a good tip if you are away from your meater and have a smart watch, leave your phone near the cook and your watch will ping the notification when it is ready, could technically work anywhere in the world if your watch is connected to wifi
Hi guys, Will be buying this as a gift for my parents. from time to time they make use of the rotisserie oven on their fancy range cooker. (meat is cooked on a splint on a motor roughly in the centre of the oven from heat provided from the grill element at the top of the oven) Was just wondering if the Meatr would be suitable to use on this type of rotisserie and if so where would be the best place to insert the probe and could this cause anomalies with the ambient temp readings being sent to the app. Any tips and info on using it on a rotisserie will be great. Many thanks
Set up your grill with half hot, half warm... make sure your probe is facing the cooler side...pop a sheet of tinfoil under where probe is to deflect a bit of heat
Interesting information. Only Problem I had was the music over the top was killing it .turned volume up but just made music louder.apart from that perfect
I've just bought a meater and it takes about 35 minutes to calculate when using a pellet grill/smoker. I think that fluctuations in ambient temperature can confuse the unit estimations.
Thanks for the video. The down side is the sound was really bad. The birds chirping and the music made it very difficult to understand you. Not complaining but unless your audience gives you feedback, how do you know if your content is good? Thanks again, it was informative.
Contrary to your statement that Meater answers questions, I can NOT get them to answer a simple question. I've asked this twice and I get ZERO response. Simple question: I have two Meater+ probes. I want to cook two ribeye steaks. I set up a cook for two ribeyes. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PROBE IS IN WHICH STEAK????? They refuse to answer this question that I would think anyone with two or more probes would want to know!
I was having trouble with my phone disconnecting from the base too much. Even at close range. I hacked the process by installing the meater+ and the app on a second phone and using it as a stationary dashboard inside the connection range. While my personal phone stays with me at all times and every where outside the connection range limitation . Assuming both devices maintain internet access, solved my biggest problem. Now I can do me (outside the base connection requirements), while the slow smoking process takes place and get real time updates on my phone . 😎🤓😎
Love the ambient temperature hack ....simple and was the one question I had and couldn't find an answer to - thanks !
Cheers, simple hacks are often the best
I’m a new user of a meater+. This was very helpful. Thank you
Cheers, glad it helped

Thanks for the vid, I just can’t seem to get consistent results with my meater. But this has given me the kick up the bum to try again!!
Cheers, hope it helps, meater support are brilliant too, reach out if you struggle
Yeah, it works great when it works.
Thinking in a continues improvement mindset, less background wind noise and music are a positive.. Better mics are a must!
Great video what about rotisserie cooks just got mine best place ment for it as it says not over direct heat
Cheers, perfect for rotisserie, should have a few vids here for ideas

Meater+ should be perfect for this, i place the probe parallel to the rotisserie
How do I know when my meter is don't charging or charging at all
When storing this do you leave it plugged in? I would just worry about it getting hot charging all the time
It's not plugged in, runs on battery
Great device but when I use it on the gas BBQ it overheats and I have to take it off, any suggestions

Great content mate but would suggest getting some mics as you sound a little far away
Thank you, apologies, the sound was pretty challenging as it was really windy

I suggested the onion or potato ambient temperature tip to them a year ago, but they replied saying they didn't think it was a good idea. 🙄
Hmm I've been doing it a while too, sometimes takes a change of mind
Is it possible to use two of the meater 2plus at the same time on my phone ? If so can someone explain how to do it ? Thanks
Yup
@@CountryWoodSmoke pretty weak response😒🤷🏻
@kenmcfetridge4411 you just set up 2 units on the app, it's pretty straight forward
@@CountryWoodSmoke thank you
Due to shortage, my MEATER Block only has two probes. Will my MEATER+ probes work in the Block?
No idea, best to contact meater customer support on this one
They have to be out of the block to work
ive had a brisket on for 3.5 hours and it still hasnt estimated the cooking time!! what am i doing wrong??

I think your ambient temperature is too low. Compared to your target temperature.
Mine is 1 meter from the pit and maybe 4 meters from the router. Every ten minutes it shutdown.
Have you contacted meater support?

Its simple to answer really, they have some numbered metal clips that attach to the probes

Sorry, the sound quality was so bad and intermittent, ci couldn't watch for more than a minute. Fix the sound, because I'm interested in MEATER tips.
I've got other videos for meater tips, we struggled with mics that day
