I have this digitally in 4k and tho it still looks better than its standard blu ray counterpart. I am disappointed it doesn't have the imax scenes intact on the digital version
I thought the standard blu ray looked amazing on a 4K player with the imax scenes oh well these are some of my favorites of any of the Batman films! Thanks for the review always it’s nice to have some idea of the quality after purchasing a movie more than once
Something about those 4k players that make standard Blu-rays look as good as the 4k Blu-rays
Another spot on review, I think Rises is definitely the best of the trilogy Picture Quality wise
I agree. The whites of the snow, with the contrasting blacks of the shadows of building makes for some stunning IMAX shots. Which you can’t find in the other two. Which is not devaluing how stunning these movies are. HDR was accidentally turned off when I first watched these movies. My jaw was still dropped. that’s how stunning it is.
These was really clear definitely worth the buy
Right after the chase scene, there is the scene when Gordon opens the convoy to find Harvey Dent. This scene in particular looses the deep black the movie has and the image looks grey and washed out. Did you notice that as well ?
I have a 4K tv now and the Xbox one x. I have never seen a 4K Blu-ray yet and wondering if it’s worth the price to buy again.
Hey Shane, do you know if the 1080p disc copy that comes along with the 4K disc package, is that 1080p copy the exact same as the previously released original 1080p copy from 2008? Or is that a remastered 1080p derived from the new 4K re-scan that made the 4K disc?
+Sean Yu same. Audio is DTS tho
If I'm not mistaken the original blu-ray release was 5.1 Dolby TrueHD?
+Ryan Fawcett I think you are correct. This Bluray rerelease is DTS though.
Yeah, I think you're right as well. My assumption is that both the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 tracks are derived from the same Warners home entertainment audio mix wav or aiff files that are uncompressed. Both tracks are losslessly compressed, so technically, they should sound bit for bit 1:1 identical since they're losslessly encoding/decoding the same wav file audio mix. DTS might have a higher bitrate, but I don't know if this makes a difference, since like I said, it's lossless.
SpareChange 2012 on 4k bluray October 28 English Dolby Atmos
The Blu-ray didn't have a DTS Master Audio track - it was Dolby TrueHD.
Where can I get the exact copy you have comes with digital code?
Kinda odd that you started with The Dark Knight instead of Batman Begins. great review though.
+Miguel Rivera I did the best of the 3.
Dark knight Rises is the absolute BEST of the trilogy
@@claudejones3451 no. TDK is easily
@@bestwarrior8422 yeah DKR was mediocre at best, cant compete watching the dark knight in movies, we were all blown away w oooowwws and ahhhhs all of us in crowded movie thester in 2007 or 2008, who the hell even watched the 3rd in movies??? And the story and action and surprises and characters were garbage in comparison, not bad but a joke in comparison.
Does the Christopher Nolan Collection come with individual slipcovers for the movies? I noticed you had slipcovers in your reviews.
+NeoGeo46 They don't have individual slips. The first two movies I reviewed I bought separately.
Hello, at 10:45 into the movie my scene turns blue when they are in the safe. Is that happening to anybody?
Too bad Nolan didn't allow scanning the original negative for the new transfers. These could have looked even better.
question I have Sony AE1 oled & Oppo player the jokers coat is dark blue not purple do u see the same thing otherwise it looks great but I can not get passed the coat issue by the way tv is calabrated
Can't wait for my Christopher Nolan 4K Collection to arrive tomorrow. Should be my new demo material.
+robertpaulson31 They're good. Don't think they'd classify as demo though 🤔
That's kinda disappointing considering the 150$ price tag. Oh well, thanks for the reviews.
robertpaulson31 how do they look?
You said this video is shot in film, so it has grain, is grain all those dots in certain movies?
Yes
SpareChange thanks man 😊 I really dislike grain, is there any way to tell if a movie has grain before I purchase it?
Watch our review 😁
SpareChange I Did, must have missed something, going to watch it again 😮
@@therealshanelee if there change underworld evolution comes in 4k bluray can you review it.
I remember watching this at my uncles house. His TV was a 4K ULTRA HRD tv 60 inch. BUT the display was 60 fps? now how do you get that?
Turn on smooth motion or motion flow or whatever motion enhancement you have on your tv.
Nice Review. Already preordered it (Release is the 6th Januar in Germany). Hope you'll review the other 2 movies soon:)
I am disappointed by the audio big time. They should have put a dts x or atmos track. Sound is muffled as well. Not that rich and immersive. I didn't like at all.
Just watched it, didnt like the audio mix, dialogue was so quiet and action was loud
The regular Blu-ray looked like trash very dated and crushed blacks I'm glad the 4K is a upgrade.
Loving your reviews on 4K blu rays. Can you please add English subtitles on this video for us deaf people. It only got Italian. Thanks.
+Adam Martin I'm surprised even get that 🤔
Man, I thought the bass was hard and heavy hitting in this.
How is the audio on this? Saw it in a run down multiplex in regular with so so audio and the picture was 2k digital. Then I got the blu ray. It was the first major disc to have imax scenes in the film despite having the image cropped for widescreen. On the 2 disc DVD there are the full frame imax scenes on another disc.
Thank you sir. New subscriber here.
The greatest super hero movie ever made period 👍👍👍
But... uh... Logan?
@@obstmann7740 Logan is worthy to stand next to this, but I take this one.
@@kaleodos Well now we have Joker. The competition is brewing...
Shane only 360p WTF????
+Jim Cameron you may have to refresh it.
SpareChange i did it still 360 but it is not so important, did you like.. SW EP8? Me no, EP7 was better, my opinion, so i am happy for JJ directing EP9
You got here too early for all the P's.
+Jim Cameron it's 4K on my end. Yeah I enjoyed it.
SpareChange even the 3D was on EP7 much better including one great 3D pop out scene, but then again was in EP8 better than Rough One 3D
How is the audio compared to the 2008 bluray
Audio is not good at all. Its the same
I think the Dark Knight on 4K Blu Ray with a 4k Blu Ray Player on a Samsung 55’ Q8 Tv with HDR is an amazing viewing experience ! Nothing Beats 4K Blu Ray on a 4K Blu Ray Player on a Samsung 4K Tv with HDR. - Joe Gurtoski
Don’t buy the blu ray Apple TV has be the film in Dolby vision it looks miles better
upload it on torrent!!
Dolby Atmos is so over-rated. The bitrate is higher but the surround effect sounds the same. I’m glad they didn’t change the audio in this release
I hate when movies switch aspect ratios. Like my screen masking to frame the picture in nice and crisp.
