    I don't know if I totally agree with you on the non-XT part that person may really be trying to keep someone from returning their card because they didn't read and pay attention; also if miss read and get something you do not want and the seller is not at fault for your misstate, then you will have to pay for the return shipping yourself. Also if you get scammed like the paper edition in most cases eBay will refund you your money and go after the BAD seller themself.

    That "non XT" really depends on the GPU.
    Searching for a "RX 6700," obviously, gets ... every ... fracking ... RX 6700 XT. End up updating the search parameter with "non XT;" which only gets a few less ... Having the "NON XT" in a listing, for certain GPUs, helps.

    • @TechLens
      @TechLens  Год назад +9

      Oh god yeah, we do a lot of historical pricing on the channel and that can be a nightmare. But I have a little tip for you... search for "RX 6700 -XT"
      The "-" is an exclusion parameter for the next characters and will only pull listings without XT in them. Hope this helps!

    my tips are also: ask for more pictures, asked why they are selling the gpu, how long they have had the gpu, if they have cleaned and replaced the thermal paste, and also if it has had any problems.

    As an Australian 🇦🇺 eBay user (sold 350+ items and overall rating 1000+🥰💪😇) I note my pc parts as “not mined on” and / or “undervolted” as well. I’m a gamer and non miner 😡! Even thou this video has vg information to follow ……. I feel that commenting to “never” trust a seller making those comments ……. Is unfair as the vast majority of users are legit, despite there being a number unscrupulous and dodgy dealers as well. I’ve also been burned on a $20 AUD item and buyer protection did NOT protect me and the seller didn’t have to deliver another item or refund me (eBay supported this) despite a delivery photo NOT showing my homes doorstep being delivered to 👎😡!

    • @TechLens
      @TechLens  Год назад +15

      Hey dude! Honestly, people like you are hard to find in my experience and my default is to not trust someone who I don't know. A conversation with the seller should bring some shadiness to light, if you know the questions I mentioned and can see red flags. But my recommendation to all is to play it safe and default to not trust someone on ebay, as they are fundamentally a stakeholder with different interests. hope you're doing well man!

    I have a question. But first, a backstory for some context. I actually just purchased a used Zotac 3060ti LHR version for cheap from an online marketplace (It's still being shipped as of now), and it reeks of a mined-on GPU. But of course the seller denied it, and stated he only used it in his personal gaming PC. (How did I know it was in a mining rig? As soon as I purchased the GPU instead of the listing saying "sold out" he updated the inventory with 1 more, exact same GPU model) So I was kind of scammed. What gave me some optimism is that he only bought it in March this year, and it is still covered with local, transferrable warranty until 2024 (warranty seals covering the backplate screws are still intact, so he couldn't have tampered or modified the thermal paste/pads).
    My question is; assuming the previous owner mined with this card for 6 months (from march until the ETH merge in September) with stock settings, how do you figure the card's condition would be regarding its general health, fans, and thermal paste/pads? Would reapplying the thermal paste and changing the pads worth the risk of voiding the warranty? (warranty policy in my country is pretty strict about not tampering with the seal). I'm waiting nervously for the card to arrive so some feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, and have a great day! Greetings from Indonesia

      @DudeMcFly-v6r Год назад

      Kinda ironic when you say "trying to sell their shit". Recently, it took three attempts for me to buy a new mobile phone online. The first two were scams, but I got my money back on both occasions. If I were not diligent, and instead chose your logic which is to trust randoms with hundreds of dollars then I would have paid 3 times as much as the phone is worth. Probably the most annoying part is waiting weeks for money to be refunded, or items not as described to be posted back. These days scammers are everywhere, and so logically, the trust is going to be in short supply. I do wish it was not this way though.
