    About 25 days ago I didnt even know the turkish alphabet. 3 days ago I finished your A1 lessons and I'm 13 videos in your vocabulary lessons from the playlist, and I can read fluently and understand more than 50 percent of short stories and letters I'm reading.
    I wanted to take the time and thank you so, so much for the effort you are putting in these videos.
    Keep up the good work and dont be dicouraged with the low number of viewes you are getting.

    Another great video-thank you!! Just wondering, is there a way to say 'waiting for ages' or does that not transfer over into Turkish?

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  6 месяцев назад +1

      Literally translation:
      We have been waiting for a hero for ages.
      Asırlardır bir kahraman bekliyoruz.
      Yıllardır bir kahraman bekliyoruz.
      In daily speech, if you are trying to say that you have been waiting for a long time:
      I have been waiting for ages.
      Beklemekten ağaç oldum.
      (I turned into a tree because of waiting)

    "for" and "since" are basicaly perfect tense time markers in English. so does this mean you don't really have "perfect tenses". you just use present/past progressive verb tenses and then use "for" and "since" to show that it has/had been going on for a long time? by the way, how many verb tenses do you have in Turkish? for example: English has 12 active tenses.

    • @LearnTurkishvia
      @LearnTurkishvia  2 года назад +2

      Exactly, in Turkish, we use "Present continuous tense" instead of "Present Perfect Continuous Tense".
      And about tenses, it's a bit complicated. Maybe I make a separate lesson about all of them together with comparisons.
