    Great video Paul and very well explained, I have recently started going over my panels after laying the clear and adding a bit more if needed I got this idea from you in a vid you done a while back.
    My gun settings for my DV1 C1 1.2mm is normally 1/2 turn in from full fluid for the first coat then the second is full fluid, fan is 1/2 turn in from full and 1.4 bar on the digital gauge which is different from using an analogue gauge on the base of the gun.
    Thanks for including the colour codes in your videos mate, as you know I like trying different colours and this one is saved in my Kapci ColorMix software comes up as Race Blue, cheers, John

      Thanks John, I get why people always say set your gun up with everything wide open and 2 bar. But the companies wouldn't have put the adjustments on there if they didn't think we would need them. I always say you can put more lacquer on but can't take it off I'd rather have it wound in a bit and have to "top it up" than pump it on. But that's just me lol

    Not trying to tell u what to do. U obviously know what ur doing. Butttt... try using 36in paper around ur sanded panels. Then bag it and cut it as far away from the panels as possible. It helps alot. Don't have the bag flappin

    • @paulphillipspaintwork

      Probably the hte clear, but I don't think there is much in it to be honest? I can get a really smooth finish with both.

    • @paulphillipspaintwork

      Hi, apologies for the delay. it is a case of good match but i do like to use as much of the available blending area as possible to create a smooth transition. i will stay away from adjacent panels if its an awkward colour 😅

    Hi Paul hope your well and doing ok?can I ask what you set the regulator at the wall? As I wear sata vision 2000 and use ws 400 for clear..I was told to have it as low as possible but when I spray at 2bar at the bottom of the gun gauge it sprays like I’m at 1bar .when I up it at the wall to 10bar and spray at 2bar it sprays really nice..sorry for the long question I’m just trying to get my head around it🙄..thanks again Paul

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  2 года назад +1

      Hey Tim, I'm good thanks how are you. Its kinda long winded to explain so I'll link a great video that sata made to explain. But basically you want to have your air fed on and your spray gun wide open at the air valve and use your air regulator to make micro adjustments (so I wouldn't have this fully open or closed but around the middle) then pull your trigger for air and adjust the pressure at the wall to slightly above where you want it and then use the regulator on the gun to adjust down to exactly where you want it. But hopefully the video will help lol.

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  Год назад +1

      Hi, that's awesome I love to here where viewers are from. The walcom base coat gun I have is a 1.3 and clear coat is a 1.2 I find this works best for most paints. The guns are lovely to spray they atomize really well and give a nice "gun finish." Thanks

      a good craftsman can be heard from far away, great respect, otherwise I'm a car varnisher myself. I would buy that gun, the paint seems to me to be good, but there you go. Only how many bars of air goes to the base, and how much do you use on it when you paint. Best regards from Serbia

    Dear sir, it's quite obvious that you are leaving out the most crucial part of a how to RUclips channel! You provide only half of the instruction. You're missing the first half, which is the most crucial. Apparently, someone else is repairing the bumper for you, SO YOU CAN LOOK GOOD AS YOU PUT THE FINISHING TOUCHES. Not a single video shows you doing the actual repair, BEFORE YOU BASE COAT AND CLEAR! I will not subscribe to your channel, unless you show the process from the very BEGINNING.

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  2 года назад +5

      Thanks for the feed back, I really appreciate your concern with my repairs and prep but I don't own this workshop and only have permission to film certain aspects of the job. I have tried to film the prep and polish process but I am regularly interrupted to look at other jobs, asked about blends and various other aspects of the job. This makes it hard to film content that I would be happy sharing. I am also not aloud to show registration numbers for obvious reasons. Try to make good content in this regard is possible but I would end up spending more time trying to set up shots than doing the work I am employed to do so I share as much as I can with that in mind.
      Thanks again
