8 years have passed since the most recent Thyrfing album, 8 damn years in which we believed that their sound had completely turned off, we could not be more wrong and although their sound will never be like that of yesteryear (and for the good of the band itself ), today we finally have this gift. AGGGRRRR THAT GOOD VIDEO AND THE SONG IS SIMPLY EVERYTHING EPIC, GLORIOUS AND DEVASTATING THAT I IMAGINED:
When I was 15, I was obsessed with Viking metal and specially with this band. Now, I'm 30, actually more into 'goth music' genres, but I still can feel the same energy Thyrfing's music made me feel as a teenager.
My favorite albums are the first 2, "Thyrfing" and "Valdr Galga". "Urkraft" was pretty good but didn't care much with the ones after. THIS sounds very nice.
I was a bit afraid that after such a long period of not releasing an album, the sound of the band would've been compromised. But the long years of slumber did pay off in the end! What an amazing song, and what an amazing return, guys!

They're back at last. Viking/black metal kings, just before Enslaved and Bathory. Jens Rydén is still amazing. I also remember how amazing are Farsotstider, De ödeslösa and Valdr Galga. Now, we just need a new Moonsorrow album. Most well-known folk/viking/black metal bands have released new albums recently. Even Thyrfing are finally back
Great, love the overall epic sound to it, i hope there’s more violins etc on the whole album. Only downside I feel is that the vocals could be mixed better

Same, Digerdöden is one of perhaps 5 songs that I've listened to consistently for nearly two decades and never tired of. Goosebumps every time.

That's not Thomas. It's Jens Ryden (ex-vocalist of Naglfar) Thomas left the band in 2007 due to lack of motivation.
