The story behind the song: it came up on my Discover Weekly and I saw the name of the song and played the first bit and liked it. Often times when I’m editing, I’m inspired by the beats and vibrations of a song without even listening to the lyrics or understanding the deeper meaning of a song. And with the track on repeat for hours as I edit, the lyrical part of the song can fade off into the background. This was one of those instances. Regardless, moving forward I’ll make sure to listen more closely and be more careful with my song choices.
this would ordinarily be a really good video, you are such a skillful video executive producer, but that song entirely ruins the entire video from being in your best of category. Given how popular you've become, you might want to strip that song out and repost this as re-edited. Peace, .
My family is from Oaxaca and I just want to say thank you for recording your experience there. I haven’t been there in a while, so your video was very nostalgic to the city I am proud to be from. Another thing I want to thank you for is for showing Mexico in a “real” aspect (if that makes sense) and not shining it away from its artisan work. I hope you enjoyed your stay and the yummy food. xoxo Btw- I absolutely love every single one of your outfits
So glad you got to see one of the most beautiful parts of my country and that you enjoyed it so much!!! As always your vlogs are the definition of dreamy and ethereal and they just radiate peace and this carpe diem vibe that I admire so much! Thank you for sharing your journeys with us! Love from México!!
Raychieeee!!! such a beautiful video and thank you for capturing all the beautiful moments we all got to share together!!!! I think we should always do a summer trip even when we're 80 years old. LOVE YOU SIS!!!!
this video made me so happy! My parents brought me to the United States from Mexico from at an early age and i haven't been able to go back so seeing this was so special. I love the comment you made about everyone being good at their own craft, thank you for showing us this.
Just in awe of every video you make. You are my favourite artist here on RUclips (youtuber doesnt cut it for you). If you were to make a movie I would watch it repeatedly. Please don’t ever stop creating!
I loved Valerie’s outfits so much. By the way thank you for capturing how hardworking people from Mexico are especially the part with the rugs they’re all proud of their job and I couldn’t get over it ❤️.
I’m not Mexican (I’m Boricua 🇵🇷 ) but I can give you a few awesome Mexican bands you could use for your videos, or just so you can listen to cool new bands! 1. Zoe 2. Porter 3. Carla Morrison 4. Natalia Lafourcade
A weird question, but do you ever find it hard to really immerse yourself in something/somewhere and feel present while part of your job/life style has to do with sharing content online? I'm curious because im not an influencer or anything, but sometimes I find myself wanting to do something or go somewhere/eat something just for the 'aesthetics' of it and how it looks rather than from a genuine interest to experience something for myself.
So happy to see that you had a good time! I actually recognized you in the airport (My family is visiting Mexico right now too) but didn't want to bother you. We're getting to Oaxaca in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited. This video makes me even more excited to visit the place that my mother is from. Thank you for this video!
Gosh I know, I only listened to the first few verses of the song and was tickled by the Oaxaca lyrics. I'm also too zoomed in when I edit and don't focus on the lyrics and didn't realize how... visual the lyrics were until I finished the video. Let's mentally change the lyrics to loving verbs.
I haven't even watched it yet, but I guarantee you I could log out of RUclips, shut down my computer and grocery shopping and I still know I would love this vlog
I love this vlog, I love your vlog - as always. Love the music choice except like everybody else, the lyrics of the first song disturbed me 😭😭😭 my poor heart. But, I love every other song and the content! Would love to visit Spain someday. You explored the rural living side of it 💓💓💓💓
Looovveee it!! I heard a little Selena in that one track 😸😉 you would fall in love with my husbands childhood home! It’s a reflection of our culture from Michoacán Zamora!! ❤️❤️ very similar in architecture & aesthetic with the artisan home decor!
i loooved this! i loved the end, it was so cute! and y'all are so stylish! and wow! and great job!! and looking forward to your next whatever it is!!!!
After watching you for years, I fall in love with your music taste more and MORE! I recommend you checking out Acid Carousel. They’re a smaller band from my hometown of Denton, TX and I think you’d really like them.
idk yet, I've been filming this july and will post something this month! But I am going through a lot of changes that's gonna take my time away from being able to vlog daily. I'll explain it all in a video!
Cultural Exchanges Between Mexicans and Fiipinos (the 'Chinese Indians' in Mexico) During the Galleon Trade The galleon trade greatly stimulated interactions between Acapulco and Manila. many Mexicans settled in Manila and scored of Nahuati words entered Tagalog, the main Filipino language. These included atole, avocado, balsa, cacao, calabaza, camote, chico, chocolate, coyote, nana(y), tatay(y), tocayo, and zapote. In addition, the Filipino currency has the same name as Mexicans - the "pesos." A large number of Filipino migrated in the other direction, escaping from their life of servitude aboard a galleon by jumping ashore on the coast of Colima and Guerrero. One sizable community settled in Coyuca, on the Costa Grande, 50 km north of Acapulco. Filipino influence in Mexican life and culture is most evident in the Pacific coast of Mexico, from Colima in the north of Oaxaca in the south, more than a thousand miles distance. Acapulco is in the state of Guerrero north of Oaxaca. In this area, there are thousands of people with strong Malay features. The prevailing design of the houses and buildings in this area is based on the Filipino "bahay kubo" - houses made of thatch. In the state of Guerrero, scholars have found about 300 Filipino names. Their descendants are concentrated in the small districts of Expinallilo and Coyuca about 20 miles north of Acapulco. One family in this area has produced a lady senator by the name of "Maganda." In Mexico City, there are many professionals with Filipino heritage. Early Filipinos in Mexico were called locally as "Chinese Indians" and brought their experties in the cultivation and use of palm trees with them. In Tagalog, palm fronds are known as "palapa" and by the end of the 18th century, this name was in use, too, for the palm roofed shelters which remain a distinctive style of architecture along Mexico's coasts. The coconut palm's sap is known locally as "tuba." Filipino newcomers fermented the resulting coconut wine into a potent drink. Henry Bruman, a University of California geographer, documented how Filipino seamen on the Manila Galleon also introduced simple stills, for making coconut brandy, to western Mexico during the late 16th century. These techniques were quickly adopted by Mexicans who were then able to turn the hearts of their native agave plant into "tequila." An excellent example of how developments in transportation can encourage cultural exchanges, and diminish the social, economic, and cultural distance between places. *** - from Ka Totoy Talastas Philippines & World History Tell
it was very, very hard. some things broke when i got home :( BIG TIP, do not pack anything close to the bottom where the wheels are. didn't think that through when the suitcase was laying flat.
omg, im usually super early to watch // comment ur vids raych, but... i have a new job so this is anyway; you hella outdid yourself and i am so impressed with the editing and music choices! (ur vids always amaze me, but this one rlly made me gasp!) thanks for always inspiring me xo, starbies
Your vlogs are getting me through my WTF2020 blues, just in case today you needed to know that you're doing good to someone in the world. Also, the first song is horrible and very representative of the misoginy/femicides wave my country is currently going through.

That first song is disturbing.... ☠️
LOVE your editing skills girl! They always make your videos so enjoyable to watch. Thanks!
bizarre first song choice, but otherwise gorgeous vlog. love the authenticity, celebration of artisanship, and undercurrent of softness x
At first I thought, what's wrong with it? I like it. Sounds chill. Then, I listen to the lyrics...........
Very creepy 😆 but the song mentions Oaxaca Mexico 🇲🇽
