What specific strength training exercises have you found to be quite effective in targeting weak areas or imbalances that impact your running form and efficiency?

Many thanks man, hope it’s given you some ideas for your own routine! I’m keen to figure out a gym schedule soon and get back to it, otherwise might have to find a few kettlebells for the home setup…

I got the Endorphin pro 4 recently and my toes have been getting a little numb also, hoping the shoe wears in and gets a bit better

Oh man that’s a shame to hear, is the sizing correct for you lengthwise (half to full thumb width from front of longest toe to front of shoe)? I also would’ve considered the Pro 4s if not for having numb toes in the Pro 3s… anyways I tried some new lacing techniques recently which seems to help a bit with my numb toes I’ve been getting with the Speed 3s (still needs more testing but has been decent on the few long runs I’ve done so far with that new lacing style). Check out “single helix lacing” from the ASICS website for example www.asics.com/nz/en-nz/mk/choosing-the-right-running-shoe/lacing or even consider some no-tie shoe laces (like Lock Laces). Maybe even a tennis ball, a few ping pong balls, or some socks stuffed into the shoe overnight might expand the upper and toebox a bit. Might not fix the problem but worth a try I reckon, let me know how it goes!

Do you follow all of these in every session of your strength training routine !?
Great video. I feel it’s pretty intense already and covering most of the required training.

Hey thanks for stopping by! I don't cover every exercise each session but I try to rotate a bunch of it every other day or so, and by the end of the week I'll have covered most exercises a few times. For the most part it takes about 30mins or less per session so it’s not too bad for now, but often times I don't do enough sets and reps (e.g. sometimes it's 3x10 for one exercise, and then 3x5 for another, but might depend on the type of exercise really), and the rest period might be kinda short (e.g. sometimes it's 30s, but it might not that bad since I'm not really using heavy weights or resistance currently). Sometimes I’ll miss or have to skip some sessions but I don’t think it’s much of a setback as I’m still fairly consistent with the sessions overall.
Anyways over time I’d like to refine the routine and make it more rounded, effective and also time-efficient... what I have now is probably keeping me barely afloat, plus I’ve been a bit too lazy to decide which exercises are redundant or not particularly useful so I really gotta get across that soon and likely get back to the gym haha... btw what's your routine like, and got any recommendations for exercises we should all be doing?

Thanks for your detailed explanation. Love it. I m return runner after 10years gap where I did half marathon in India couple of time. Now I m following Runna app for my first full marathon this Sept Sydney 15th. it has pretty intense weight training routine and mobility. As I was looking for structured routine and bumped into this App.
I feel any single leg training with weights is must for everyone and with long runs it definitely gives those niggle where we don’t have enough strength and to focus on that ..

@@RaghavendraManjunath-oj6cb Wow 10 years ago... I wonder how different the shoe technology was back then (and even earlier)... anyways great to hear you're getting back to it! I think I've seen quite a number of fellow runners using the Runna app over the past year or so (and with decent success from following the training plans too), I haven't tried it just yet but might explore it a bit later on... And you're absolutely right about the importance of single leg training, hopefully we can continue striving to be stronger in ways that we can, so that we can run for a good long while!
