug out bag. And as you said a forest fire are a real danger and it can be really a dangerous situation.

Between the forest fires and Snow/Ice, there isn't much else that worries us

The time of day that you have to start walking home will also dictate what you need to carry. Also the time a year like you said.

Farm boy I too was waiting for videos like this. Since the pandemic I had realized that a get home is more important than a go bag.
If possible could you give us a list of gear that you are using . PS I miss the shop
    Cheers
