To be fair to Izanami, she'd been having a _really_ shitty day, and Izanagi almost seemed like he was putting a concerted effort into making the day even worse for her... I mean, first she had to give birth, which is already an excruciating enough ordeal on its own, but she literally had to give birth _to fire itself,_ and the strain of _that_ ordeal realistically killed her, so that was a pretty shitty start to her day. Unmentioned in Smite's lore is that Izanami's last act before she passed away was to give birth to Mizuhame, the goddess of water, and tell her to calm Kagutsuchi if he ever grew violent again... Well, that act of compassion was immediately thrown out the window 'cuz Izanagi blamed the newborn Kagutsuchi for Izanami's death and straight up butchered the baby she died giving birth to... Izanami was understandably upset at this and, to spite Izanagi, ate the food of Yomi and became one of the netherworld's denizens by doing so, basically denying Izanagi the one he loved in return for killing the son she loved... However, when Izanagi came to return her to the realm of the living, she still agreed to counsel with the Yomotsukami, the gods of the dead, and ask them if she could be allowed to return after all. In exchange, Izanagi had to promise not to look upon her during his visit. Which he did promise. And then he couldn't contain himself any longer; he just _had_ too look upon his beloved Izanami again and promptly created a light source... That's when he realized that his hawt waifu was now a rotting, maggot-eaten and badly burnt corpse, ran in horror from her, out of Yomi, and blocked the entrance with a huge boulder. Izanami, by now _quite_ fed up with Izanagi, demanded that he either removed the boulder or she'd kill a thousand people every day... and Izanagi, remaining as reasonable, mature and accomidating as he'd been so far, went for the reasonable and mature option of sneering back that he'd just give life to one-thousand five-hundred every day instead of just, you know, _removing the frickin' boulder._

You know smite is a game about deities, right? Izanami is from Japanese mythology, and Yato from Noragami is a fictional character made up for the plot of the show. Yato isn't an actual Japanese God.

If i remembered right ? when izanagi asked izanami to go with him and she said yes and she would follow him out of the dead realm but with one condition, he must not turn around to see her no matter what. On their way to the exit, Izanagi always heard the cry of his wife shout out his name. He tried to be patient until near the exit that he couldn't take it anymore so he turned around and then see his wife - Izanagi is a skeleton. The condition broke so she returned to dead realm leaving her husband - the one was regreting with he had done just then. Or maybe i was wrong ?

If i remembered right ? when izanagi asked izanami to go with him and she said yes and she would follow him out of the dead realm but with one condition, he must not turn around to see her no matter what. On their way to the exit, Izanagi always heard the cry of his wife shout out his name. He tried to be patient until near the exit that he couldn't take it anymore so he turned around and then see his wife - Izanagi is a skeleton. The condition broke so she returned to dead realm leaving her husband - the one was regreting with he had done just then.
