As somebody with guilty OCD who's currently the only one who fasts fully in my home and suffers tension from it, this is helpful to remember. 🙏

I believe Saint Paul says he would eat meat (when not the appropriate time) if it meant he would NOT scandalize his brethren.

My dear, give thanks to God for having a family who loves you enough to feed you. Eat within reason and according to what your spiritual father advises. When you leave your home to make one of your own, then you may fast from those foods.

I’ve always had a problem with tyranny. I’m naturally a disagreeable guy. And I’m a former Protestant. But when a first attended an Orthodox Church. I realized that orthodoxy might be the furthest thing away from Tyranny. Priest doing liturgy on behalf of the people wearing vestments that they do can’t be comfortable
I would hesitate to use the word, Pharisee. Because Pharisees are Pharisees out of their own making. Out of their own tyranny and Vanity.
In fact, I’d argue that most Protestant ministers are more pharisetical than an orthodox priest

Keeping Orthodox (right worship) is not the same as the pharisees under any circumstance. To follow the teachings of Jesus, His apostles, and their descendants is in no way the same as being like the pharisees.
