There definitely is a cultural aspect to this. in japan for some reason they have the pervy character trope. Like sanji, Jiraiya, Master roshi, etc. I'm not a fan of the pervy crap. But we have to understand that it is portrayed as comedy. And for the writers of the mangas, it is a comedic element to these characters. So when I watch these shows, or read these mangas I know that the behavior isn't acceptable in real life, and they show that by having every non perv character call them out on it. The comedic part is the length that these pervs will go to get some ass. So from a western lens it can still be funny. You just have to put these tropes in perspective.
I think it reflects their irl society, look it up on youtube there's a bunch of videos about how women's get s*xually assaulted in Japan in broad day light mostly in trains(that's how that weird p*orn hentai trope in trains got created) and there's even some European dude that said most of the time girls are scared to even speak up when it happens. A big portion of the population in Japan are virgins "not saying it's a bad thing" the culture is just really weird most hentais always involve some rapy stuff.
if you can have that mindset for the pervs then have the same mindset for the main women characters that hit the guys like naruto asta and luffy. there are so many ppl who will literally hate sakura nami and noelle bcus of this even though it’s meant to be funny

If Rob had asked Wellz whether he would still hold someone like Jiraya in high regards after he spied on his daughter, that conversation would have been over then and there. Jiraiya my fav character in Naruto, and while I do agree about what Rob said regarding his pervy nature, it doesn't take away the ideals and motifs that's imbedded in jiraiya's ninja way as well as many of the elements that cement Jiraiya as a great character for me. I'm really glad Wellz didn't back down during that argument and stood up for Jiraiya until the end. Earned my respect for him after this.

Why is Rob bringing R Kelly and Bill Cosby into this? Like what? Jiraiya is zero like those two, so I'm getting why he even bother to bring that up. IMO this is a cultural difference kinda thing. In Japan it’s not exactly something that is acceptable to peep on girls but it’s not taken as harshly and seriously as compared to over here in the states. Its literally just a difference in culture. The thing about sanji is he was 19 pre time skip, and 21 post time skip. So while it is weird for him to be a pervert he’s usually going for girls his age. Only weird thing on sanjis part from what I seen was his attraction to pudding while she was 16 but it was also a forced marriage and the age of consent laws are different in Japan. U know this makes me think of a idea that could be in a anime, at first a guy peeking over into a women's bath is played for laughs, and then the women is genuinely scared and they have a talk were shes explaining how uncomfortable that is and whatnot and to ask someone before u look at them naked etc. And the guy genuinely learns from it.
