Uploaded for your pleasure with permission from the surviving members of the group. This upload is dedicated to the memory of Melanie Shanahan, who in her own words on this tape (but talking about someone else!) always sang with such heart.

I have their album, one of my all time favourites! Thank you for sharing 🙏🌼❤️
So good to see Arramaieda in concert again after so many years. I have very fond memories of many Woodford folk festival concerts. Such stunningly beautiful songs. Thank you.
This brings back deeply treasured memories of singing with Arramaieda and the real friendships forged with Rach and Mel in particular. Ive never seen us in concert, this is so welcome after all these years. To see Darling Melanie again is very special indeed. Im so grateful xx
Many thanks for sharing this, Tony. A beautiful concert from a wonderful group of singers. Great harmonising, great grooves, great bond with the audience and with each other.
The Two Birds song is still my favourite. Divine Rachel! So amazing to see & hear you all sing again. Arramaieda lives on. Abby xxx
Quite beautiful. Thank you Arramaieda
Thank you, Tony Rees, for this jewel. I was transported back in time when I was mesmerized and delighted by Arramaieda. This recording is a treasure. Thank you Thank you
Excellent upload. Arramaieda at the top of their game. Very humbled by their beautiful version of my song Divorced.
So glad, Andy, that you appreciate this upload and the motivation behind it. Feel free to supply any additional info regarding your song and where the lyrics or your own recording of it may be available (e.g. for purchase)...
A lovely capture of this great group in full flight, Tony! SO GOOD!!
Australia in the 80s and 90s had an abundance of excellent, small “a cappella harmony” combos (not ‘choirs’ per se) and many were all-female, and they were in every capital city and many other towns as well. A wonderful time for making vocal music with heart, in harmony with one’s friends - both old and new. Unforgettable times. The Folk Scene of course (esp in the UK), had a long history of groups singing in harmony “unaccompanied”. But sadly, so many of these wonderful experiences in concerts, folk clubs, and the like, were never captured on film, nor even audio tape that has survived the ravages of time. All were pre-mobile phones, the internet, and RUclips :)) So every time you see a performance online from last century (!), realise that it was just the tip of the iceberg and that SO MUCH good stuff happened that was not able to be recorded for posterity. But it is indeed wonderful to revisit with the fabulous Arramaieda after all this time - so thanks Tony!!!
PS This evocative performance is also redolent of the amazing ‘Sweet Honey in the Rock’ and I feel so privileged to have seen Sweet Honey 3 times in concert, in Darwin and Brisbane! RjB.
Oh yes, I agree it was a purple patch for a capella harmony groups indeed!
Here in Qld at Maleny FF we often had these bands featuring a capella songs: Blindmans Holiday, Arramaieda, The Fagans, Hot Potatoes, Sister Moon Ensemble, another sunny coast trio whose name I forget (leaders name started with K), & us! (One Step Forward, Maree Robertson, John Thompson, Ann Bermingham), who else?!
We even had a national
A Capella Festival in Melbourne in 1994, organised by The Boite..
@@mareerobertson2590 Yes indeed, Maree! I also recall that incredible trio from Perth, WA at the Maleny National FF in 1989, “Hammer & Tongues”!!
Maleny, Qld itself in the 90s celebrated SERAfINA and Melodical Benefits - and in the early 2000s, Raw Silk, Work in Progress (with the late Paul Lawler), Fine Cotton, Blackbird, Skadi.
The 80s-90s in tropical Darwin, NT were regaled by the talents of MNÁ, Star Piquettes, Soundscape, No Strings Attached, Sweet Mermaids (from Hell), The Wantons, Surf City Stingers, Green White & Light, Chameleon, AMSSS, Acappella Fellas ………
Probably some I’ve forgotten, but yeah, they sure were great times for a cappella harmony singing groups - and all before vocal beatboxing was A Thing! :) RjB
@@oswaldthree I actually am in contact with Maria from H&T she now lives in northern NSW
Heavenly, thank you for uploading this Tony, and most of all, thank you beautiful Arramaieda! Is there anyone who can name all the songs they sing; make a songlist of the concert?
