  • As the premier dealer/installer for Van Compass suspension products in the Pacific NW, check out the suspension upgrades Matrix Integrated’s Sprinter technicians are adding to this 2023 Sprinter 2500 AWD (VS30/907 chassis);
    --Van Compass/Falcon 3.3 fast adjust inverted front Rally Strut, which is 10way compression adjustable
    --VanCompass/Falcon 2.25" 3.3 fast adjust remote reservoir rear shock, which is 10way compression adjustable
    --Sumo Spring front bump stops

    VC’s all new inverted damper strut is produced from aerospace grade materials. Inverted dampers flip the idea of the conventional strut upside down, and use the damper body as the upper strut shaft, while the load bearing unit is contained in a massive lower housing that connects to the steering knuckle. This is the same application of technologies you will find on Dakar and World Rally Championship cars, which see some of the harshest driving conditions imaginable.
    Major Benefits:
    --Significantly increased load bearing surface area for long service life
    --Damper shaft and seal surfaces are protected inside lower housing
    --Much larger damping piston vs OEM
    --Greater clamping force for alignment specs
    Due to the strut's ideal position near the wheel, we are able to maximize the effectiveness of the 3.3 Fast Adjust cartridge. The result is a truly PHENOMENAL increase in damping performance, which translates to more stable and predictable handling, greater control across all conditions, and the ability to actually use the suspension to its full potential on and off road.
    VC’s proprietary Rate Cup retains the OEM upper strut bushing for ease of installation and retention of OEM NVH characteristics. The patent pending Rate Cup preloads the bushing for tighter road feel, while dispersing the damping forces over the entire surface area of the bushing to prevent annoying clunks and premature bushing wear common with other solutions.
    These struts are designed as a direct OEM replacement for any van, from stock passenger vans, luxury coaches and Class C RV's, to heavily modified adventure vans. They are compatible with stock height vans, and vans equipped with the VC Striker lift kits.

    All of these components are available for both NCV3/906 (’07-18) and VS30/907 ('19+) chassis Sprinter. Professional installation of any of these upgrades (and many others) available at either our Bend or Portland, Oregon locations (no sales tax). I have a 2018 sprinter 4x4
    170 wheelbase. I don’t go hard-core off-road with it but I do want to get the bigger tires 18 inch and raise the backend a little bit because I think it’s sags. What do you suggest? I will put rhino rims on it as well.

    I’ve seen both the new strut and the VC shock on the front, is that shock no longer needed with this setup or is there an advantage to having both?

      @mikelaan61970 Excellent question. Here's our/VC's advice;
      --For 4WD...if you already have a front adj aux shock installed, then go with the non-adj (Monotube) Rally strut once you feel the need for more front end control and/or when your factory strut starts getting more miles on it (all depending on how much it's been abused of course). If you don't have any upgraded susp, then go with the adj Rally strut and probably no need for the front aux shock. Having both a front adj aux shock AND the adj Rally strut is too many adjustments for most to make good sense of.
      --For RWD, since they have no room up front for a front aux shock, and the van is loaded heavier, varies terrain between pavement and off-pavement, or drives in strong winds, then go with the front adj Rally strut. If little/none of the above, then the non-adj front Rally strut will still be worlds better than OEM or even the good Bilstein B6.

    So you could use the rally strut without an aux shock and be fine?

      @Joe-nx7nj Yes for sure. And adjustable or non-adjustable Rally Strut would depend on your use case.
