Thank you so much for your message Father. It gives me hope as well as teaches me I must get on my own knees and pray to God continually for repentance.
I know I am OO (Coptic Orthodox) but I really like listening to these messages from Abbot Tryphon, they are encouraging. Wow, "Four Months" you sounded absolutely heart broken when you said that, it must be a heavy thing to know. I pray everyone fights and returns to their parishes and not become slack.
We must keep praying in our domestic churches, and keep "attending" Church online, at least, until God's healing breaks forth -- for the enemy struggling within us all....Thank you, Fr. We are blessed by your words (as always). I am glad to see you recovered from your fall in the Spring! 🙏🕯☦
Notes by Dostoevsky on nihilism from Crime and Punishment; " Nihilism is lakeyishness of thought a nihilist is a lackey of thought." The term nihilism, first used philosophically in German (nihilismus) to signify annihilation, a reduction to nothing (attributed to Buddha), or the rejection of religious beliefs and moral principles, came via the French nihilisme to Russian, where it acquired a political meaning, referring to the doctrine of the younger generation of socialist of the 1860's, who advocate the destruction of the existing social order without specifying what should replace it. Glory to God
Fr Tryphon Yes, I made a mistake. The Morning Offering is stupendous! I found your blog on Ancient Faith two weeks ago. I read it every day. It is so clear and clean. The photos are very refreshing. I love the space and clarity and the messages deeply touch my heart. Thank you for this heavenly place online.
I find this just showing up on my recommendations. It's strange because as I have been studying Russia and the religion. I've been wondering about your teaching and if it's lining up with my relationship with Jesus in his ways. I'm pleasantly surprised to find it is aligning perfectly. I thank you God for bringing me to hear and practice the teachings of our Lord. COVID and the smo has made me full of the fire the Lord teaches us about.
Get an Orthodox study Bible follow the morning and evening devotions in the back of it. Start praying the ancient Jesus prayer, "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner." Find an Orthadox church near you and meet with the priest and tell him your situation. God will help you.
so god could end the pandemic in a second, but he won't because we can't stop sinning... it's a shame god won't give humans the ability to create something, perhaps injectable, that can prevent lethal cases of this horrible disease... or tell us what precautions we can take to stop the spread... but we can't stop sinning... so these things are denied to us :(
@@josephsaab7208 she thinks somehow being condescending will somehow push her belief that the vaccines will save us from the pandemic. I guess she hasn't done much research about vaccines of the past
You still believe in this hoax tho? Modern science is not God-given, it's heathen. It's not God causing all this, He IS life, sinning is going away from God wich is eternal life, what you achieve by going away from life? Death, of course. The fact that people took 3 shots, use masks and bend the knee to Lockdowna for 2 years and It still didn't work should tell you something, dear one. God could not only end the pandemic, but He could save us all instantly, but If an imposong act alone were to save us, be It from sickness or sin, It would not be a part of our being.
Oof. I have a lot of respect for Abbot Tryphon, but the Bolsheviks were NOT fascists. They were communists. Fascism and communism are diametrically opposed.
Father Tryphon knows what communism is, he then makes the next step to aknowledge that both far ends eventually lead to destruction. As he said, isn't censorship or imrisonment of priests and church fascist? Surely, fascism and communism claim to have different means of achieving their goals. But their goals eventually lead to the same conclusion, they are against human.
@@lupinthe4th400 Definitely not. If your country is traditionally Christian, imprisoning priests and shutting down churches is anti-fascist. Fascism is a system in which the government has authority over economy and the social realm. The economy is pseudo-private. The fascist state institutes policies that are designed to protect and promote traditional culture. For instance, under the Third Reich, family formation was incentivized and degenerate behaviors were heavily discouraged. Now, it is true that Hitler mildly persecuted the church, but that was not a fascist policy; that was a deviation from fascism. If the Empire of Japan arrested priests, that'd be consistent with fascist principles as they are not traditionally a Christian nation. Communism and all forms of marxism seek to level everyone except the rulers to the level of slaves so that all are "equal". Fascism rejects this egalitarian ideology and seeks to promote natural hierarchy reinforced through the state. For instance, a fascist state would identify those with skills and grit and promote them to positions of power in an effort to maximize their potential for the benefit of the nation-state. Communism operates in a wildly different way. Though neither is ideal, because fascism recognizes the natural order that God established in His Creation, it will always produce superior results to marxist states but inferior to capitalist ones that fully embrace the natural order. I talked a bit with Abbot Tryphon. He is absolutely qualified to speak on Marxism/Communism, but it was clear to me that his concept of fascism is shaped by its common usage and not by its actual definition nor by historical example.
@@NowhereNN well, I am not an authority on the subject but, I believe that by claiming to serve the people's rights by persecuting the Church, sending all opposition to concentration caps in Syberia and excuting more of your own people than the Nazis killed in Russia, is very similar to fascism. Like I said, that means may be somewhat different but the outcome is again disaster. There hasn't been a single successful communist country. The only one that could have been successful, in terms of economy alone (because on the other parts it's again an oppresive system), would be China. But again, China's foreign trade policy is capitalistic. On the inside they are communists, on the outside they are supplying all the West... My point isn't that communism and fascism are the same thing in terms of ideology. Otherwise, there would have had the same name. My point is that far ends are oppresive and ultimately lead to destruction. The difference is, people in Nazi Germany may had at least something to eat, in comparsion with Soviet Russia. Nevertheless, if there is no connection with God, all political ideas fail. Humans cannot live without God. But in the case of Soviet Russia, the government abandoned and persecuted God, and in the case of Nazi Germany, Hitler was seen as the absolute authority. It is only natural that if we base truth to our very limited knowledge alone, we are doomed to destruction.
@@lupinthe4th400 Agreed. I don't know about other western countries, but I don't think America can be saved without a far-right dictatorship. I would prefer it not be fascism, but I'd take fascism any day over what the dominant political force is pushing.
@J. R. R. Tolkien Ok fine. They're arch-nemeses. Even Mises, as libertarian-right as you can find, admitted that, if it wasn't for fascism, Europe would have fallen to communism. The point is that using fascism as this catchall term for authoritarianism is woefully incorrect.
