Tbh, in this collab Chloe's voice was all over the place, in one instance she sounded like your day-to-day average female resident in Kansai region then in another one she sounded like an exited highschooler girl from Osaka.

Well not all of them fake their voice on Stream.
From what i know Polka, Lamy and Botan don't change theirs at all or just VERY slightly, since all 3 crashed into a Stream once unaware that they're on stream, OFC there's the possibility they fake their voices among each other as well, but that's unlikely.
Nene has been confirmed to usually talk in slightly different voice as at times when she accidentally gets caught on Stream her Voice is slightly different, but you can still tell clearly it's Nene.
And yeah i used NePoLaBo as examples because those 4 are pretty much the only JP Members i still watch.
@@MikayaAkyo the difference is probably just the pitch of their voice, some of them streaming voice has higher pitch than their normal daily. Higher pitch give the feeling of enjoyment and enthusiasm while streaming to keep the mood up.

It's hard to tell with singing. A better example would be her first(?) offline collab. Chloe didn't even realize she was using her 'normal' voice that time. Iirc, the stream after that was also the first time she told us that her cute voice isn't her real voice.
I prefer her natural voice quite a bit, but I know the JP side of things pitches up quite a bit more to aim for 'cute'. It's also a thing women tend to do in general with people they like while men tend to pitch downwards with people they're into. Mori seems to pitch towards "You're a somewhat dumb pet but she likes you a lot" voice.
@@witchkiller9999 Yup, and you probably know this, but even that voice was still more high-pitched than her actual voice. I think her voice should be as deep as Suisei’s, maybe slightly deeper.
i only managed to catch a couple of her singing streams, but hearing her on the deco stage, im pretty sure the very low pitch shes singing in sometimes is also straining to her voice.
in addition to other things people have already mentioned, sora explained a while ago that using a kind of falsetto actually makes talking for a long time easier.
there is also the simple fact that they are streaming, the "tension" from that also leads to everyone speaking in higher voice than they normally would.
but if you watch enough streams, you will hear all kinds of voices coming out of them. for most of the talents, they are all their "natural" voices, unless they are obviously faking it, like the deep ones in this clip. the actual topic is if its a relaxed voice or not.
That voice of Chole it's pretty similar to the japanese voice of Daru, from Steins;Gate 😂

It's wider than Kanata's. Kanata's a lot better at mimicking people tho lol.
Ehh if you hear her sing you will realize she has a natural nice deep voice but she does not use it on stream cause it is not popular in the jp side
@@Micheldied Hard to say for sure, but I think Kanata's range is still wider. Hearing her solo cover of "Call Boy" and her cover of "Drain"... it's incredible how high and low she can go.

@@juampisito Just because she sings with her lows doesn't mean her natural voice is at that pitch. Enna from niji en is one such case. Her stream voice is her natural speaking pitch, but when she sings she uses her deeper pitch because that's how she learned to sing.
But chloe herself said that her stream voice is not her natural voice. Though she never mentioned anything other than that.

It’s fairly common now for lots of the talents who didn’t all in on character gimmick voices to sound way closer to their “natural” voice and tone, especially for those whom were drastically up pitching and/or sounding more nasally (think suisei and Marine, especially marine actually since she literally had to stop using her original voice due to how damaging the strain was).
Even EN members somewhat fell into this voice acting style of portraying their hololive personas, only to later essentially just fully revert to their natural voice and speech styles (Calli, outside of her songs in which she just straight sounded like her personal channel’s music content, was the most stand out to my memory in this way, followed by maybe Kiara who like the rest of us knew many of the jp girls put on a cutesy anime voice and emulated that a little).
Also, nerves explains some of this. It’s gotta be nerve wracking to join hololive or Niji and instantly have thousands of attentive, active eyes on you and your work right off the rip, and then as they relax, so does their tone and such.
But yeah, still really cool to see them sometimes “break character” into effectively themselves.

Calling them "fake" is going a step too far, and there are face streamers that do the same voice changing too. Usually though the degree of "voice changing" isn't really that far off from their usual. Even IRL, people typically have multiple voices they use for different situations, and even depending on who they're speaking with.
Same. I also hate that Josh Brolin isn't actually a giant purple alien, and that Keanu Reeves hasn't actually murdered several hundred people. Fucking fakes.
