This routine is hilarious because A) Kyla didn't get hurt and B) Kyla will never ever repeat this mistake again. So I can chuckle without guilt. It just wasn't her day.

It's amazing how she recovers after that fall. If I make a mistake in the beginning of my routine, I immediately start panicking. Her new choreography is lovely! I love how she stands out. I'm normaly not a fan of America's artistry.
Kyla Ross has always been a curious case for me. She had tremendous power, technique, flexibility and consistency (really the whole package), but her difficulty did not progress beyond her junior years, and she even watered down as she grew. I mean clearly the "go clean" strategy served her well, but I always wondered what other skills she would have been capable of doing.
Very similar to Mustafina honestly. Musty was performing such easy tumbles on floor after 2013 Worlds even though she would always land so high on her tumbles. Obviously, both had some injuries so I understand that, but I feel like neither fully explored their potential.
I think with her new height gain, it's becoming more difficult @ this time to adjust. I hope she can pull it together & peak for trials & be on that team for Rio. She's worked so hard & basically is the only one that hasn't stopped training.
She's probably one of the most artistic elegant us gymnasts of all time, matched by Shannon Miller and Nastia Liukin. All other U.S. Gymnasts rather have excruciating choreography like Gabby and Mary Lou, no artistry like Mykayla Skinner, boring static choreography like Carly, spunky, energetic choreography like Simone, Laurie and Ragen and then all others are ok. Glad Kyla added the Ferrari back in. Also her double pike is getting higher and higher I think the full in is going to come back as well. She's so talented and I'm hoping that she'll get major upgrades before rio. I think she can get to rio without much problems but if she wants individual medals along with a team medal she'll need big upgrades
Also her mistakes with the exception of tripping before the ring leap attempt is a good sign. The double Arabian and double pike were both overrotated.
I don't know how I feel about this routine for Kyla. The choreo seems like it would fit a gymnast with a lot of sass and personality like Boguinskya for that matter. She just seems like she's trying too hard to perform this routine, but maybe the fall just rattled her and threw her off.
To be honest I never really liked Kyla Ross after 2013 but after she announced her retirement I realized I'm really going to miss her in elite gymnastics ;-;
I never cared for her, pretty form BUT ONLY DID EASY SKILL!!!! Elizabeth Price or Finnegan should have gotten that 5th spot in 2012. It was embarrassing seeing kyla compete floor at the2012 games, doing a 1 and 1/2 to double full!!!!!!!! Great on Bars but Price or Finnegan HAD ACTUAL DIFFICULTY on ALL 4!!!!! Even more tragic, she should have been classy like Khorkina (who gave up her vault spot in 2000 so Zamo could win) and kyla should have given up her floor final spot in 2013 so Mykayla maroney could have competed and WON A MEDAL!!!!!

They needed a calm, cool and consistant gymnast who could score high and pull out a stunning routine under pressure, that's why Kyla was chosen. In her senior career kyla only fell around 6 times that's extremely low.
Just a bad day for her and so early in the season. Maybe the new choreography didn't help when she was flustered. She is still one of the most consistent gymnasts ever.
I don't think kyla should add any crazy floor upgrades she is never going to get a floor medal and with a routine like this she can (hopefully!) deliver a safe routine for her and the team floor shouldn't be her goal she needs to focus on upgrading bars and beam before Rio!
Nbc also called a Russian elite untalented in Anaheim so their system of commentating and scoring isn't the final word on anything. Kyla had a really bad floor in Italy but seriously nbc is your reference?

this new coreography doesn't suit the music. she needs to change at least the first half of the routine. I like the music though ( I think it would be perfect for afanaseva)
