A few things - firstly there's no such thing as a 2.7 "s". That car with the tiptronic is a base model with painted calliper's and an 's' badge. Secondly the 2.7 base with the 5 speed box is a very capable everyday and motorway cruiser. At 70mph its doing 3000 rpm, and pulls extremely well beyond that. Another thing about the 5 speed manual versus the 6 speed is the 5 speed doesn't suffer with the 6 speeds well documented problem of jumping out of 2nd gear, which requires a gearbox rebuild.
Not yet properly run in at 55000 mileage? Come on … also if you don’t notice a difference between a Gen 1 with a tiptronic at over 7 seconds to 60 mph vs. a Gen 2 manual with under 6 seconds then I really don’t know what you’re doing.

You are correct, the S refers to the tiptronic S gearbox.

It wasn’t meant in literal sense, more so if they are well maintained they go for well over 100k easy
